    If I had that kit set up in my garage people would think that I'd died because I would never be seen again. Well that's not totally true, all my neighbours would know I wasn't dead:-).

      if you had Lang's set-up, the neighbours wouldn't hear you either. Pretty sure that room is well isolated and he lives in the burbs.

I just love your drumming, your style of drumming, your talent and your personality. God Bless you my friend. I am very curious about your sticks as well, I think I may purchase a pair of them when I have a few dollars saved up. I have many health dysfunctions and so I'm on a very small disability each month, and so I'm quite poor. I play for my church now, but I have been drumming for over 40 yrs now, 20 semi-pro and professionally. But, I think you are just great man, talented but a good sense of humor as well, that's awesome. Take care Thomas and I hope to buy a pair of your sticks soon :)

      ***** HeyTorreylee, it's not about being the best or better than everybody else. It's about enjoying what you do and about living your passion. It's about doing what you love and being true to yourself. There's never anyone "better" than you at being yourself.
      If what you say were true then I would be just as frustrated as you.
      Same goes for everyone else. Vinnie Colaiuta would feel frustrated when he sees George Kollias' feet and Steve Gadd would want to give up when he sees Chris Coleman. It's not a competition. It's all about personality, nuance, creativity, flow, energy, inspiration and most of all: Music.

    YO TOM!!! Love the ‘bits and pieces’ you add to your kit to give you your unique sound combinations ... GOD KNOWS where you get your speed from! I have a severely damaged right wrist that has had 7 rather bone crushing operations on (The initial injury happened before I started playing drums) so my ‘technique’ has always been compromised. The only way I can describe your scarey technique is that you must be a Sith Lord! As Palpatine said to Anakin Skywalker ‘The dark side is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural!!’ .... Your amazing to watch mate!! Keep it up!!! 👊🏻👊🏻

    A class act with a full bag of Drum Workshop® Collector's Series™ gear, right down to the May Mics so popular in the studio. BTW, what happened to the previous Sonor®/Hohner® kit? I found that Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH canned production of some of the Giant Step™ pedals - I wanted to get one of those worth-every-dollar Twin Effect Pedals (Hohner® C/N GTEP), which newcomers to the task haven't approached in performance and durability - for poor sales.

    The tour of the kit finishes three weeks after the tour with the band does. This is..... how can I put it? Where is there a clip of Thomas playing kick (one) snare (not three) hats (less than his usual FIVE) rack, floor, ride and two (okay, three if he feels nervous) crash cymbals. He is one of the best drummers I've seen, but he has too many drums.

    1:58 correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't those Octobans?

    • @ThomasLang00
      @ThomasLang00  9 лет назад +13

      Nope. Octobans are acrylic drums made by Tama and come in a set of 8 (hence "Octo"- bans). Octobans have the head stretched flush over the shell like a gong drum. These Drum Workshop drums here are "Rata-toms" (Not "Roto toms" made by Remo either) and they are 6" diameter tube-drums 12-18 inches deep. They are made from maple shells and have a rim just like any regular tom/snare. They are tune-able to a specific pitch like any single-headed drum.

    • @saxdrummer92
      @saxdrummer92 9 лет назад

      Wow I've been completely mixed up, thanks for the clarification!

    • @BrunodeSouzaLino
      @BrunodeSouzaLino 9 лет назад +1

      Stick Trix Octobans can be bought in sets of two and four, stand included. Also, Octobans have tuning screws as well, so you can tune them to pitches, however, the pitch of an Octoban-type drum (be it Rata-Toms, Octobans, Rocket Toms, Cannon Drums or Deccabons) is determined by the shell depth, since all the models mentioned are 6" in diameter.

    • @Trutadrummer
      @Trutadrummer 9 лет назад

      Dominick Zipoli Nope, its not cause of eight, its just name of this type of drum of Tama. I think, its the same product, but different name, depends on factory. I think, RataToms, Octobans, Rocket Toms, Deccabons and many more are the same, but from different companies.

    • @BrunodeSouzaLino
      @BrunodeSouzaLino 9 лет назад

      Trutadrummer The only different thing I've seen so far is a bunch of SONOR prototype drums that Gavin Harrison is now using with King Crimson. They are pretty much Octobans, but they're 8" in diameter and have a resonant head too.
