The one I really like is the dark jungle animals themed! Even if it's not bright, the coloring and the image is so pretty.

I just bought two of the Areaware puzzles I saw on one of your previous videos. They are beautiful! When I see a ginormous puzzle, I'm not filled with dread, anxiety, or excitement. I'm just in AWE that a human being can put together such a difficult puzzle. I'd love to do the Murder at Bedford Manor puzzle and solve the mystery at the same time.
The mystery was actually super fun and a great twist on a puzzle!

1:24 - 'Mountain' was the first monthly puzzle I received from Completing The Puzzle! It was relatively easy.
I have 2 Ravensburger "Sort & Go" stacks of sorting trays, and I find them very helpful. They are all a rather dark blue, and they say 1 stack of trays is good for up to 1,000 pieces, but I use the set of 2 for 1,000 - 1,500 piece puzzles, so I can spread them out more. They are also handy for later stages of the puzzle, when you have to sort by gradients for large areas of the same color.
totally agree with you about having a neutral background for sorting trays. I use cookie sheets with a really shallow rim for mine. they probably stack, although I've never tried that, but they work great for sorting.

I love the animal puzzle is my favorite one but I also agree about enjoying colorful puzzles.
A large puzzle is exciting for me, but then I get disappointed knowing that I wouldn't be able to physically handle the scope of it. Thanks for sharing your insights on puzzles, and I love your enthusiasm for them!
I just did a 1000 piece puzzle of Van Gogh's Le Cafe Le Soir. You may not like the color scheme, but I just really enjoyed solving the puzzle by studying the brush strokes.

I know this video is old, but I always give my old puzzles away, so I never have a supply of box tops to use for pieces. What I did is I bought a bunch of large plastic serving trays at the Daiso store nearby (Japanese version of a dollar store) They're meant to be serving trays, but they're just clear plastic and about 11" x 14". I got a bunch of them for just a couple of dollars. They are so handy when working on puzzles or any type of craft where I need to keep bits sequestered, or protect my workspace from paint and resin spills. :D If they eventually get ruined, no big deal.

Not sure if you've tried them but the Jan van Haasteren puzzles are my favourite and so much fun! Very busy and just so much to look at. Also the Wentworth puzzles are great, they have unique themed piece shapes and it's just so satisfying to put them in

When I see you get a huge piece puzzle, I'm filled with excitement. When I see one for myself, I'm filled with dread. Although I think we are going to start using your sorting techniques which should make the 1000 pieces go more swiftly.
I am filled with excitement. I have not worked on a puzzle that's over 1000 in about a decade (age12ish) last and only one was 1500 of winnie a pooh and friends and each piece had little photos from the books. I spent most of middle school and high school reading and college was spent painting/drawing.
I did buy a 3000 puzzle of Hogwarts and a 1027 piece puzzle of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame it's a light to dark cityscape.
Im definitely filled with excitement when seeing huge puzzles! My favourite is first mountain one!

I get excited when I have a large puzzle to do. You have a lovely collection, I lost a large box, like 24x24 size with about 18-20 puzzles in a flood at my house, was very sad. I just wish they were not so expensive. I would also wish when people donate open puzzles to thrift stores, they would either bag the pieces or at least tape the box closed, i hate buying a puzzle and having pieces missing. Thanks for your videos.

I did watch pretty much all 5 parts! I used to do puzzles until I became disabled and I nearly cried when I couldn't do one at Christmas when the kids came home. I recently picked up a couple at Goodwill because I have a Wysocki coloring book that is short on detail. Now I have discovered that a 1000 piece puzzle doesn't necessarily have 1000 pieces (I thought I'd count them before seeing if I could do one). I think the Ravensburger giant Disney puzzle is awesome but not for me, lol. I did order a Ravensburger puzzle but it's okay if I can't do it. I thought I'd seen you before and I think it must have been in another video because you went to the same school as my DIL. (It was driving me nuts as I never watched puzzle videos.) Thanks for showing all your puzzles.

I'm almost as excited as you are!!! I agree with you if you don't love it don't do it. You have too many other puzzles to work on. My favorite is the Murder at Bedford Manor. That is going on my Christmas list!!! I haven't done a gradient puzzle but I would be excited to see a 2000 or 3000 piece puzzle. Maybe you could use those trays for initial sorting?? But I agree they are very small. Congrats on all your new puzzles? Hope you have room to store them. Sorry I've written so much!!

When I see a gigantic puzzle I'm often filled with disappointment because they are usually really expensive, I don't have the table space and am not comfortable on the floor for long periods of time, and don't have the time with a toddler now. Also I have nowhere to do puzzles that the toddler and my cats can't get at it and ruin or lose pieces lol. But I've never done a puzzle bigger than a thousand pieces and I want to do one so bad!

Those roll up mats (the felt ones, at least, as thats all I can find here) are shit. They don't lay completely flat and the lumps and creases make it really hard to work on, when rolled up the pieces fall out too easily, and I would still need to lay it out to work and I said I don't have table space and am not comfortable on the floor.
@@crochetingcanuck I totally agree with you, I bought one from Herrschners, and the felt was too thin, not worth the price charged. 😞

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is how some of the companies don't seem to have a random cut to their puzzle. For instance the Cloudberries gradient appears to have the exact same in/out cut for every piece making it much more difficult to know if a piece is in the correct place.
Hooray for part 5! Your channel has inspired me to branch out and try new brands including Cloudberries.
I use cookie sheets to sort my pieces. I spray paint white or leave them gray if I am doing a puzzle with lots of white or really light colored pieces. I am sad thinking of you doing your puzzles alone. Teach a friend your method of sorting, etc. Then you can converse and laugh while you two out the puzzle together.

When you revealed the 5000 piece I got nervous for some reason lol. I love your collection and wish I could ever attempt a puzzle over 1000 pieces.
It depends on the picture. If it's a picture puzzle, I'm filled with dread. If it's an illustration one, I'm filled with excitement. However, anything over 2k pieces won't fit on the table I'm using, so I haven't tried that yet.

I have never done a puzzle with more than 1000 peices. don't have the space for more then that. Love seeing all the different puzzles you have though.
I bought a set of cardboard nesting trays. I really like them, the sizes are good and the background is just neutral cardboard colour
I think I would be so ecstatic to do a giant puzzle IF I was in college or younger...but since I’m so busy now, I think giant puzzles make me anxious because I know I’m going to want to drop everything to do the puzzle but I can’t do it will just sit in unfinished limbo forever ...

The trays look nice but would be better for storing craft supplies or something.
I like to do puzzles by myself also. I love the farm scene, but wow, too many pieces for me. 5,000 piece gradient 😮.
I do get excited when I get them, sometimes when I open them im like wow this is gonna be Hard. BUT I only do 1000 pieces, someday soon ill have to get a bigger one. there is a space / Galaxy one that is great & is 3000 pieces.
I’m inspired to buy a puzzle, I can’t lie! I have such a small apartment I would love to hear more about the foam boards and any other system you would advise people to use. Most of us can’t finish a puzzle in one sitting, LOL!

Hi I was thinking of getting a puzzle to start jigsawing, lol I think I may go with a 500 piece to start as well. I know that Ravensburger is supreme quality but was also wondering what you thought of the quality of the readily available buffalo brand, also tell me what you think of the white mountain brand as I heard they're really nice quality as well?

The only puzzle my sister and I have never finished was the Mickey Mouse shaped Mickey puzzle. It’s like hundreds of iterations of Mickey Mouse all crammed in a Mickey shaped puzzle. It’s all white with black lines. Have you ever done that one?

i checked out that company that made the 5,000 piece one at the end and they have a 1,000 piece changing colors puzzle witch looks really cool but also terrifying but its more than what im used to paying for puzzles so ill probably pass.
If I think that the puzzle looks cool then I will be really excited but if it something like a gradient I would probably be filled with dread. (not a fan of gradients)

I like the. Ideas of the trays but like you they’re too small and need to be neutral. I use three trays that are white.
I've been getting Bits & Pieces catalogs for many years but I am very disappointed with them. The catalogs used to be filled almost entirely of jigsaw puzzles. Now I would say less than 25% of their catalogs are puzzles of any kind. Also when you order from them, you will get catalogs in the mail from other companies that have nothing to do with jigsaw puzzles.. They give out your name and address to these companies.

What do you do with all your puzzles? Whould you consider sharing them? I am disable, but love doing puzzles. I do them everyday. They are expensive to keep buying. I try to get them used. If you want to think about it. Paying to ship them to and from you might be less expensive than buying them. A large puzzle swap 😁 Something to think about.
I have few questions for you as a fellow puzzler... Why do you need the picture to put a jigsaw together? Why do you hate photo jigsaws with sky or one color parts? Where is the challenge in the jigsaws you just show?
Please, Karen, just give us your objective opinion. Some puzzlers like dramatic scenes (dark), realistic scenes.
Keep up the good work, otherwise. 😉
