Foxes, waveshine Nair is a mixup at mid to high percent cuz they would most likely be DI'ing out to get as much distance off of the shine. You can condition a marth to do this and then waveshine Nair em and then it's an easy edgeguard.
Great video Connor! Love how detailed this was. Could not have been easy finding all these clips for all the different characters. You put in a ton of work for this and it shows! Hope to see more videos from you in the future
@@Jonathondelemos no but there's no extra input delay and the max rollback is less than 3 frames, so even in the worst case, you'll still see the fastest moves like fox shine, so it barely ever affects gameplay
I don't think censoring MacD out of existence is the right thing to do. It just doesn't help in any way... Especially considering that he was one of the least dangerous individual who got banned during the purge of Summer 2020.
Thank you so much for this video! I was just getting the hang of waveshine but I really didn't know how to use it in different matchups and it ended up being kinda useless (especially against falco).
this is fantastic, more content like this that enumerates combos and such are really useful. You could do one about kill confirms, for example: what kill confirms should fox look for against sheik at which %s?
Don't have to wiggle out of tumble actually, you can either time the jump well or use Up on control stick for a 3 frame buffer. Still have to somewhat time it though
@@SSBMTutorials That same buffer applies to the "wiggle out" where you just need one stick input to get out of tumble normally (without jumping out), right? Or am I misunderstanding? Are your inputs locked out if you miss the window early (similar to missed tech, for example) or something? I feel like I should know this shit after playing for as long as I have, lol.
how tf do you jab out of waveshine???? I swear my waveshine is long enough but fox and falco are always too far away from me to jab them. please help me
it's possible to escape. If you're talking about against Sheik at low percent, she can SDI the nair up hard and double jump out, but she's still in a really bad spot. However most people will just get combo'd by this
you might be confusing weight with gravity. fox and falco, despite being fastfallers, have low weight. peach, on the other hand, has a slow fall speed but a high weight. fox and falco’s lower weight makes them more susceptible to being knocked down. a character’s fall speed is unrelated to their weight. weight also affects the speed of fox’s upthrow animation. this is why upthrow upair is so much harder to land on peach. fox/falco = lightweight, fastfaller falcon = heavyweight, fastfaller puff = lightweight, floaty peach = heavyweight, floaty
I know it's semantics, but why don't we call "short hop" hop and "full jump" jump, instead of having to qualify the height every time? Nothing to do with the video, just something that always occupies my brain whenever I think melee tech discussions.
Congrats on finally made it to 100k! I’m glad this channel is back. It fills a hole needed in the community.
Just wanna mention that the covering of abusers in the vod examples doesnt go unnoticed and is appreciated!
Appreciate all the effort taken to get example footage from unranked and tournament sets, I know that's always p time consuming haha
Great video, I'll need to learn these. Showing footage from actual matches where these combos were used by top players was a very nice touch.
Best smash channel in RUclips, these guys deserve way more than 100k, top notch content

It's crazy to see slippi and non slippi clips in the same video. The game just looks so much nicer in new clips.

ssbm tutorials truly popping off recently, keep it up!
Next is gunna be a falco shine combo tutorial:
Shine->imagination
Man the connor vids on this channel are so good and don't have any hot takes in them, I love it
Never mind there was a reactability mistake
@@koitsuga I apologize for the mistake. I promise I'm doing the best I can with the limited amount of time I have lmao
Great vid I was looking for this exact video everywhere
8:20 lmao even trade
Lol fox does 800 inputs in rapid succession... peach pressed the yellow one down one time.. seems about right to me
Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Connor the legend 🙏
Could we get a video like this for comboing the weirdos? I'm talking of course about Samus, Yoshi, ICs, and Pikachu
And luigi...
yes I will do this

I didn't realize you came back till today.
Welcome back.
Amazing knowledge drop. Thank you so much for this hard work
Nah I'm still chaingrabbing falcon from 45 to 70, I only ever had like 2 mfs jump out of it lol
Aw. I was anticipating PAL Marth. Great video. I wish I had this back in 2013/2014 when I was active and learning.
I am pretty sure no Melee scene in the world still uses PAL. It is basically irrelevant in this era.
How about essential shines against top tiers with 80 ping
Double shines and drills
@@Lampaluile that’s assuming you even get the dash
80 is like offline?
@@abjoern if you are offline there is no ping between locations. So no it’s not like offline

Upthrow combos would be dope!
Connor this is an amazing resource, thank you
this is probably the most helpfull video you guys have thank you so much
Nice video Connor.
Awesome video thanks!
I'm a very casual player, and watching this makes me really want to learn Fox.
Great video!
Defenetly what you need to learn about shine

8:38 Why is MacD censored in this clip?
Nevermind, I understand now.
Great video awesome idea!
LOVE U CONNOR
Thank you so much!!!!

Could you do something similar with falco shine follow ups?
Shine JC usmash is actually pretty nasty against puff too
How do you double jump out properly as Falcon??
I would assume wiggle out of tumble as early as possible?

such good content
SSBMT, what do you think of Gildedguy's Falcomaster Anime?
If Peach players were as good at SDIing as Wizzrobe that infinite wouldn't last long.
Not trying to start anything but why is the guy at 8:40 censored? I’m just curious
Covering up those accused/confirmed of accusations of sexual misconduct. Don't need to shine any more light on em
cool
Do more videos on mid tiers
how tf do you jab out of waveshine???? I swear my waveshine is long enough but fox and falco are always too far away from me to jab them. please help me
try jabbing way earlier. most likely your waveshine isnt max length either but it shouldnt matter unless it's really not smooth
@@SSBMTutorials thanks for the feedback
A Falco one'd be cool.
At 8: 39 why is there a black square?

Yes I want this
I have a question is u-throw, n-air/b-air , u-tilt a true combo

mario tutorial pleaseeee
0:56 I think you got light and heavy backwards!
nope, kira is correct. higher weight == less knockback, which for fox’s shine, means that they don’t take enough knockback to fall over.

Run shine upair is soooo good vs falcon
Hi
Assuming that the Puff has enough stage to do so, you can't reaction tech chase her off of shine
