The car was prepped for over 1300hp before their head let go, then crazy scramble to get hold of spare head and mount it overnight.
Due to lack of sleep a socket was left inside the valve cover which then took out their special cam shaft and all hope was lost of winning this event ... but they persevered 🍻

Rear suspension is also very, very soft. Sometimes just motorcycle struts. Everything possible in the rear is stripped out or moved to the front. You can push the wheelie bar to the ground with just a few fingers. As soon as the car leaves it's riding on those small wheels in effect doubling its wheelbase.

Most european countries don't have proper prepped strip, mostly old airplane strips, bare concrete... So lots of people from all over Europe go to Santa Pod because it's one of the very very few prepped strips in Europe. I live in Belgium btw, so I know first hand, we have I think two strips in my country, there used to be one close to me over the French border, but it got shut down because of noise, and anyways all of those were just concrete old airplane strips, very dusty and slippery too because only used like twice a year for events...
And in the rest of tracks, lots are not very flat, too short for 1/4, etc basically most aren't really ideal for proper 1/4 mile times, one reason or another.

So it sounds like thats a 3.2 VR6 from a Cayenne with a crank from a 2.8 12v or 24v. De-stroke the 3.2 to a 3.0 and go from a cast crank to a forged crank. Factory forged 2,8 cranks can handle this power and the shorter stroke lets the engine rev higher and take advantage of that cylinder head. The R30 is the VR6T combo for 1000hp+

The R32 engine and early (2004-2005) Touareg 3.2 engines had a forged crank here in the US.

@@s2upidYeah just the BMX code IIRC, and the BJS in the mk4 R32. MK5 R32/A3 have cast BUB's. At the end of the day he was looking for the shorter stroke, those cast cranks arent exactly weak.
