    Well we just moved to Tampa from New Hampshire in December, over the weekend we went looking for homes in Parrish and we are excited to say we found a brand new Villa and are extremely anxious for it to be completed so we can close and begin our new life in our new Florida home. Thank you for your incite on Parrish FL. I am not at all detoured by your 9 reasons to NOT move to Parrish. I am actually optimistic about the future of Parrish as you are not the only one I have heard from as far as the future growth of Parrish.

      It’s a great area we lived out there for years and had to sell our home when Covid had just begun and didn’t make the money like they started to 7 mos later and had to move because of our son needed us. Our home was only 2yrs old and when we bought it we paid $270,000 with low interest rate no CDD fee went to NC and couldn’t afford anything. Came back to Florida and we’re renting. This being said you’re from the New England States and also people from New York have sold thier homes made a lot of money and ofcourse you’re able to afford these prices now plus have extra. We have no taxes so everyone has run to Florida and chased us native Floridians out that are living on SS only. Florida has never been a state that people made a high income that’s why it’s been a place for middle income and retirees that never had high paid jobs. Daily Uhaul trucks are loading up and leaving. Extremely sad what’s happened to our state. Congratulations I hope you enjoy your new Brand New Villa. New Yorkers kept thier high paying jobs and have set up to work remotely from home and sold thier places for over a million and come down here and were able to buy a home for $600,000 on the water w/ a pool. I knew someone that did that in 2019.

      @@wendyouellette the northerners have been coming to Florida to retire for over 50 years. And they have always brought a lot of cash with them. In banking we call it, Florida where all the money ends up coming to. This is why there are so many banks here. Anyway even 30 years ago, they were buying condos and homes for $150,000 cash and would have 300-400,000 in the bank from the home they sold up north. The numbers are just bigger because of inflation. This is just the way it goes. My parents home 50 years ago was 35,000 now it’s 450,000. Right here in Florida older home community from the 50’s. In their eyes it should be like 150,000. But that will now get you a mobile home.

      @@jazzyflorida3757 I know but I think they’re going to get a rude awakening. Property taxes are rising which we’ve always had low. Also insurance companies are pulling out and people are already having a hard time finding insurance. East Coast that’s where they’re really going to hit them because of the hurricanes and the big condominiums are beginning to drop off in the Atlantic. You wait they won’t be able to get insurance very easy and if they do the companies that stay will be outrageous. All the beautiful things Florida had to offer retirees will be gone before they realize it. We found another Florida and I’m very excited about it. If we hadn’t signed another lease we would be moving soon. We had just bought a brand new home in 2018, No CDD , Hoa was very affordable because no pool to worry about. We’ve built 5 homes in Manatee County and we were tossing up the idea whether to leave or not and went for a ride on the weekend and found this beautiful home that was put under contract twice before us and one was military and he was called away and the other family I guess they couldn’t get thier loan. My husband talked me into buying for a couple years then leave. Not realizing Covid would hit we made a great deal because Lennar was done in the subdivision and cut a great deal. We filled out the paperwork and in 10 days we had the home. Right after we bought our son’s wife left him and took him for everything so he talked us into selling and moving near Raleigh NC. Ofcourse my dream was to move to NC. My husband was almost 70 and his health was going down so we sold and went. We could kick ourselves. Had the low 2.6 interest rate, helped the young couple get the home and left. Got up to NC in the middle of Covid and prices were ridiculously high everywhere, helped our son with everything and he found another girl, got married without telling us and immediately she blocked us. We never saw the grandkids anymore so we came back and it’s the worst thing we did. We’re leaving and can’t wait. Found a place that’s like Florida always was and homes are very reasonable, no state income tax. Retirees and middle class are beginning to find the area and moving so I’m ready. We did look at a mobile home in Lakeland and sadly to say everybody pays cash for them. This was new and we had a lot down and couldn’t buy it. Yet we got our home in 10 days that was much more expensive. Oh well God will take care of us and show us the way. It’ll be interesting to see what happens here.

    #10 reason, Manatee county , including Parrish ,is low elevation which is prone to flooding , you may want to visit after heavy rain before moving there.

    • @HomeswithNewman
      @HomeswithNewman  Год назад +4

      Hi James. I discuss the flood issue in this video & provide the FEMA flood map link so people can look. Many communities are actually elevated to X zones & not prone to flooding. We've lived here 10 years & never had flooding of any sort in our neighborhood. During our summer rainy season, you are correct that the streets flood easily as well as low-lying fields & that is definitely something worth noting. I see people still driving crazy & hydroplaning all the time🙄. Older areas with older homes are also less likely to have elevated lots & they are susceptible to flooding as well. That's why it's always good for anyone moving here to research the flood maps.

And you’re right there’s jobs all over but how can they live on less than $18.00 an hour? My husband ran a company for years and years would hire them and they didn’t like site work so they’d come in a day or so and never see them again. People don’t want to work. Sadly my husband lost his job back when the recession hit in 2008 and we had just remodeled everything and had to short sale it. Back to renting. The home would’ve been paid off. We’re taking a trip in October we heard of a few different areas they classify as middle class and retirees. I’ve looked it’s so affordable. I’m pretty excited. Is the growth being absorbed? Or are we going to see oversupply of homes in Parrish? So many new developments there, seems like way fast in past 3 years.

    • @HomeswithNewman
      @HomeswithNewman  Год назад +1

      Absorbing so far…but I’m sure if buyer traffic slows down due to rising rates, we’ll see builders back off a bit. FL state authorities say about 1100+ people are moving to FL per day😳🤯. A normal supply of homes is 5-6 months worth of inventory. We’re at just under 3 months…so no oversupply at this time. If we see builders pull back & building less homes, then that’s a great indicator.

Most of these complaints apply to any place in the country right now. I am in Virginia, and it is hot as Hades, the roads are crowded, I can't get in the pool when I want it, I am not going to the trouble of driving to the Chic Fil-A in bumper to bumper traffic, I don't want food delivery coming to my house, I don't care about schools because I am old like most people. The list goes on. Except, it is butt cold here in winter, and it ain't in Parrish, Florida or anywhere else in Florida.
