    Got to be honest I just bought the mossy oak version on amazon for £19.99 plus free shipping and l am absolutely overjoyed with the fit and finish, the build quality is pretty spectacular for the money.
    I do plan on changing out the hex bits for a 1/4 extension and conventional bits but that’s truthfully just because of my personal preferences and not because there’s anything wrong with the ones provided.
    Best £19.99 l ever spent, if l were Leatherman l would be terrified 😂
    I love mine it’s ace

    Thanks for the review! I have been carrying a Gerber MP600 daily on my commercial/industrial HVAC job and recently lost it. I feel lost without it. I gave $30 for it 7-8 years ago and now the price is $70! I don’t see paying that much to replace it, as much as I loved the one hand open pliers. I would probably replace it with a Leatherman Rebar if I end up spending $70.
    But first I’m researching what’s on the market. Your video helped, thanks!

      Thank you. The Gerber 600 is a great multitool as is the Leatherman Rebar. As a daily multitool the Bibury shines at working good at a very cheap price.

    Just bought my Bibury Multitool and I am very pleased with price/quality of this multy-tool. I would prefer to be lighter but I think that will increase the price considerably.

      Agreed. It would be nice to see more budget midrange multitools with as good quality as the Bibury. Roxon is releasing several new models this year. Maybe they will show up on Amazon eventually.

    I've been using this tool for two years now and it's still going strong.
    It's hefty alright but it's worth every penny.
    You can lock the bit driver at 90° and open the handle to get maximum leverage.
    I've paired it with the Leatherman ratchet and I'm pretty happy.
    Bought another 2 for backup.

    The Bibury has a wire stipper indent at the inside right by the joint, that is why it takes two cuts, try a bit furthur away from the joint.

    I bought this tool by accidenta few years ago. I prefer it in hand over the Leatherman wave plus. The older one are superior to the new ones. I bought a second Bibury and returned it. Very rough.

    I support Leatherman, as I bought both my sons leatherman tools... But I keep hearing about the build quality of Leatherman and I find the description nebulous at best, and possibly false at worse. I am no expert but I can tell you two things:
    when I pick up my Victorinox multitool the build quality is evident and much more precise in the joinery, more stable, lighter, less bulky and as strong... than any other multi tool I have experienced.
    This Bibury has a build quality that appears as good as any leatherman I have picked up (have not played with the new series). I don't have the tools "falling out" like you do, and the driver in this tool is exceptional. So what makes a leatherman so much better? Is it the quality of the steel? just not something I have observed.

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  Год назад +1

      I think two things jump to peoples minds when they say Leatherman is so much better, and that is Made in USA and 25 year warranty. For many those two things make all the difference. Now some would argue, that Leatherman can't even put made in USA because all of the tools aren't made in the US. But the warranty is a huge selling point.
      As far as fit and finish there are many that do like Victorinox better. Overseas multi-tools are becoming much better. Usually tools are machined slightly off on overseas tools causing slight wobble at lockup. Or overseas tools seem overly shiny and the tool steel is soft like on some Roxon tools. But in the past couple years as Leatherman prices rise and overseas tool quality becomes much better the worth point of Leatherman is less on some tools than it once was

      @@hvacbudget8600 thanks for the info... Someone (mighta been you?) did a Roxon review where the screwdriver broke! lol. And Roxon tools tend to be nice looking. This indicates your point about the soft steel.

    You are not supposed to stick wire all the way back in the cutters on the Leatherman. They are more like crimpers all the way in.

    • @richardsullivan1776
      @richardsullivan1776 2 года назад

    You are using the wire stripping part of the jaws to try and cut through the wire.
    Now you know why its just squashing it.

    Leatherman is the best..... And 25 year warranty.... I am on my 4th replacement from Leatherman.... It comforting to know of it breaks, I get a new one... Rather having to deal with the disappointment, having a 23 dollar paper weight in the form of a Burbery multitoll

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  3 года назад

      Leatherman has a great warranty! In general Leatherman multitools are definitely above everyone else in fit and finish. There is however a huge difference in quality between the Leatherman sidekick and the Leatherman Rebar. For $10 more I have found the Rebar a much better tool. In my work I crawl through attics and frequently loose tools so I have to decide if the sidekick which does not perform even some basic tasks well is worth it. For my work it was not. It may be a great tool for others in very different circumstances.
