This place is on my list. Just been waiting til my son is older. Going back to the Hale Koa in 2 weeks. For the 10th time since I left the island in 2010. But I’m goin to do a Eurotrip soon and this place is on my list. Stayed at Shades a few years after the Army when my son was little and loved it.
We love shades as well! And we have a trip planned for Hale Koa for early next year. Glad to hear you love it there 😁 Have a great time! And we appreciate you watching!
My husband stayed there in 2019 for work, he liked it. We’re staying at shades of green this December (Disney vacation ) which would you say was nicer?
Thats great! I would have to say you can really tell there is a common feel among them both. Which one is nicer could be subjective depending on what you love or what aesthetic you like. Edelweiss was absolutely perfect for our December visit with its cabin feel, roaring fires, log railings and rocking chairs. Staff was wonderful, food was ok (not bad but not extraordinary). Shades of Green is also wonderful for our trips to Disney and has a bit of a Polynesian vibe to me with the water features and lava rock in some of the design work. Staff is wonderful there as well and food is great. Obviously if you're American then you'll feel more "at home" at Shades than at Edelweiss but they both felt like family being tied to the military. I still feel so lucky to be able to visit these at such a great price! That was a lengthy answer but I hope it helped lol
Thank you so much! We were there for the second week of December and it was perfect! We had powdery snow and it was truly magical right before the Christmas season!
Sorry , but , they don't GIVE you a hair dryer and a coffee maker , they're not yours , that said , when we stayed there back in 08' the rooms had a dinette table with 2 chairs , and food service to the room was included with the price ,
Maybe that was a poor choice of words but in my defense I thought it was obvious that you don't TAKE appliances home from a hotel room. They give them to you to use. I imagine a lot of things have chanced since 08. We were there during the tail end of the pandemic so maybe that service was on pause or discontinued on account of safety. A lot of things chanced post 2020 though. I'll be curious to see if it's different when we visit again in the future.
The lobby had a different decor too, the large wall behind the front desk had a huge black n white picture of The Rat Pack, on it , which my wife and I found funny , since we had and still have the same one back home.
