- We caught up with Eric 'E-Panda' Hernandez, drummer for Bruno Mars, just after their soundcheck at The O2 Arena on 21.11.13. He talked us through his setup & shared some great advice with us, which we're now excited to share with you! So big shout out to Eric for being so welcoming to us, it was an absolute pleasure to chat with him! Eric plays DW drums & Sabian cymbals.

Craig Burns I read that the NFL didn't allow the band to play their instruments. A pre-recorded track was used to back Bruno's live singing, just like with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There was no time to set up everything and do a soundcheck, so the instruments just weren't played live.

This kit looks like a beauty! If I were Eric, I would just add an extra bass drum and a kick pedal. I think that would people very happy if it was a double bass kit! Just a suggestion.

If he wanted the all black look, he could've used Remo Black Max heads on his snare. The thickness eliminates the need for tape/moongel, and the snare becomes insanely sensitive and it just projects.
It was surprised that Popstars from today still have an actual drummer and not computer drums

Well, I do think the gold looks cheap and tacky. But I knew, this being youtube, that people would jump on any opinion, hence I have the caveat that my issue is not with the drummer, as he obviously deserves to be in the position he is in.
I gotcha, I love my white acrylic kit with brass hardware as it looks classy as fuck! But yeah man agree to disagree. The drummer is dope though.
Those Remo heads are a rip off of Evans Black chrome... Another reason why i won't buy remo.
Actually, they aren't. Black Chrome is actually a copy of the underside of a Black Suede. The Black Suede has been available since 2008. The new Ebony Emperor is an addition to the Ebony line of film that has been available since 1984 - Remo on "Remo: Emperor Ebony".
Remo has been making heads in general longer than Evans. They came out with Ebony Emperors because it was the only line at Remo that didn't have an Ebony set.
