When you pull the line off from the gas tank to the fuel separator did you have to plug it off ? If gas pours out do you know what size plug I would need to put in the line. I'm thinking that might be easier than draining a lot of gas and having to put it back in the tank.
If it isn’t plugged, you can put a hose on the water separator drain and catch it in a fuel can. Make sure you drain off the water first. After it finishes draining there won’t be much that comes out of the other hoses.
@@barntech2291 it is plugged up that's why I want to take it off and clean it out like you did. I was hoping to take the line from the tank off and plug it in instead of draining it. Do you know what size plug I would need.
Could you put a Marine type fuel water separator in prior to this one that's built right on the side of the pump. Maybe like a Ray core or somthing
The whole fuel system is garbage. I have found a bunch of design flaws that compound.
Good video. Judging by those bald rear tires I think it was getting plenty of fuel 😂
Haha! Yeah the previous owner abused and neglected her

The line from the tank is 1/2”. The return is 3/8”. I am not sure you can plug the quick connect fittings though.
What was your gpg after you cleaned it?
MPG didn’t change, but it cranks faster and less likely to damage HPFP
Do you not need any tools to remove the fuel lines?
You can press the release buttons with your finger but I found it easier to press the buttons with a screwdriver.
@@barntech2291 Do you have to press the lines forward to release them?
Yes push it in, press and hold the button, while pulling it off
Looks like another Ford designe to fail. Costing us huge.
Yeah the whole fuel system design in this truck is terrible.
