Is that why Rick was in the suicide group? Good to know that had an explanation. Just like the soldiers not checking the truck. It still doesn't make sense for Waller to use a group of super villains rather than mere prisoners as a distraction.

I like to think it's because of the first movie. He was compromised by falling for June, went rogue with a bunch of supervillains, and even though they defeated Incubus and Enchantress, she now had proof that Flag's loyalties could sway. Putting him in the suicide team would make the villains in that group believe they were the real team since he was leading them and it meant that she could get rid of him quietly - along with Harley and Boomerang, who'd been there with him in Midway City - without causing an incident.
