Nice video, thanks for the update. I remember when you first purchased there in TN! Not to be snarky but "all it takes is $$$" for all those other properties you showed us. If I remember you were responsible for the well, bringing the electric in putting in the septic etc...that is all a good junk of $$$ before you even develop/clear the property! Lots to consider before signing on the dotted line.

I’ve have lived in the mountains of Idaho for about 30 years and love the fact that there are no venomous snakes here unless they hitch a ride coming up from the valley. But that’s quite rare because of all the hayfields that are here locally. Heard of only one rattlesnake encounter at a horse riding stable in the area… It hitched a ride from out of the area. Similar to boats with invasive species on them. The boat launches are monitored regularly for that reason.… So far so good.👏👏👏
You never mentioned southern humidity… Yuck. Another plus out here in the northwest. Low humidity💕💕.

Sorry about the fire ants having grown up in Texas I really feel for you. Right now we are actually spending two weeks at Paradise Landing (in a VRBO spot) was inspired by one of your old videos. Its been great fun so far watching sunsets and catching a few fish.

Hard to believe that something so teeny tiny can cause so much pain. Wow! That's crazy.

Ask the county co-op office if there is any ground cover you can plant, which would repel the fire ants. Many plants are naturally toxic and repel different bugs.

Taurus sc is your best friend here in the south for fire ants. It last for 2 to 3 years

If emergency medical care is over an hour away, you might want to look into a group rate for development members, with an air ambulance service. Without a group plan, that trip can cost a fast $50,000.

COMMENT - Fire ant bites are terrible. My foot got swarmed when I stepped on a hill hidden in the grass. The bites were painful, itchy, and my foot was swollen and red for 5 days or so. I’m sorry it happened to you. Speedy recovery!

I've recently retired and moved from Michigan to West Tennessee, and I am living in my rv. I have dealt with the ants myself a couple of times, NOT FUN!
I've been dealing with a lot spiders ( not large ones) more so than the ants. Spiders didn't use to bother me but I don't like them much anymore. Otherwise I love it here.

Your area was not damaged by the hurricane? Here in AZ we use Amdro small yellow chips that the fire ants carry into the colony.

Sprinkle Comet on the ground surrounding tires and jacks. The ants won't cross over Comet so it will keep them out of the rig and truck. I never leave home without it. Food grade Diatomaceous earth works too for public lands.

Those are Asian Beetles; not Ladybugs. We have them bad in Wisconsin. Don't you have them in Michigan?

I recently purchased Harris Asian Beetle killer from Amazon. I'm going to try it. We have a place on the Buffalo River in North Perry county and get them every year, They last for months usually. Make sure you plug your vacuum with paper or they escape. They can be an issue for your dog. I'll let you know if the spray works.

I’m interested in the Barndominum idea, what do you estimate the total cost would be, land, clearing, structure and upgraded land paving? Thanks. Take care of those bites.

The FTM 400 is a great radio. Did you find the guy in front of you on digital or regular bands? I have talked to folks from 6 continents while driving using digital and it sounds like they are in the car. 77 N8FPY.
