    That's why i always use long needle for masseter injection. Thank you for these great informations ! From now on, i will drive a line to the mental crease instead of oral commissure !

    Can you please discuss the studies showing botox causing bone loss? I know the human study was small, short-term, and related to the masseter and jawbones, but I'd love to hear your thoughts especially regarding botox in other common facial areas.

      The theory is when you have less pressure going through the bone because you have weakened the muscle you can get a reduction in bone loss.
      I’m not aware of it happening anywhere else on the face.

      It's not the botox itself it's the lack of use of the muscle. Same reason they encourage weight bearing exercise to avoid osteoporosis.

    Thanks for this doctor!
    Can I just ask, when you are marking up then from the mental crease, do you still draw to the tragus/ear lobe?

    Hi is it normal that my injector only injected into only one spot on my muscle, rather than multiple spots? (30 units dysport each side)

      Probably not the average treatment, but it could be right for you- were you happy with the result?

    I've had masseter botox 1 month ago, I've been injected 3 separate times over the month, 30 units each side, the muscle has stopped contracting so much but I haven't noticed any slimming effect is this normal?

    • @rj3899
      @rj3899 3 года назад +3

      Might take longer for slimming effects, the muscle needs to have been relaxed for a while for slimming to happen. For me it took 2 months to notice a difference. Also, maybe you need a top up as well if it's still not smaller.

      It may take several treatments over a course of time. Once you get the therapeutic dosage, return every three months. Think of it like a deeper set wrinkle. It needs treatment over time to soften. You also don’t want to overly freeze the muscle. I imagine this is the reason for bone loss ( an assumption). Also it’s not always a drastic difference to face shape, with anything else there are several factors to your facial anatomy and resulting appearance. Hope that helps!
