I'm a 40 something year old musician, have loved music my whole life, a composer and recording engineer, and I haven't heard anything this good or real since... I don't know when. I hope Pat comes back, b/c he has a talent that gives me goosebumps even after listening to his album 100x. It's like he sings, more passionately than we can even argue, all the thoughts, regrets, and feelings we have about the ourselves and the world. Hope you read this, Pat.
lol I’m from Detroit too. Amateur musician you could say. Peace brother, this guy probably saved my life. Couldn’t stand his songs when getting clean, but fuck did they make me stay sober.
If I've learned anything from this mans music, it's that our addictions are not our derelictions, and your heart is a muscle the size of your fist. It's up to you wether you use it to love someone, or punch them in the face. Peas out.
@@AnotherGhettoKidd The moments that changed my core beliefs were when I got my ass kicked in fights by people that would become my friends for opening my eyes to the idea of loving people despite our differences. If that's not an act of love, I don't know what is.
@@AFistfulOfVinyl man haha not to be a creep and shit but I look up to you and im 26 haha . I found you threw chris borrows and showed it to my friends in Abilene and it spread like wild fire Your loved big time in Abilene Texas and we would love to see you . I promise you ir would be a crazy show .
Everyone in the scene spends most of their time working through the case of PBR and trying to revive a dead rabbit Hero is prolly understatement dudes the patron saint
It's beyond epic that Fistful got one of the last live recordings by this absolute legend. I discovered him right as he left the scene.. And I know I;m not the only one that had their life absolutely changed by this dude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for recording this....
I lost my little brother 5 months ago to an epileptic seizure in his sleep. His name was Jayden and his handle has always been blue Jay . In the poem I wrote for his funeral I referred to him as a blue Jay. I used to listen to a lot of folk punk music with him. This song is so close to my heart and explains the grief so well.
Wish I could have a conversation with Pat. Too bad that’s one of the last things he might want. His music has moved and inspired me for years. Learning his music reminded me of playing with my best friend.
I was stupid enough to throw my life away on music Like it was that simple But if singing changed anything They'd make it illegal I hate strangers, loud noises, and crowds I'll play a show every night [Chorus 1] And would you, and would you believe There are people who come to me for advice? I'm driving fast as the car can go Because I'm going home [Verse 2] I was desperate enough for the feeling Of pushing back to jump into the streets The cops have us all surrounded; Hear them gnashing their teeth Ready now, bail down the alley when we hit the next light [Chorus 2] And would you, and would you believe There are people who ask me how to fight? I'm running fast as these legs can go And I'm going home [Verse 3] Five years ago I was broken enough to just shut the fuck up I got sober by going to rehab And not arguing so much for once Punk rockers ask me how I did it Hoping for an easier way [Chorus 3] And would you, and would you believe That they don't like what I have to say? I pray as much as an atheist can And then I walk home I'm driving fast as the car can go Because I'm going home
I'm glad you love it. Pat is one of a kind. And hey, if you dig it, it would mean a ton to me if you subscribed to our channel! We're releasing music directly inspired by him pretty much all the time.
+William Lim that was about 5 or 6 years ago now ... so...I doubt that's the reason why...he's comming back... he has a split album with ceschi and he's working on a new lp from what I hear
He stopped believing in what he sang about. If you listen to a lot of lines in ramshackle glory songs, they say it pretty clear. "The way I'm living is a temper tantrum and I need something else, need something else to stay alive, whoa-ah-oh"
@@dylansternaman8579 being pissed off at life and wanting change never changed things, only felt like it did in my youth. Wait till you get older you'll be happy just to have trustworthy friends
A Fistful Of Vinyl that's badass! I just saw them last night! I also saw someone wearing a ffov hoodie but I wasn't sure at the time... was that one of you guys?!
"i pray as much as atheist can" i was an atheist for 15 years. i read the Shobogenzo by Dogen my second time in rehab and it changed my life. very cliche, i know, but its true.
Juan Rojo yeah I miss it too. But its not worth it. The truth is the truth we chased was a lie. Call it old but on the edge of 24 I finally understand.

fistful of vinyl is tiny desk concerts for depressed punk rockers
Hip hop heads too lol
So.
Alcoholic vets too . . . probably just me.
So what
So what
haha
We all need an anthem, my dude, and sometimes we get from the most unlikely of sources.
I'm loving that he played I'm Going Home and Never Coming Home
@Ross Everitt gotta check it man, maybe my favorite acoustic of his
All songs are either about coming home or leaving.
Did he go home or naw?
@T.J. ppl have the mental capacity to change like myself. We all can leave room for growth,if your willing to embrace self improvement

IDK if I'd be alive or where I'd be without this mans music. Pat, if you ever read this, thank you for helping save my life.
Only god knows how many f*king lives this man saved 😂
Johnny hobo, pat the bunny, ramshackle glory, whatever... The emotion... All the feels
Don’t forget Wingnut Dishwashers Union ;)
@@FastNCurious88 never forget them

What an amazing heart-felt response.
Nailed it
His voice makes me feel like im home, its feels so profound.
Pat . your music stopped me from killing myself .cause I finally didn't feel alone .

This is pure sobriety.
Ty for this Pat. I hope life is treating you well whenever you are.
I've been listening to Johnny hobo or pat the bunny since I can remember. He's lived long enough to become the hero.
Everyone in the scene spends most of their time working through the case of PBR and trying to revive a dead rabbit

First song by him that I heard. Absolutely magical
My first song I heard of his was my idea of fun. It was beautiful
Ironically it's his goodbye to punk. Listen to the freight trains first

Man I've said it before and I'll say it again, what a set of perfect chompers he has.

Its 2024 and if you are still coming here, it will all work out. Maybe read some murakami...4 yrs clean
This song quickly joined my sobriety soundtrack.

When days are hard a shit I listen and I fuckin listen
I was stupid enough to throw my life away on music
Like it was that simple
But if singing changed anything
They'd make it illegal
I hate strangers, loud noises, and crowds
I'll play a show every night
[Chorus 1]
And would you, and would you believe
There are people who come to me for advice?
I'm driving fast as the car can go
Because I'm going home
[Verse 2]
I was desperate enough for the feeling
Of pushing back to jump into the streets
The cops have us all surrounded;
Hear them gnashing their teeth
Ready now, bail down the alley when we hit the next light
[Chorus 2]
And would you, and would you believe
There are people who ask me how to fight?
I'm running fast as these legs can go
And I'm going home
[Verse 3]
Five years ago
I was broken enough to just shut the fuck up
I got sober by going to rehab
And not arguing so much for once
Punk rockers ask me how I did it
Hoping for an easier way
[Chorus 3]
And would you, and would you believe
That they don't like what I have to say?
I pray as much as an atheist can
And then I walk home
I'm driving fast as the car can go
Because I'm going home
Thank you pat the bunny
Just when I thought Pat couldn't hit my feels any harder 🙄😭🖤
Don't matter what walk you're taking in life. This song resonates.
Pat the bunny, thank you for everything. Bravo.
He reminds me so much of John from The Mountain Goats
That was my first thought when I saw this too!!! Man wish John would do a fistful of vinyl show!!
Rather watch a movie about Pat then Elvis
One liked singing and taking drugs. The otherdid too
This song helped get me through rehab, had to stop looking for a softer easier way.
What a literal god
Love you pat ❤️
So Good can't wait for the interview

Stephen Longcoy Gosh, me neither!
AFistfulOfVinyl did he not give you guys an interview?

Love this one.
I never tire of this one. I got to hear it at Kitten Robot back in the day. Roessler and I think you're terrific.
I'm glad you love it. Pat is one of a kind. And hey, if you dig it, it would mean a ton to me if you subscribed to our channel! We're releasing music directly inspired by him pretty much all the time.

Excellent!
so good it hurts
Fucking love this song
Not enough people in the punk community have really paid attention to his lyrics...
love love love
you for you pat
It feels like Pat dropped off the radar for a while after wayfgb, so glad he's back.
frank williamson he went to rehab.
***** Pat went to rehab after Where Are Your Friends Going to Be? I don't think so mate. That's a ramshackle album.
+William Lim that was about 5 or 6 years ago now ... so...I doubt that's the reason why...he's comming back... he has a split album with ceschi and he's working on a new lp from what I hear
+Jayson Pereira Actually on his bandcamp he announced he's quitting music, but there's one more ramshackle glory album to be released.
He's still showing up on some shows ever now and then tho. I really hope that there's more to come from him.
I think the music he made made a difference *_* Sad he's quit.
He stopped believing in what he sang about. If you listen to a lot of lines in ramshackle glory songs, they say it pretty clear.

+TheToasterStrudel His last show will be at Plan-It-X fest with Ramshackle Glory. They've confirmed on both PiX's facebook page and their own.

Pat showing punk rockers how to barre chords \m/
why does pat always look sweaty
Like any good musician he plays like his life depends on it
🤘🤘
how did i never see that fidlar sticker?
Fidlar themselves put it there :)
A Fistful Of Vinyl that's badass! I just saw them last night! I also saw someone wearing a ffov hoodie but I wasn't sure at the time... was that one of you guys?!
Wasn't me, Kirk, or John...which I think is even cooler because I don't know anyone else who has an AFoV sweatshirt haha
Fuck pedophiles
@@scenesfromthecome-up7597 What?
♾️💯♾️
I love how he screws up the chord change from C# to A lol 1:53
Get MJTDP on here. Please.
What is the first chord he is playing?
Pretty sure it's an E major on the seventh fret
I think he’s playing B A E
"i pray as much as atheist can" i was an atheist for 15 years. i read the Shobogenzo by Dogen my second time in rehab and it changed my life. very cliche, i know, but its true.
Getting sober without gOd is highly recommended
The main camera's running at a way lower frame rate than the camera in the corner, and it's really bugging me.
why did he have to get old and sober and quit?
Rae Bird life man. It catches up. You can't snort and shoot forever.
Jacob Ferrell I miss snorting I'd never shoot though
Juan Rojo yeah I miss it too. But its not worth it. The truth is the truth we chased was a lie. Call it old but on the edge of 24 I finally understand.
Jacob Ferrell I wish everyone had that mentality, parents are a lot older than 24 and still can't manage
Would you rather he die young and miserable?
why is he screaming
nate watkins something about having passion for the music you are playing will do that to a guy.
