Just spent a little time on Beaufort (for my birthday) and stopped in at Hearth Woodfired Pizza and we chatted about your video while you were there. Sat at a spot in the long booth.
Oh yum…the food looked so delicious! What a fun time doing a food tour and exploring Beaufort! I bet meeting up and sharing with other Loopers was such a great time! Seeing how exited Ollie was when you returned was so sweet…she loves you so! Keep having fun and traveling safe!
Now I'm hungry, going to make smash burgers on the griddle for the family.. thanks for the food tour. Poor Olly left alone while ya'll have the feast of Kings.
I bet your smash burgers were delish - thanks James 🤙 Ollie helped with the leftover pizza so I think she got a pretty good deal... warm snuggles all day + pizza - I'll take that most days haha
Thanks for stopping by! We've not yet lived here a year, and I agree that dining out definitely takes a little planning (and luck unfortunately!) I think of it more of a Service Industry-COVID recovery thing than a local availability thing. Quick bite restaurants really split their attention between dining-in and Food Delivery apps, which is a problem everywhere. The nicer restaurants definitely require reservations. I'm still scoping out a decent Barbecue place, no luck yet (I WON'T mention where I've been). This is absolutely a boating/fishing town for sure! Bonus Points: I learned about the Loop from your video, never even knew it existed!
Hi Guys, another great video. One of the things I love about you kids is that you always appreciate good food and eat well. Stay Safe Out there ‼️🙂 P.S. I hope you shared a slice with Ollie ... lol
I found your site while searching for Trawler Cruising the ICW along the East Coast and am very thankful I did such. So enjoyed this segment on Beaufort, SC, a location we have visited for years. We lived on the the waterfront in Southport, NC and it was not a bad drive from our home on Bay Street. I searched for you stop in Southport but was unable to find it. We now live in Castle Hayne, NC in a gated community on the Northeast Cape Fear River and we so enjoy walking our "River Walk" at sunset to view some very awesome sunsets. Wishing you safe cruising as you make your way South on the ICW!
Ahoy Loopers! I am a fan and on the edge of me seat watching you make the most of your life. I have some local knowledge and would love to share with you a possible route option as you end your time in the north channel of Lake Huron. It would allow you to enter Lake Superior in a quick in and out with an amazing passage on the way, and a different route back. The terminus is a wonderful safe anchorage that is Ollie friendly
So as I am older and not on social media, please drop me a line at my email and I will give you the details as this is not a place you will find in the Looper library but would make for a most memorable addition to your trip. You can reach me at firemedicwhite@gmail.com
Ooh that sounds like an amazing route! If possible can you put in in here bit.ly/great-loop-recommendations? Thanks so much for saying hi and watching, Jason!
Oh come on I live an hour away from Beaufort and its literally been 80 degrees since February. 😂 it ain't cold your 2 hours from the Florida border. Come on now seriously. 😂😂😂😂. I think I commented on your video in February when y'all said it was cold. Loving the food tour, if you have more time when you get around Charleston go more inland and check out the food from some of the other towns like summerville That's my neck of the woods.
@@SchoandJo oh yeah definitely 45 is cold but I did not know it got that cold down there in Beaufort during spring maybe we just get warmer weather up here in Charleston lol but yeah summerville is 20 miles inland from Charleston. Supposedly we are the birthplace of sweet tea (according to the internet and all the signs around town it seems to be true 😂) but lots of good southern food or just good food in general (I reccomend Eva's but the only downside is it closes around 3) Summerville is kinda a hidden gem for tourists who visit Charleston. Were also known for our scenery especially in spring when all the azaleas are in bloom. There is a reason we are called "flower town in the pines".
Hi guys . Can you give some background about Ollie ? What type of dog is she ? How did you come about being her humans ? How long etc etc ? Thanks for your mostly informative and very entertaining videos .
We will have to share the story of Ollie sometime! We adopted Ollie from the Humane Society in Atlanta a few months after moving up there. She is a mutt's mutt, but we think she has some Beagle and Terrier in her. Currently she is turning 7 soon and we've had her since she was 8 weeks old. Cheers!
@@SchoandJo looks like she might have some " mountain feist " in her . My daughter and family has a mountain feist and Ollie is similar except her coloring is some what like a German Shepherd . Yes you need to do a video just about Ollie .
@@SchoandJo Read about your trying to train Ollie to do her business on board . JUST a suggestion . Training books say that its the SMELL OF NATURAL GRASS that triggers a dog to do it's business . I have thought of trying this if I get another pup one day . TRY getting some ONE FOOT SQUARES of REAL GRASS from LOWE'S or garden center they sell to start lawns with . MAYBE 2'x2' and place them on that old rug to see if it would work . IF they do build a wooden box with a bottom maybe 2ft x 3ft and throw overboard the one she messes up the most first and replace it with a fresh square of real grass . IF this works maybe the box could be deep enough to hold 2 or three squares layered on one another . Again I haven't tried this but it has potential I think . Good luck .
Hmm... I don't know if I could really say if we have, but only because that isn't really on our radar to look out for. In some of the Southern towns I bet they have a couple dishes however they do like their fried foods typically with some sort of breading 😬
Don't know what I did but lost all the comments and had to start video over again and re-like. Maybe it will add another view to total. LOL, daughter's dog w us. Not cloak of slumber, but Monkey Blanket. And she wants head covered or she'll do it herself. You know biscuits and gravy in south means sausage gravy. Was the pimento cheese inside the breading w the fried green tomatoes? Sounds like something to try. Niece has a little WiFi feeder w camera. Can turn on to see what dog is doing from phone. Push button and it beeps and couple seconds later throws a few pieces of dog food out. Beep gets them running so they in front of camera and know they ok. Shared house w her and husband their 2 dogs and managed to get our 3 down on family vacation in at Jekyll last summer. Could look in to see they weren't tearing up rental!!! Know internet sketchy on boat, but may want to look into it. Don't remember name of product though. :( So trying to write comments while watching video instead of comment every time something pops into head. No pressure, but the wedding gonna happen on a lock on the Erie Canal? 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 Keep up the good work and enjoy this adventure. Want to see you cross your wake in a few months.
Haha thanks for the 2 views 😁 The fried green tomatos were sandwiched with Pimento cheese. Haha would love one of those devices for Ollie! You never know 😉
Nope, she literally just sleeps all day. On days like today, we take her out just before starting the vlog so by the time we get back it has been roughly 8-12 hrs. Back when we were working in Atlanta, we would try to take her out for lunch but some days we couldn't and she'd hold it. I guess that's where she learned? She does tell us when she needs to go out though, and normally that doesn't happen until 24-36 hours. BUT we don't wait that long, we take her out at a minimum for 2 good walks a day, more if we can 😁

All looked delish!!
Forty seven...very refreshing!!

Yum, yum, yummy! I need to try tomato pie.
Highly recommend it!
That all looked so good! The fried green tomatoes especially. I've never heard of tomato pie. Looks like you guys are enjoying the loop!
Tomato pie is actually a pretty new thing to is too! Highly recommend it if you like tomatos or Pizza!
You guys are outstanding! This adventure will be legendary for your grandchildren! This is what will keep you together forever. God bless!

Ok, I couldn’t concentrate because I was worried about the dog. Have no idea how the food was. Am I the only one?
Have no fear, Ollie is an established boat dog and does just fine on the boat without us 🐶
Does Ollie have a place on the boat to do her business while you guys are away?

Still... no pork, except on the salad, chicken, or beef. My banter is only meant in a little humor.
😁 The ooey-gooey sandwich I had comes with Bacon if that's your thing!
Background noise awful. 👎🏻
