@@Reginald_Harrison I totally hear you, 20" wheels are silly on something that's designed to be driven off road. But to be fair, it's actually bowing to the EPA's insane fuel economy standards. @@GregKittle How does it get better MPG with the optional 20” compared to the standard 18”? Where are you getting this info? It’s usually the complete opposite. It’ll also cost a lot more money to fit new tires to a 20” wheel.
@@Reginald_Harrison great question. I don't know where you're getting your information about it being "the complete opposite," but whoever it was proved their ignorance. It's just basic physics. There are two reasons for why a larger sidewall will reduce your mileage. For one, take two tires with the same diameter, and the one with a larger sidewall will weigh more than the low-profile tire. More rotational inertia means less efficiency. In fact, rotational inertia on your tires/wheels is one of the major things affecting your milage, believe it or not. Second, more sidewall means more rolling resistance since there's more sidewall compression with every rotation. You can look up any of the plethora of videos right here on RUclips that explain these concepts in much more detail than I have space for here, but that's the basic idea.
@@GregKittle Link me to a good video here on YT. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but all I can find is videos about cars stating the exact opposite e.g. bigger wheel = worse mpg. Land Cruiser starts at a higher price. Since they changed to the smaller LC for the American market, it’s an interesting situation with the 4Runner, LC, and Lexus GX all being part of the same category
Fulltime vs part-time (offroad 4runner trims), different look, different heights and visibility, a few different options, but yes, very similar vehicles.
@@bd103dall so from a Jeep guy who likes Toyotas too, correct me if I’m wrong. The Land Cruiser looks cool and new but the tried and true 4Runner is still pretty much more capable and off road savy then the LC?
No. 4Hi just means it's in 4 wheel drive as opposed to 2 wheel drive.(Or 4 auto, where you'll be in 2wd and it gives power to the front wheels as needed).
