About Kalpna Mohan
Kalpana (18 July 1946 - 4 January 2012), born Archana Mohan, was an Indian actress who worked in Hindi cinema in the 1960s. She appeared with Shammi Kapoor in the 1962 film Professor, with Shashi Kapoor and Kishore Kumar in Pyar Kiye Jaa (1966), with Dev Anand in Teen Devian, with Pradeep Kumar in Saheli and with Feroz Khan in Tasveer and Teesra Kaun. Daughter of revolutionary Avani Mohan, she was also an accomplished Kathak dancer trained under Pandit Shambhu Maharaj. She lived in Pune with her family. She lived for some time in Ambala Cantt. For some years she went to a school in Ambala Cantt. Her father was working in Khadi and village Industries Commission in the state office situated on Nicklson road in Ambala Cant during 1962-63.

I am deeply shocked and pained to gather about this stunningly beautiful actress; who I had watched on the silver screen when I was a young boy. I just cannot believe that she died at a young age of 65 after going through so much pain , shock , trauma , humiliation . My heart goes out to her daughter in America . May Kalpana Mohan's soul attain Sadgati and hope she's in a better place today.... Deeply saddened to go through this informative clip. Kudos to the maker ....

I was about 11 or 12 years old when tye movie Professor came out. I loved the film but wondered who the lady in the lead role was. Later, I thot she had acted only in that film, bcoz one didnt hear anything ab her. As u've said in ur video, she didnt know the "taur tareeke" of Bollywood. I saw Teen Deviyaan a few years ago & wondered who this beautiful woman was as one of the Deviyaan. I didnt know who she ws & cdnt recognize hr as Kalpana Mohan. She looks really beautiful in that film & acted weĺl too. Her career nosedived bcoz of Shammi Kapoor. Sad to hear ab her fading away & all the troubles she had to go thru in later life - her cancer, her being cheated out of her land. Bollywood is a very dangerous & cruel place. Her sanskaar didnt allow her to use cheap methods to rise in Bollywood at any cost. Peace to her soul.
