praying away bullying is a totally naive way of confronting the problem and a totally useless guidance for young people being bullied and looking for support.
Jordan George the message of the film is that you should accept bullying as a fact of life and pray to God presumably to give you the emotional strength to undergo it. The message is just plain WRONG. Bullying is not a fact of life and should be fought wherever it occurs. Besides causing bodily harm to the victims, it is a major factor in attempted suicides. And if the authorities refuse to face up to the problem, it is time to take make them do what they get paid for.

Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment, I appreciate it. I love how the entire film shows how Steve's life has sucked because God has ignored him and all of a sudden an angel wakes Steve up, hands him his cash, says "Hold onto your faith." and just disappears. "Thanks God, all this time my life has been shit, and right when I was going to die and get to escape it all, you send an angel to pull me back into the nightmare that you still refuse to remedy." -Steve

That sounds good, thank you for your comment. I think, even with law enforcement it’s still a matter of faith in the system and that justice will be served. As it’s always a matter of witnesses or a persons word against another. But it definitely helps if there is a good system in place to deal with bullying.
Barnabas Lawson : Bulling issues are wide ranging :- Fat,ugly, walks funny , smelly, Gay ,emo ,goth , or just plain Nasty... l'm sure you get where l am going with this... it is anything & everything ,l am Gay & DEAF ! yes l have been Bullied for various reasons ! This was a good short film...I think it was to say, not to give up in hoping always...It is hard but never give up in hoping to see the good things in life...
The parent should have done more than just pray. My mother would have gotten the names from me. She would have gone to the principal and have him bring the boys to the office. She would have made sure that they were punished. If it happened again after that. She would have gotten their parents names and went to talk to them about their sons bulling me. If that that did not work. She would have been ready to whip the parents of the boys
The bullying would have stopped one way or another. My mom would have done every thing in her power to protect me, becauce she loves me. I was disappointed in this video. The bullies should have been punished.
This is very true - one of the most powerful and most deadliest forms of true love is that of a mother for her children/child. And not to mention, there's a *reason* why we have the saying "She went full momma-bear mode on them." Never get between a mom and her cubs, because she will do whatever she can/has to, to keep her kid or kids safe and away from harm. And of course, the same be applied to dads as well.
It is hard to see sometimes, and often it takes years if not decades to see anything. I spent 7 years in a hospital with constant surgeries and shots praying for the strength to get out of there while having a 50% chance to live. Now I am in my 20's and the leader of various charities and volunteer of camps for children with cancer as well as other places. Strength can be interpreted in many ways, but not always the way we intend. I hope that things get better for you and your mom,
I don't want to go into Christianity for I know more of it than I would like. As a final degree project it is more than good, excellent. The boy bullied in class, classic theme, but is at last not afraid to stand up against to his enemies. That's different, makes him a Shakespearian hero. But you know that all heroes from Shakespeare have a flaw that becomes fatal. We all have a flaw, makes us human and respectable but is not usually fatal. Hope to see more from you since you're talented. Regards, Nick
This was worked out for the movie, not because of a religion. Not because of your belief either. The only fight against a bully is telling a adult. Fake religion doesn't stop a bully.
Very dissatisfied with the ending. He's gonna rely on a deity that (get ready for this) may or may not exist to help him out of this shit. Again, very dissatisfied...
David Christensen If you replying to someone or thing that may be a figment of your imagination, then that means you may have a bigger problem than the stupid crap that you think you see typed from someone or something that may very well be a figment of your imagination.

Wow that made my feel crying. Unbelievable, bullying can be so terribly, terribly mean. But the message here is just beautiful. No matter what religion. There is always hope, that's what's told. You can call it God or Love or whatever name you believe is good to call it. As long as you believe there is hope it's easier to deal with trouble in your live. For me, the fact that we are all living here on Earth just means that it is somehow meant to be so, no matter what race, gender, sexuallity or religious background you have.
For a student film, this is technically well shot, and Oliver Stark as the chief bully is best in the cast at delivering the director’s vision. Mind you, you’ll get more of the director’s vision from the About section on youtube than you will from the film itself. And that’s because, like its message, you have to take the film on faith. Our young hero may have been helped by mother’s prayers; but it can just as equally be said Steve stood up to the bullies and effectively saved himself, as that the Lord helped by making the bullies feel guilty and run away. As for the appearance of a man in white (Samaritan? Angel?), let’s put that down to an hallucination on the part of both Steve and the director.
Nicely made film but let me go out on a limb here and guess you have never been bullied or abused. It is fine to keep your faith if that helps you through the night but the message you are giving is that it is better to be a punching bag who has faith than a pro-active person who fights for his/her rights. The reason this comes up as a gay themed video is that for most boys who are bullied the projected perception of the bully is that they are somehow the lesser man. This often translates as verbalization on the part of the bully that the person being bullied is gay or effeminate, in the misguided mind of the bully not a "real" man. You continue this perception by casting a slightly androgynous young actor who could be of any sexual stripe. At any rate I hope you keep making films and keep your faith but try to inject a little reality in your morality.
He promised that He would never leave or forsake you. So, that said, you have to remind yourself that God can do NO wrong. Yes, He does love you but when things arent going "our" way, we have to ask ourselves...where did WE miss it...not God. He doesnt miss anything. Its amazing to me how many people like to blame God for the bad things that happen, but never remember to thank Him for the GOOD things that happen.Stop putting your hand out and expecting things from Him when you dont give to Him.
to have an intelligent argument, we have to agree one a foundation. yours is and old book full of brilliant ideas like slavery is ok, treat women like cattle, and homophobia is good. it is a regurgitation of books and ideas about god characters that came long before it. how can i (or anyone) possible agree to that foundation?
It seems the director has't done anything for help. In my country when a teacher sees this only once , he has to call all of them to meet and make a contract sometimes with a policeman ,so the bullies do not dare to do that again.
Wow, that sounds interesting. It’s not like that in the UK when I was at school. The police would not be involved unless things got really bad. The most that usually happened was detention, suspension or finally expulsion. In this case the bully had been suspended as was mentioned when the boys were talking in the toilets.
God is on one side, humanity on the other... I don't care what religion he's from i feel bad... STOP BULLYING.. IT REALLY DOES HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON A PERSON'S LIFE...
I really appreciate how there is no slick Hollywood type ending, like a hero beats up the bullies or God allows some horrible thing to happen to them. I am preaching to myself more than anything, but holding on to our faith inspite of the circumstances is what matters. God knows I have done more than my share of stupid, self-destructive things because I felt that God had let me down and I was hurting. Again, I am preaching to myself more than anything.
when jesus was beaten, mock, he never fought back with words or physical. He humble himself giving an example to follow which he says " love your enemy as yourself". Fighting back will bring no beneficial instead you will grow in hate or grudge in your heart that will RUIN in all aspect of your life...... Your heart present your life.
No kidding...my mom wud have taken a broom and smashed it into pieces on the bullies and then organized her gang of peace loving aunties and stormed the bullies house..I swear she knows wrestling moves too
Why the hell did this come up in my newsfeed? It's trash. Nothing was resolved, no one benefited from this. The message seems to be to have faith in god and just accept your beatings. I'm not sure that's a lesson I care for anyone to learn.
Revolting movie. The pat, smug answer is a guy in white suit with spot light on him telling that assaulted abused boy to keep his faith???? How about bringing a million dollar lawsuit again the school and the thugs' parents, or the boy carries a weapon and uses it to even the odds and asserts his right of self defense. Or maybe you filmmakers think this is his just punishment because he honestly answered his mother that he doesn't believe when she wanted him to pray before going to the store----pray for what? that the store wasn't out of whatever she wanted her son to buy? Revolting movie.
You need to look deeper into the meaning. If you just read the words or listen to them ins book/movie then what are you getting; nothing. Look into it. This short film is about learning to know who you are and not let anyone stop you from believing in yourself. If you can't understand that, then please, don't come into a video in which you know nothing about and leave negative comments; they're not wanted.
I agree but it's not the worst video on RUclips, I watched a video of a homophobic teenager talking about why bullying is wrong, I find that video a little much worse.
Great story! Didn't like Steve (Sorry Steve) he could use some work on his facial expression and emotions. Steve's friend really wasn't needed, and the other actors could of made they're parts bigger. The message was bit confusing, but I got from it that God is always there to pick you up when you're down. Anyways great job guys! :) How long did yal have to do this?
+Kitty's Lane Steve did not ask for God's help with the situation as he didn't believe...if he had asked for help things would have turned out differently.
Barnabas Lawson Evidently you missed the part where Steve's mom read Steve's diary aloud wherein Steve had written (I paraphrase) "God you didn't listen to my prayer the first time so please listen now..." That pretty much negates your assertion that he failed to directly ask God for help.
I've been bullied since I was Three and I'm Eleven I dont get as much as I used too I was for my learning disabilities It mostly stopped when I started to stick up for myself
For people who say God didn't listen, and God isn't real because he didn't do this for me, you aren't supposed to pray for him to do "this and that". You're suppose to pray for his will to be done, and if what you pray isn't his will, then it won't happen.
I'm glad to see first the clip and read the comments after lol I was wondering if anyone find this very religious. This is totally stupid (sorry but no), like don't do anything, the lord is gonna change everything to the way it should be, don't talk to your kid, the lord will find him. OMG!!!
It's a terrible movie with a dangerous an irresponsible message: everyone should work, and create stimuli in order to make life easier and fight bullying in a real world, a concrete world, showing the legal righteous ways of dealing with violence, facing realistic alternatives to change this terrible scenario! And as far as Mr. Lawson 's question is concerned, it would really be almost impossible for a cultured and well educated democratic person NOT to consider your short movie fully suitable from a gay-friendly perspective as far as it is well known that the LGBTQ students have to face bulling in a dayly basis!
All bullies are cowards. They choose their victims from among the small and vulnerable.Never would they pick on someone their own size.Dagsworth is so pathetic he has to have an accomplice,Michael.Steven is not a coward. He is brave. He does not run away, but defends himself the best he can, surprising the bullies who are expecting submission. After they beat him up and he remains prone, the bullies become fearful they might be in trouble and turn on each other, the one blaming the other. And they leave Steven on the pavement and skulk away, hoping they will get away with it.No honor among thieves and liars,no honor among bullies either. What I do not understand is why the Principal did nothing. Is he so dense that he can't figure out that Dagsworth and Michael are the source of Steven's troubles and take action? He 's the principal, for pity's sake, and this falls within the realm of his responsibilities. Why didn't Steven's friend tell the principal? It isn't tattling. One of the basic rules re:bullies is to notify a responsible adult asap to bring the bullying to a quick end.I don't get the angel angle, but if it helps Steven, then why not?I loved the cheeky remark Steven got in when Dagsworth slammed him against the locker. That took guts.Whatever became of the actor who played Steven? He made an appealing figure of the brave and courageous "little man" who did not run away but face his adversaries.
I havent seen this video is so many years ! , I thought about it cause I seen a picture of Oliver Stark and remembered he was apart of this short film , 😅
This is a response to all the people who say God hasn't helped them. God, revealed through The Bible (The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ) does not force Himself on any one. So unless you pray to Him for help or some else does on your behalf He will not intervene in your situation. This is because He has given us free will and all that happens on earth is the responsibility of mankind. God will only help you if you come to Him and ask for His help. His will is that all be saved!

I think, even with law enforcement it’s still a matter of faith in the system and that justice will be served. As it’s always a matter of witnesses or a persons word against another. But it definitely helps if there is a good system in place to deal with bullying.
I am not sure why people are talking about gay issues as the film has nothing to do with that issue.
Gay clips bring us here lol that's why but I noticed it's no a gay clip while I was watching.
I don't know if you notice the other gay clips to your right buddy; but i didn't get here by typing in jesus freak.
Because we tend to get treated by Bigots the same was Steven gets treated .
Barnabas Lawson : Bulling issues are wide ranging :- Fat,ugly, walks funny , smelly,
Gay ,emo ,goth , or just plain Nasty... l'm sure you get where l am going with this...
it is anything & everything ,l am Gay & DEAF ! yes l have been Bullied for various
reasons ! And l know the reason you have done this to sell "God" to us ! That is your choice ! thou l don't have to agree with it ! Oh b4 l got 1 bone to pick with you , why didn't you include Subtitles in this huh ? l would have understood it better with them !
And yet the video appear on every gay video, whats up with that ?! Mistitle and mislead!
Brilliant, on so many levels! I'll let that stand as it is....
thank you
This was a good short film...I think it was to say, not to give up in hoping always...It is hard but never give up in hoping to see the good things in life...
thank you
You are welcome.
And of course, the same be applied to dads as well.
omg its the loml oliver stark (that aside this is a really good short film with a really meaningful message)
Thank you
is that my mans buckk??????
It is…
Was not expecting to see someone from 9-1-1 here! (Oliver Stark plays Buck)
Before he was famous 👀😀
His mother was consumed by religion, causing her to be neglectful and the lesson here is keep the faith!? What an outrageous outcome.
Thanks for watching
It is hard to see sometimes, and often it takes years if not decades to see anything. I spent 7 years in a hospital with constant surgeries and shots praying for the strength to get out of there while having a 50% chance to live. Now I am in my 20's and the leader of various charities and volunteer of camps for children with cancer as well as other places. Strength can be interpreted in many ways, but not always the way we intend. I hope that things get better for you and your mom,
Thanks for watching
I LUV YOU BLACK JESUS!

Regards, Nick
thank you
WAIT A MINUTE, the one who played the bully that's Oliver Stark he stars in American TV Series "9-1-1", 2:36 I knew it
Yes
This was worked out for the movie, not because of a religion. Not because of your belief either.
The only fight against a bully is telling a adult.
Fake religion doesn't stop a bully.
Thank you for watching
Very dissatisfied with the ending. He's gonna rely on a deity that (get ready for this) may or may not exist to help him out of this shit. Again, very dissatisfied...
Neonix C. Our existence is questionable not God's
Terry Cox Our existence is questionable? That's the stupidest crap I've ever heard. Unless you're just a figment of my imagination.
David Christensen If you replying to someone or thing that may be a figment of your imagination, then that means you may have a bigger problem than the stupid crap that you think you see typed from someone or something that may very well be a figment of your imagination.
You can't even formulate a logical existential argument, so that tells me all I need to know: Brainwashed zealot.
Whatever it is I'm formulating seems to be working because you keep replying.
I should have never looked at the comments. I just wanted to say this was a very touching short film.
Thank you.

THANK YOU GOD NO ONE DOES BETTER THAN YOU, YOUR SON AND MOTHER EARTH
Thanks for watching
Wow that made my feel crying. Unbelievable, bullying can be so terribly, terribly mean.
But the message here is just beautiful. No matter what religion.
There is always hope, that's what's told. You can call it God or Love or whatever name you believe is good to call it.
As long as you believe there is hope it's easier to deal with trouble in your live.
For me, the fact that we are all living here on Earth just means that it is somehow meant to be so, no matter what race, gender, sexuallity or religious background you have.
guy humiliated
Thank you for watching, appreciate it!
Thanks for watching
Thank you for watching. Appreciate your comment
Thanks for watching
It seems the director has't done anything for help. In my country when a teacher sees this only once , he has to call all of them to meet and make a contract sometimes with a policeman ,so the bullies do not dare to do that again.
Wow, that sounds interesting. It’s not like that in the UK when I was at school. The police would not be involved unless things got really bad. The most that usually happened was detention, suspension or finally expulsion. In this case the bully had been suspended as was mentioned when the boys were talking in the toilets.
My school made us sign a thing yet they still bullied me even tho we all said we wouldn't bully anyone
Sorry to hear that
God is on one side, humanity on the other... I don't care what religion he's from i feel bad... STOP BULLYING.. IT REALLY DOES HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON A PERSON'S LIFE...
Thanks for watching
Really? That is the message? "Keep your faith." Futile.
Thanks for watching
I really appreciate how there is no slick Hollywood type ending, like a hero beats up the bullies or God allows some horrible thing to happen to them. I am preaching to myself more than anything, but holding on to our faith inspite of the circumstances is what matters. God knows I have done more than my share of stupid, self-destructive things because I felt that God had let me down and I was hurting. Again, I am preaching to myself more than anything.
Thank you for watching, appreciate your comment
It was a good film about bullying, but religion is a crutch for the weak. The Christian angle, just muddied the film.
Thank you for watching, appreciate it!
when jesus was beaten, mock, he never fought back with words or physical. He humble himself giving an example to follow which he says " love your enemy as yourself". Fighting back will bring no beneficial instead you will grow in hate or grudge in your heart that will RUIN in all aspect of your life...... Your heart present your life.
Thanks for watching
No kidding...my mom wud have taken a broom and smashed it into pieces on the bullies and then organized her gang of peace loving aunties and stormed the bullies house..I swear she knows wrestling moves too
All a person needs to be a bully is the belief that you can treat someone as if they deserve lesser treatment.
True, although I’m sure as a bully, which we can all be at times, they are just thinking about themselves not the other person.
Why the hell did this come up in my newsfeed? It's trash. Nothing was resolved, no one benefited from this. The message seems to be to have faith in god and just accept your beatings. I'm not sure that's a lesson I care for anyone to learn.
Thanks for watching
May your God bless you ..... kept your faith and get beaten up untill your God come to you....👼
It’s not a perfect story just what we were able to make at the time.
Well done film. I prefer Science my self but what ever makes you happy.
Thanks for watching
Hats off amazing absolutely amazing
+Olaf Lover really appreciate your comment thank you
Revolting movie.
If you can't understand that, then please, don't come into a video in which you know nothing about and leave negative comments; they're not wanted.
i agree with you wes d. - totally stupid movie.
Angry are we ? Yes we R* Jesus Saves !
Thanks for watching
Make a number 2 :) please i Think is really good
no, one is more than enough if another one is just more dribble
Thanks for watching
Steve is cute. This film is propagating the idea that talking to the air will solve your problems.
I agree but it's not the worst video on RUclips, I watched a video of a homophobic teenager talking about why bullying is wrong, I find that video a little much worse.
Thanks for watching
Great story! Didn't like Steve (Sorry Steve) he could use some work on his facial expression and emotions. Steve's friend really wasn't needed, and the other actors could of made they're parts bigger. The message was bit confusing, but I got from it that God is always there to pick you up when you're down. Anyways great job guys! :) How long did yal have to do this?
Thank you. Not too long, a few days.
Thanks for watching
Why in the world is homosexuality being brought up in a movie which shows that God is always there for you? What the heck are you people thinking? o.O
because it shows that God Doesn't care about sexual orientation, God cares about who you are as a person. that's what i took from it.
shadowpsykie Perhaps the movie says that god is NOT always there for you. Christianity is a farce anyway.
Why can't God be with them? They're His creatures and servants too.
+Stewy Fresh some people have one track minds
There is nothing about homosexuality in this film.
“Success” is misspelled in your channel banner.
Thank you 😁😅 Oops 😅
I will change it soon
So the moral of the story is god doesn't listen to your prayers, only your mother's
The clear moral of the story is pray to God and get your ass beaten, so God can pick you up and tell you to keep believing in Him.
bullies are cowards, they pick on people who are weaker than them and think its funny when its really not. i hate bullies
Thanks for watching
OLIVER STARK WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE??
This comment is giving off
Ariana what are you doing here vibes
😁 Before he was famous
I've been bullied since I was Three and I'm Eleven I dont get as much as I used too I was for my learning disabilities It mostly stopped when I started to stick up for myself
I’m glad that’s it’s stopping now and that you are able to stand up for yourself.
so why are they beating him up?
No idea, maybe for the money, for fun, for validation as tough guys in front of the girls. Who knows why, only they do…
The fact the bully is now a firefighter ☠
Or an actor still 👀😁
And GOD helped him! YES OF COURSE HAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHHA
I agree with you.
So what happened after he had already gotten his face beat in five times, eh?
Bill Michael EXACTLY!
Ok
For people who say God didn't listen, and God isn't real because he didn't do this for me, you aren't supposed to pray for him to do "this and that". You're suppose to pray for his will to be done, and if what you pray isn't his will, then it won't happen.
then why bother praying? if the whole thing is rigged from the beginning?
Thanks for watching
loved it! really good message! people sometimes forget how much God continually loves his children
Thank you
I liked this film. Well done.
Thanks for watching
Bullies... the curse of the world !
Thanks for watching
That's a nice way of saying things. Can I quote that to write in a book I'm working on about religion?
Thanks for watching
I'm glad to see first the clip and read the comments after lol I was wondering if anyone find this very religious. This is totally stupid (sorry but no), like don't do anything, the lord is gonna change everything to the way it should be, don't talk to your kid, the lord will find him. OMG!!!
Thanks for watching
i feel bad for him a lot and his mom
Thanks for watching
The Karate Kid in the background at 24 seconds
Nice. .. faith is a good thing to have. God is in us... believe in the God that is in you
Christ in us the hope of Glory.
+Barnabas Lawson
Amen
It's a terrible movie with a dangerous an irresponsible message: everyone should work, and create stimuli in order to make life easier and fight bullying in a real world, a concrete world, showing the legal righteous ways of dealing with violence, facing realistic alternatives to change this terrible scenario! And as far as Mr. Lawson 's question is concerned, it would really be almost impossible for a cultured and well educated democratic person NOT to consider your short movie fully suitable from a gay-friendly perspective as far as it is well known that the LGBTQ students have to face bulling in a dayly basis!
Thanks for watching
Excellent production and very beautiful and inspiring! Bravo!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Ok
Very nice video
Waiting for more
don't hurt that boy please he's a good student....

Thank you for your thoughts 💭
Appreciate it!

my mom keep telling to believe in god, to pray everyday. but i didn't do it
Try reading the Bible, one of the gospels with a sincere desire to know why we are here and if it’s true!
I feel sorry for whoever has been through this
True
This is a response to all the people who say God hasn't helped them.
God, revealed through The Bible (The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ) does not force Himself on any one. So unless you pray to Him for help or some else does on your behalf He will not intervene in your situation. This is because He has given us free will and all that happens on earth is the responsibility of mankind.
God will only help you if you come to Him and ask for His help.
His will is that all be saved!
