  • We had been to Steamboat to ride bikes a few times, but we somehow never hit Emerald Mountain. After riding these trails, and having ridden others here like Flash of Gold, Grouse, and Soda Mountain, as well as the bigger backcrountry rides in the area, I'd have to classify Steamboat as a premier mtb town.
We started this day with a super easy climb up to Quarry, which was a sleeper trail. I figured it would just be a quick way to connect to NPR. Dang, did it turn out to be a rippin trail!
We then hit Little Moab (which is appropriately named ) before we dropped into NPR. Dang, is this trail fun. My Remedy felt perfectly at home sending these super fun, non-intimidating table tops.

Awesome to see this trail Dusty!! I raced the 50mile XC race there last year and we climbed some of those same trails and descended Little Moab, but I had never seen NPR. I’ll definitely have to go back and hit this!

This was our first time on Emerald! So many great trails over there, a 50 mile race would be so fun (but let's not pretend 50 miles wouldn't absolutely kill me).
Good for you dude. And yeah, definitely check it out!

@@DustyTrailsMTB It killed me too haha.
Super stoked you're back on RUclips. I remember watching your Buff Creek video before going there during my first few months of riding MTB, it definitely helped me get hooked on the sport I now love. Your content is absolutely top notch!

You go off the jumps on NPR and don't execute like you want to and are like, "Eff!" And I'm like, "So much effin better than me..." lol

I'm a pretty harsh critic of myself. It makes failures pretty tough sometimes, but it makes me try harder, too!

At the time of shooting this, they were 820mm. Just trimmed em down to 800mm. We'll see how that feels!
