- Its the new year.... hello 2024 but what a bad start to the new flying season for me. I think I forgot how to fly lol . Although it was a bit of an ugly launch, I did manage to get some sky time and slowly but surely it started coming back to me . Please join my friends and I as we take to the skies and kick off the 2024 flying season.
Yup, the darn things always seem heaviest at the beginning of warmer weather. You aint the only one who's run themselves into the ground. Kinda fun to slide it out, but not so great on the gear and the pant knees. Holy crap thats a LOT of runnin'. Thanks for the vid, glad you got it in the air!

I feel your pain! Look at my last flying video. I never pulled any brake. I ran like hell, maybe going 14mph, and lifted my legs and just settled to the ground. Cost me half a prop. I'm in South Carolina so I don't really think of flying seasons. If it's cold I just put on more clothes. The cold doesn't bother me (I just let it go, let it go...), my main problem has been finding off days with good winds.
I'm jealous of you guys that fly all year long , I hate flying in the cold :( below 45 degrees I don't go lol ill check your vid thx for watching
I understand your excitement and singing for the love of flying. It is so fun, especially after a dry spell. Yes, long run for launch, you had enough brakes too. My guess it was related to high density altitude.

I fly all winter here in west Tennessee.
I guess ya never get rusty when you fly all year round... im jealous ;)
We didn't really even HAVE a winter here in SC. Not the first snowflake or ice storm. I built a fire in the fireplace twice. It was crazy. I flew Christmas Eve, Mid January, and February without really being cold, except for my hands.
Oh and…. My first winter where I decided I like being warm when I fly 🙂

@@shanesplanetshane3795”expensive bed sheet” lol. So accurate. I imagine a kid thinking of jumping off the roof with a bedsheet trying to fly. That basically what we are doing.
@@rule1dontgosplat We used to run to an open spot in Kansas with a tarp (age9) when we heard tornado sirens... This setup I have now, works a little better.
From the video you looked like you were leaning forward a little. Try a little lean back just before lift off. it sure helps me get off the ground easier. When you get old, like me, you head to Florida and fly with a bunch of old guys all winter.
