i like the dialogue "what does he know abt what's natural to me"..straights may think homosexuality is unnatural but that is natural to the homosexuals..
I came out in 1970 at a small university in Alabama. It was a wonderful experience. It is sad that people STILL have trouble coming out, my parents threatened me with jail when they found out that I was still gay after sending me to a Psychiatrist. He had covered for me with my parents. I was very lucky, I had many friends, straight and gay who supported me. One paid for my university tuition (it was $500.00 per semester) and I left for University in 1969. My friend group supported coming out to the student body, we hoped to make it easier for closeted gays to come forward. Of course, my friends were mostly theater people, but also frat boys and jocks, many are still friends. The head of the Psychology Department asked me to answer students questions. It was both hilarious and fun, the students were curious but nice to me. I hope I had a lasting effect on their opinions about gays. How did I gather the strength to take this risk? My Dad told me at age eight "that if he thought he was raising a queer he'd kill it". I had no idea of what a queer was; it was 1958 in the deep South. But as I grew up, one thing became clear to me; being gay is as natural as breathing for me. Once I knew; I knew. I did kiss one girl, once. I was stoned in the back of a van (we were hippies at heart, just clean, well dressed hippies) I found the softness of her lips to be unpleasant. And that was it for me! If homosexuality wasn't natural, why are we being born in every culture, in every time period? We hardly ever breed, yet here we are...

You are exactly right. It was my supportive friends who made it possible to handle my parent's extreme reaction to finding out that I was gay. It was my friends that supported coming out at University in 1970. I wasn't out in high school, but I was straight-passing and very popular, especially with girls. (oddly, no one questioned why I didn't date) My close friends and faculty knew that I was gay. I lived in Panama City Beach, every summer I worked with my favorite teachers in a restaurant. I could be myself with them, it was truly wonderful.
If you base your love on good looks, you're in for a sad life. Looks can change real quick - one accident, one illness, the ageing process etc. Character, however, is permanent. Hopefully, you'll realise this sooner rather than later.
I had one, my best friend became my lover in High School in 1965. Our relationship was very loving, and it still is. He couldn't imagine living as a gay man in the 1960's. He married my Sister. I loved both of them more than any people on earth, so I was their best man in 1973. We never talk about it, we don't need to. They are still together. We still love each other. Roelant Frijns Do you know "Romeo and Juliet"? It's the William Shakespeare play that apparently inspired the name of this movie. It's considered the greatest love story of all time, and has the love between a boy and a girl who were children of rival families. Spoilers below: the end is very sad, both dead. Does the fact that the two do not "end being together" took some of the brilliance of this story? Think about it.
Uber Azure I hate Romeo and Juliet personally. They met, get married and die for each other in less than 5 days. It is not the greatest love story of all time. I know I'm gonna get hate for this but what can I say. In my opinion, Shakespeare has better plays than this.
Uber Azure Of course I know Romeo and Juliet. It doesn't matter if they end being together or not, as I don't think it effects the quality of a story, but it would just be refreshing to see a gay short with a 'happy ever after'-ending.
Happiness is being able to love yourself intensely, free of dependency and controlling behavior. Why not respect Matt condition for a while. He must have not ready for public drama, but Matt love to be with Tyler alone genuinely. Matt is truthful of his current situation, and is not yet ready yet. So why the immature, dependent, and controlling Tyler push out Matt for public drama - because that is the current emotional debt that Tyler is into. Tyler is a diva type gay, while Matt is a James Dean type. Not really compatible with each other. Tyler is even a dishonest to Matt, Sam, and pastor Harvey. Actually this is the trouble with some gays who are driven by their controlling attitude; always seeking for validation and acceptance from public insults. Gays are still living with emotional discrimination in first world, not really in the third world if you research. Gay-gay relationship should dwell on respect, acceptance, genuine love, patience, living real, honesty, and love for the person.
