He was driving on that for a while like that. Thats not a 1 mile to stop down the road when you felt the noise. Great roadside repair. Get some 6x6 and 4x4 cribbing and a 2'x2'x1/2" road plate ffs way better than jackstands,
Steve your videos are amazing. God bless you all
wow hope everyone is safe
awesome vid just subscribed
hell yea this is the content i like to see! also when did dodge start making solid front axle 2wds?!?!
No idea. I just learned about it on this repair. I know they did it on 45 and 5500s but had no idea about 3500 pickups. Even the 3500 cab and chassis had them I believe
I think it’s only on 4500 & 5500 trucks only
They started solid front 2wd with the 4th Gen I’m pretty sure
Crazy good job
Better check the rest of those bearings. Truck inspections usually catch that stuff.
Oh, I did. Wasn't risking it😂
GOOD JOB
Great video do another
good ol Dodge with the check engine light on. 😆
For torque converter slip. It comes and goes. There's no consistency either. It comes on for a day or two and stays off for a week.
I was just thinking I haven't seen any post from you in a long time
Man I carry blocks with me everywhere lol
me 2 lmao. i got 4 in my truck rn lol-
My neck of the woods!
Dude was driving on that bad wheel bearing for a long time. You can tell by all that red rust material all over the knuckle and backing plate
Oh I know. There was plenty of warning signs!!
Way to hustle and be able to run 2 hours from home to help a fellow hauler get back on the road. From the looks of things there was a problem for a little while.
Hell Steve, I use to use neverseize to pack the wheel bearings on my 4x4 in south Florida. It use to hold up better than regular grease in the mud and water.
I put a duralast gold wheel bearing on my 2wd truck and was confused why it had the hole for a 4wd truck.. but Ive had no problems knock on wood. This was a 2004 Chevy 2500hd.
Your truck sounds nice
Good idea on the anti seize
🔥 always enjoying your content 🔥🤟 still watching every video just got a little more busier🔥🤟
Awesome video Steve I use antifreeze on everything to
Antifreeze huh
Anti seize everything cuz 👍👍
Good stuff....
Anti siege is always a good idea
I use anti z on everything front end that has to do with heat
I used it in on everything I worked on in plants for yrs
On the two wheel drive and 4-wheel drive wheel bearing that's pretty common especially on the Ford stuff like in particular the Ford escape all the wheel bearings are four-wheel drive even if you have a two-wheel drive it was like that from the factory
Curious as to how long that wheel bearing has been going out lol
I mean how can you not hear it.
Oh he heard it. Then he felt it 😅
Crazy the driver ran it that long….lucky he didn’t kill someone
For real.
He got advice from two people when he saw the abs light. Both guys told him "it's probably just..." and sent him on his way. Poor guy didn't know what him him. He knew something was up but got bad advice.
@@CPSteveMiller sad but I can see that, a lot of drivers anymore don’t know anything mechanical, and I don’t mean that in a bad way, just how it is. You can ask them what motor in your truck and they will say I have no I deal I just drive it.
Damn, that's crazy, wheel bearing give you plenty of signs that it's going bad B4 it fail, one, it sounds like a train going down the road, 2 you hear a weird noise when you turning. Lot of work, new brake line and bleed it😅😅 250.00 job turns in to a 1,800 job.
I charged $1,563 for the whole trip. Parts alone were $732. Caliper core charge included. Can't return it when it's broken in half lol
@@CPSteveMiller 👍🏿👍🏿
@CP Steve Miller actually you gave him a deal.. anyone else would have charged over 2k for that job.....

2hrs … gotta be around Winchester 🤷🏻♂️
I think the last thing at that point you're worried about is the ABS sensor. Haha. I think the anti seize is a good idea. And ABS wire. Well it is a Ford you might as well carry a spare transmission and a engine or two. Lol
Looks like a good Ole dodge to me.
I have a 4th gen with a 5.7 crew long box I love it !!
Did the wheel bearing came out how did that happen
Wheel bearing blew apart
Anti seize is okay but I believe grease would work better the problem with anti seize it doesn't last but in a pinch it's better than nothing
woah you drove for 2 hrs
Used to drive for all but 32 hours straight.. Driving gets old. I'm glad those days are over.
Bit surprised she came out being that truck is very heavy
I didn't realize I didn't film more of it but I was sunk to the frame on the driver's side 😂
To the NUMB SKULL in this comment section. You said to Steve where did he find parts that time of night that were open and available. How do u know if Steve didn’t have parts laying around or previously picked them up as the customer called many hours earlier maybe we don’t know. This is why we shouldn’t assume. Is none of our business only Steve’s.
He did end up calling around 5:30
Parts were picked up around 7ish.
Unfortunately can't just drop and run the second they call but I did my best 😅
I wish I could afford to keep parts lying around but for this truck they were EXPENSIVE.
Parts were one $700 by themselves 😬
I think the driver tried to make it to an exit, but didn’t get out to inspect if the truck was capable. Or not, just send it.
22x14s is best for mudding steve.. you should know this already
If I could afford the tickets every week, I'd upgrade to 14 wides 😂
The Driver seems to be running to make the payments & NOT spending a dime on maintenance for sure!! I have seen ANVILS that more maintenance.
Those bolts were $
I see idiots like this all the time hauling way too much weight putting everyone on the road in danger
Weight has nothing to do with front wheel bearing failures. It's a simple pretrip. There are PLENTY of warning signs. If this happens, it's completely driver fault.
Loose steering wheel
ABS light
Wobbling or shaking front
Grinding noise
Sometimes, even a clicking sound
I've hauled 21,000 pounds for years on big tires and never once, and I never will ever experience this. Common sense mixed with experience comes a long way. Just don't ignore your warning signs or pretrip.
Hi bro whatcha up to hope all is well prayers 4 healing and unspoken also 4 everyone and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy hauling and happy roadsides in the name of the Creator God and Yeshua/ Jesus and the Holy Ghost Amen much honor and respect keep walking tall and be safe remember ur reflective shirts and or vest also maybe u can get another light bar 4 the reason cab too maybe one with a directional lights in it too 4 the rear of ur cab cool cool video keep on keeping on and keep praying and walking tall always many blessings

👍👍💪🙂👍👍
It’s caliper grease … what are ya suppose to use it on … a raccoon’s rear 🤷🏻♂️
Why wouldn’t this guy just tow it to a shop and get a hotel I hope you charged this guy at least 1500
He'd have been down for at least a week + the easy $500 tow(at a minimum). Dude would've been out at least 2500 + the days worth of work.
Total bill was $1549.94 and he was rolling by 4am to Knoxville Tennessee.
I asked if he wanted to tow it to a safe spot but he said he did not want to pay towing on top. I had to get my truck and trailer towed down in Florida 1 mile and it was $300 during the day. No shops being open it would've been a gamble as to where he took it. Whole endeavor would've cost him thousands just in down time not including the the cash output. He made a good call on this one in my opinion 😅
@@CPSteveMiller in Phoenix we still have losers that do that kind of work for for 250.00
how did the fucking wheel come off lol?>
Bad wheel bearing. It separated itself and split
The bottom line is, It's a Rollin garbage can that fiat made. that's y the wheel fell off
The fact people still buy dodge blows my mind.
Blaming a truck for driver error makes no sense. They all have problems. If a wheel comes off, it is 100% driver error.
Silver I don't like copper is way better
Poor cummins
Probably shouldn’t have happened
Definitely shouldn't have
Thank you , and never ever vote todays Democrat!
Furst
That's why dodge sucks. Gm too.
