I am typing on my husbands account. I rented your movie from the library. I really enjoyed watching it. I was so intrigued. You did an awesome job putting it together. I found myself glued to the movie. Thanks a bunch. I have a yearning to learn more.
    Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. (Kathy Bernard)

hello, I worked at kings park state hospital as a psychiatric aide when I was 18. my first job. my mother worked in the recreation dept. for 20years. she loved her patients that when she retired she housed 3 patients in our home and gave them much compassion, understanding and treated them just like family. when I worked there I had great compassionate understanding of these people. they respected me and vice versa. I would bring them goodies from the local bakery. they were so happy with just a little something. they would greet me as I was opening the door with the big key. I've seen employees nice and the treated them badly. one being the charge attendent. she would not have anything to do with them. and would lock her self in the office. in the other hand, I did not need to do that. I kept myself right in there with them. I really felt for them. I talked to them and listened to them. I'd always asked how are you today? I saw that it meant alot, to them and to myself. I learned alot.

Thank you for being apart of history, I was born in 1997 and have struggled with mental health my entire life; i have zero support system not even from family. It would have meant the WORLD to me if I was under your care at the time, even though i wasn't alive😊 I'm still trying to get better 1 day at a time💕

Lucy I love this video. I have been in the same position as you. I am from Kings Park and have passed this place every day of the 37 years I lived in that town. My brother and dad worked in food service. They were kept from the patients. They didn't want the employees to know of the abuse. One good blessing that my family got from Kings Park Psych Center was that back in the day the employees were able to take some of the young patients home for the summer. We adopted my sister that way. My dad could not let her go back to that horrible place when there was nothing wrong with her other than the state had no where to place her. It's ashamed what happened to you. No one can give you back the years you lost in that prison/hospital.

Maternal abuse is the root of a lot of mental illness and serial killers
