I have a Kenwood TS 930S my first radio. I bough it used. Still have it. For new hams I would stress the 10M freq allocation as well as maybe satellite and packet radio. You can also do FT8 on 10M. Keep them coming! 73
What a gorgeous piece of antiquated equipment! Absolutely love these old radios! There's a lot to be said for buttons and knobs over menus :D I have a TS-680S from roughly the same time period (1989 to the mid 90s I believe) that I use here at the house. Really cool old radio, and I picked it up for not a lot of money (~ $350 if memory serves).
1 have a TS940SAT that I bought new. It went back to Kenwood and Kenwood service centers many times and was NEVER fixed. Last time it went to Kenwood they did nothing to it and it has the infamous PLL unlock issue. Kenwood service is horrible and I paid over $3000 for it and filters!
4th conversion. Show me another radio with the similar condition I revive more than 20 of this The pwr supply , and another points The sens is -132dbm in all the bands Show me other to work like this

Be careful transporting that. Coax jumpers inside can be a huge headache.

@@kb5miqbigboy yeah , I’d probably let it ride on a seat and not a hard surface.
449.7 is not bad at all for its age.
By the way that’s why it’s got a VFO and RIT.
