Amazing! Never had heard about Amy Macdonald before. Strangely. Ran across this song on RUclips a few days ago. It really made my day
And yes I am only one of 11m comments. I'm 70 years old and music has been part of my daily life since my earliest memories of my mother and the radio on all day. I have seen them all come and go over all those years. The good, the bad, and the mediocre. . . Amy is special and the world of music us so much better for. . . What a fantastic talent. . .

Not that far behind you at 65! Grew up with US Top 40 radio during the day and country music at night skipping on the ionosphere. First heard Amy on RUclips just when her first album was coming out and I got it from Amazon UK because I did not want to wait for a US release (wasn't for another bloody year). She indeed has a deep soul to have written some of her reach-deep-in-your-heart songs at 16. And she can blow the doors off of Dancing In the Dark and Born To Run.
This song cannot be affected by time... it's IMMORTAL
It was 2009 in A Coruna - Spain waiting for my two sons to come out of school and this amazing song would come on every time. It brings back so many great feelings about how great life can be. Thanks Amy.

i heard the original and yes awesome but now you are older, the song never ages and sounds awesome. All can say is your acoustics is top notch, the new backing singers complement you very well, and age doesn't factor as I previously said, it complements. Brilliant voice and song. Oh dear Thank you Amy ♥︎, this song will always be in my heart! ALWAYS! For some reason, it's been stuck in my head ever since I dreamed about it! I saw a guy in a white tram and this song playing. As soon as I woke up I went to the PC and started looking for words on the internet (in Italy it was the advent of the domestic internet) but nothing at all. from time to time I kept looking for the words of the chorus but without success, then 4 years later, while I was in France for work, I got on the tram to realize that I had actually dreamed of the future: the guy was me, and immediately the song starts playing from the tram's internal monitor complete with a video clip. it was disconcerting and wonderful. for me it was the demonstration that we are connected on levels we don't imagine, otherwise how could I have dreamed of a song that hadn't even been released yet?? and what's more, the song debuted in Italy another 2 years later

I listened to this song 312 times from late August 2013 till late August 2014.
It took exactly its length to get from my apartment to the nearby gym lockers.
And it took exactly 312 workouts (mostly, Monday through Saturday) to literally run away from diabetes.
Thank you, Amy, if you ever see this comment. I do not know if I would have managed to cover this many sport sessions without your song.
But with it I managed. 1 out of 100 committed to give it a try as per my endocrynologist back then. Started with being almost dead after simple 300 meters fast walk to the gym on Day 1 and ended with nice and easy 10-12 kilometers treadmill runs by the end of this year of endurance and hope.
Alive, kicking, still doing my 3 to 4 workouts per week and submitting blood tests on quarterly basis. But quite healthy and not much changed in appearence since I got where I got with a lot of help from this song.
