I lived in Ensley from 1977-1989. In early February 2022 I took a trip down 19th Street, where most of this video was filmed. After all these years, Carter's Barbershop, Gilmore Drugs, Ideal Furniture, and First Baptist Church is still there.

US Steel closed in 1984, and thousands of jobs were lost. This town was very dependent on the steel industry. Most of the video was filmed on 19th Street. Up until the late 1980s, it was booming with retail stores, shops, and business....
