I remember when I first started playing bass that using the 4 note technique was very effective for me. I like the looking for chords idea a lot I'll have to think more about that when I'm jamming. I've recently started playing regularly again and love spicing it up with ideas from all around. Great video!

Thank you! Following the chords can be so effective when building a melody and sometimes it's just about keeping it simple and choosing one chord note to begin with and then try out some more. Thanks for watching.

Isolating those 4 notes like you did here is great, but I notice that I don't sound anywhere as good as you within those four notes. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to do a lesson with just four notes, and explore the technique possibilities within just those four notes.

Hey Juan, yes you've got a point there. I might do a lesson on that at some point. I have obviously been working on those things for a long time and I promise you that if you do this every day it will start sounding better and better. It is really difficult to come up with new ideas when you limit yourself like that but definitely possible 🙂
