We have had a lot of Polish workers here in Sweden and just about none know English. I’ve had many hilarious conversations yelling in Swenglish and gestures while they mostly just answer in polish like I’m supposed to understand lol.
For a guy who clearly speaks very little English, I think he did a pretty good job of communicating what he wanted to say, no matter how broken it may have sounded.
Ten seconds wasn't even ultra fast in the '90s. Eights and Nines was ultra fast for front wheel drive cars in the 90s. Mark Brauning and Kenny Tran were running low eight second runs in the late '90s. Ten years ago, you could buy cars from dealerships that would run 10s.
I was there on Saturday and helped Lamik Team a tiny beat with logistics of the whole trip. The car was prepped for over 1300hp before their head let go, then crazy scramble to get hold of spare head and mount it overnight. Due to lack of sleep a socket was left inside the valve cover which then took out their special cam shaft and all hope was lost of winning this event ... but they persevered 🍻

We don't have a single professional track in Poland. Almost all events are held on non-prepped surfaces of airfields. I'm really glad to see the cars being more and more pro, especially since I run a drag championship in Poland with a bunch of mates since 2017 already!
In the UK it's called a vauxhall nova. You should check out some of the other Opel/vauxhall drag cars in Europe there are some crazy builds. Andrew crank has a 4wd vauxhall Corsa b, Saab 2.3t engine with Audi running gear and dsg. Crazy build
If you've never been to Poland, plan on making a trip. It's been 7 years since I've been there but it was an awesome trip to Gdansk. The dollar was very strong (incredible dinners with lots of drinks were $50), everyone was friendly, liked Americans and they had the best looking women of any country I've ever been to by a mile. Poland also knows how to hotrod and go very fast. Great video. Na Zdrowie!

So for those wondering what's going on with the wheelie bars they appear to be helping him with traction given how low they are. I'm assuming the tires are spinning so fast they are stretching and also raising the front end causing them to lose traction.
Rear suspension is also very, very soft. Sometimes just motorcycle struts. Everything possible in the rear is stripped out or moved to the front. You can push the wheelie bar to the ground with just a few fingers. As soon as the car leaves it's riding on those small wheels in effect doubling its wheelbase.
That is awesome. Just think he had to travel 1000 miles to race on a good track. Anyone who has a local track, feel lucky. As tracks close all over the US, we all need to support your local track.
They have to have strips in Poland. This is like European World Cup. It's not like Puerto Ricans come to WCF because they don't have tracks. They come to kick ass.

So lots of people from all over Europe go to Santa Pod because it's one of the very very few prepped strips in Europe. I live in Belgium btw, so I know first hand, we have I think two strips in my country, there used to be one close to me over the French border, but it got shut down because of noise, and anyways all of those were just concrete old airplane strips, very dusty and slippery too because only used like twice a year for events... And in the rest of tracks, lots are not very flat, too short for 1/4, etc basically most aren't really ideal for proper 1/4 mile times, one reason or another.

Hell of a nice build! Hard to go wrong with a VR!!! Especially a boosted 3.6l 'big block.' 😎 I have had a few built VR's in the past and not only is the sound intoxicating, but the torque is responsible for destroying trannies, and axles especially LOL. One of mine was only around 500whp and it was brutal. I can't imagine keeping this one together at that power level. HD axles and for three pedal cars hardened gear set is mandatory no doubt. Great job on this weapon, and solid driving. Thanks for sharing this! 👍

In the UK this car was called Vauxhall Nova, it was very popular back in the 80s. . Original engines made a massive 45 hp for 1.0L and 55hp for 1.2L. Great to see the guys drive this so far and make cool passes in the 1/4 mile.
So it sounds like thats a 3.2 VR6 from a Cayenne with a crank from a 2.8 12v or 24v. De-stroke the 3.2 to a 3.0 and go from a cast crank to a forged crank. Factory forged 2,8 cranks can handle this power and the shorter stroke lets the engine rev higher and take advantage of that cylinder head. The R30 is the VR6T combo for 1000hp+
@@s2upidYeah just the BMX code IIRC, and the BJS in the mk4 R32. MK5 R32/A3 have cast BUB's. At the end of the day he was looking for the shorter stroke, those cast cranks arent exactly weak.

@wobblysauce Most runs were 2.2 to 2.4 bar boost, but due to stock head it wasn't bringing expected power gains.

In fact we have some drag racing competitions in PL, but we don't have proper dragstrip like Santa Pod.

I'd say the trq steer probably dials that toe out under load.
