    You're totally correct on the removal of the card, we felt the waste wasn't really worth it and printed the message on the bag instead. 😃🍻

    I’ve never done a Blue Kazoo puzzle, but after seeing this, I HAVE to get my hands on one! The packaging, the marketing/ branding, the puzzles pieces themselves… they really knocked this brand refresh out of the park.
    The black cardboard and matte finish…. And the RESEALABLE BAG?! Ugh-I’m obsessed. 🤤

      I just had a look at the website. I shouldn't have 😂 Love them all. Sadly they are so far out of my price range, and I didn't even look into shipping costs to NZ. Can I get your opinion on quality versus price compared to some of the high end local manufacturers?

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  5 месяцев назад +2

      @@TimRachel I think shipping to NZ makes up a bit unreachable - someone commented that it was quite expensive. I'm hoping the company can negotiate better shipping rates - but they can only do that with larger sale numbers. They had a few available on Amazon US when I looked but none of the new ones. Perhaps that's a venue for them to be able to sale more worldwide. With the %15 off discount code, the Patterns jigsaw puzzle came down to $45 NZD which is the same price as Piece House, a high end NZ manufacturer. So I think their price for the quality is very fair. It's the shipping to NZ that makes it difficult to purchase for us. Hopefully they can get some more affordable shipping rates soon.

    I love love ❤️ Blue Kazoo and have many of them from pre-redesign and even more post-redesign. I was so happy that they aren’t glossy anymore as that was my primary “issue” also the overall size of the rectangular puzzles is a bit smaller, which I also appreciate. I do hope they bring the travel series to the new design. I have many of the 250 count as well. Congrats on the new additions to your puzzle collection!!

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  5 месяцев назад +2

      The "false fits" I encountered were really my fault - I was sloppy. So one does need to pay attention and there is a lot of light blue which took time. Once I started to pay more attention to the pieces, I could easily see that the prongs all seem to have a little bit of a distinct shape which is helpful for so much solid colour. And yes, they were very generous indeed!

    Ive never bought their puzzles, mostly cuz i never see any on sale, but the picnic puzzle looked like pieces were a little gappy in the fit. • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  5 месяцев назад +1

      I will definitely be building more on the channel. I wonder if the gapiness shows more to you because of the black backing maybe peeking through??? I did have to be careful with the light blue but I felt that the 2-3 false fits I had were really my own fault, only closer inspection, it was obvious to me that the piece didn't go there. I was able to pick up sections and pick up with the puzzle but it is looser them some other brands and I wouldn't be able to pick it up twice for example.

    Hi there- I’m currently working on Starfield and I am making really slow progress. I’m 2 or 3 weeks in, with no end in sight. I swear there are pieces missing or mismatched pieces or something. I’m glad you are enjoying the brand, however, I’ve done several, and despite the great quality and images, I just don’t enjoy the experience.
    I provided a polite-but-negative, one star review on their site for Starfield and they don’t seem to be posting it. Blue Kazoo is just too gimmicky for me, and I don’t trust a brand that puts positive reviews front and center, while limiting the negative ones. I’m moving on to other great products!
    Thanks for your channel!

      I'm sorry you are struggling with Starfield and don't enjoy this puzzling experience. Looking at Starfield, I will admit that I would not attempt it myself. That is an expert level of puzzling that I would not want to even attempt so good on you for trying. I wouldn't even know what to recommend to help you out with that image. Perhaps sort all the pieces by shape, find a completed image online and then use it as a solution key. But that just sounds tedious and not puzzling fun.
      I looked on their website and couldn't find your 1 star review however, I did find other 1 star and low rating reviews on other puzzles. Many do have 5 stars. So I can't speak to whether or not they are hiding your review but I did find a 1 start review posted Feb 7, 2024 which is recent. I wonder if somehow your review didn't properly go through and you could try again. Just a thought...
      Again, sorry you are not enjoying this puzzle, I say move on! There are definitely more puzzles in the world to not waste your time building one you don't like.

    Nice video, great review of the brand. They look really nice and obviously amazing quality.
    Have I ever done one - no.
    In my world they are cost prohibitive. They are twice the price (plus shipping - and I don't know how much shipping is without filling out the entire checkout form) of other high quality puzzles - Elena Essex, Art & Fable etc. Two and a half times as expensive as Ravensburger and other mid price brands.
    I'm sure they are awesome, but price has to be a consideration when comparing brands. I understand that price is relative to where you live, different price points in different parts of the world.
    For me these are just too expensive to even "buy one to try".
    Looking forward to your next videos. ❤

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are definitely I would say 3 classes of puzzles based on price - budget (Holdson), standard (Ravensburger) and premium (Pintoo). This is a premium brand and yes, the cost will prevent some from purchasing. I do have a 15% off discount code - received it after the video was done so I didn't mention it but it is at the top of the description. I tend to think of premium brands for gifts either for myself (birthdday/Christmas) or for others. Not something I purchase on the regular either as they add up. But then again, I will spend the money on a Pintoo puzzle if I love the image. I do understand though that this is my "job" and so I am perhaps more open to spending money on puzzles which cost more. I just ordered my first Soonness puzzle which was pricier than Blue Kazoo. But I am willing to pay at least once for a premium brand to try them out - I do get to make a video out of it though but then get either super happy or super sad depending on the experience. But you gave me an idea for a video - comparing brands based on price - like comparing a few budget brands against one another, and same for standard and premium brands. Are there budget brands out there just as good or better than the other classes? A bit hard if I don't have access to all brands but I could work with what I do have. Hmmm...

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles With respect, I think Pintoo, being plastic, is a different product (and significantly less expensive than Blue Kazoo). Wooden puzzles are also a different product.
      Soonness and Blue Kazoo are in the same price point for me. These are cardboard puzzles, very good cardboard puzzles I'm sure, but just normal puzzles. I'm not sure what makes them so much better than other really good brands. Are they really 2.5 times better than Magnolia?
      I understand that there is obviously a market for them. I'm not saying others shouldn't enjoy them. I just think price has to be a consideration.

      @@Dexter-ns4of I didn't even think about Pintoo being plastic - which does make them standout even more and explain the higher price. And yes, wooden puzzles are a league of their own. I saw a 40 piece wooden puzzles for like $30 NZD - sorry but I won't pay that! Why are Soonness and Blue Kazoo more expensive than Magnolia if they are of the same quality...??? Good question. I would like to see how much Soonness and Blue Kazoo would costs here in NZ if we had a reseller. We finally just got one for Magnolia and I can get them for $50 NZD. I'm not sure how much Soonness and Blue Kazoo would retail for here on their own...?? I guess their could be two points of view - just the puzzle or the puzzle and the puzzling experience (unboxing, poster, little extras)...? All great discussion points. You have given me so many ideas for a video - it's like anything we buy, what are people willing to pay and why. Like I won't pay a lot for a t-shirt but I will for shoes because I think they are more important. And I would say although good for mental health, puzzles are a luxury item compared to like food and housing, so what are we willing to spend on them and why? I think this would have different answers or many people.

I hope the company grows (but can only do that with more sales) so they can negotiate better worldwide shipping rates.

    🧩as someone who buys a lot of second hand puzzles i prefer boxes that have DECENT SIZED full images on both sides of the box and a poster.
    🧩 there are so many people who donate their puzzles but keep the posters for themselves leaving the next owner with the box alone.

      I never even thought about that!!! Oh...would people really keep the poster and then denote the puzzle without it knowing that the image on the box was too small??? I suppose it probably does happen. I don't buy many secondhand puzzles - just do to availability and wanting to do a variety of brands and puzzle types - so this has never happened to me. But I would be very frustrated if this happened. You have a valid point then about having both the box being a decent size with full image as well as having a poster. I wonder if companies have a high-resolution image of the puzzle for people to download, refer and potentially print...??

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles 🧩i have learned to enjoy the mystery of doing puzzles without an image, i was terrified when i first began puzzling.
      🧩 i am most sad when i purchase a multi pack (like the Disney/Ceaco 4 packs) and the posters aren't in there and the only image on the box is tiny because it's being shared with the other puzzles in the pack.
      This is the saddest for me...i love me those Ceaco multi packs.🧩🧩🧩🧩
