“Might is right”, such a nuanced response. We live in a deeply unequal and non-meritocratic world where a tiny elite live as parasites sucking the life out of the host. It’s true that no-one cedes privilege. Mao made the same point when he said that power comes from the barrel of a gun. As the last working class demographic to actually benefit capitalism - that is to say, Boomers - die out, and material conditions continue to decline, liberal ideology will be increasingly abandoned for socialism, and we’ll stop asking for people to cede their privilege and simply take it from them.
