    This is the best instruction out there! Im finally starting to understand how to correctly get into positions I need to in order to have a repeatable decent swing. The way you explain how to execute different parts of the swing is easy for me to understand. There are a lot of light bulbs coming on every time I watch your video! Thank you for not over complicating with all the new buzzwords like the “P” positions and all the inflection,reflection, pronation,etc.BS! Now I don’t feel I need a body science class as a prerequisite to learn the golf game!

    The discussion about matching the shaft and club face literally transformed my golf swing. I was battling low hooks thinking my face was square when it was shut and it is now night and day for my consistency.

    I've been devouring all the porzak golf content the last few weeks - really makes sense and is consistent, simple, and effective.
    One thing I'm confused about - Adam always advocates for taking the grip with the clubface square when the handle is straight up and down, in line with the middle of your body (rather than having the clubface square with a bit of shaft lean at address). Adam says that's because if you grip it with the lean, it means the face would be open when you return the shaft to vertical. True. But at impact we're going to have even more shaft lean, so surely we want the face to be square when the hands are in their impact position rather than in that straight up and down position?
    Thoughts?

    So glad I've come across your channel. I've watched dozens of videos on the takeaway and no drill or instruction kept my club head from being under in P2. It's finally in the correct spot with the handle down and club head up feel and the back swing overall just feels way better. Thank you!

    I like your drill for the takeaway with the club laying on the ground between your feet at 45° and kind of matching that in your take away.. also in this video I went and tried to grip thing and yes my club face was a little shut I tested it to the line in my garage so I just weaken my left hand a fraction and it squared the club face up Thanks

    Lots of beginners/ high hcps,esp those using game improver ie massive offset irons,aim top line not bottom edge,ie if you aim thick top edge square bottom/leading edge is aiming way left!

    Awesome detail explanation. I keep coming back to this video since I’m so obsessed with my takeaway not being correct. You provide so much little detail that is so relevant. I.e I didn’t know how to square my club head at address? So, if I felt I made good contact but “pulled “ the ball left it might have been closed club face at address? However, I attributed something else and “threw the baby out with the bath water”. Constantly chasing my tail trying to find consistent decent swing. Thanks for helping me connect the dots properly.

    On squaring club at address is bottom groove parallel to ground, toe slightly down. Feeling handle pulls up a little?

  • @Geller232
    @Geller232 2 года назад +1

    Hey Adam, thank you for sharing your knowledge. When you are talking about the club face being square and having that toe slightly “open” feeling, I realized I’ve been setting up with a closed club face my entire life. Can you please do a deep dive into explaining this concept in a video please? I’m confused why this slightly open look is considered square.

    • @ens8280
      @ens8280 2 года назад +2

      Good idea on a video - because I’d think once you add shaft lean at impact, that open/square face to the rope in this vid would become way open to both target line and path. But maybe with some shaft twist/body rotation, it gets the face to stay square even with shaft lean.

    At 6:58 you said, "My boy's got it square now." Yet it looked like the lines on the clubface were pointing almost to his left heel. a.) is that what you see? b.) where should it align to be square?

  • @OlleErikssonL
    @OlleErikssonL Год назад

    So you're saying that the club face should be a little "open" when you apply shaft lean, so that it's square when you remove the shaft lean? Why? If you intend to hit the ball with shaft lean, wouldn't you want to face to be square when addressing it with shaft lean?

    The professional (seems great btw) says to move the handle first which implies hands driving the takeaway, but he also says start with the left shoulder. Can someone please clarify this so that i can nail the backswing? i'm less interested in "what happens" and more interested in what the golfer actively does with intention. thanks.

    Are you hinging while turning here?

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  Год назад +1

      Yes but passively. Simply because the lead hand heel pad is applying pressure into the butt end of the grip creating a lever to set the club up in front of your hands without moving your wrists a lot!

    Wouldn't he be better served to hold the club off the ground to take his grip? He seems to fidget with getting his grip and turns the club as he does so.
