I'll bet my 401K those keyboard warrior Sad Hams would not act that way to your face. Even if they were brave enough to make the attempt, Ham Radio Cat would claw their eyes out! 😀 I too, have seen some loss of decodes with locals when strong signals were present. This took place when my Dad was still around. This was years ago using WSJT. It could have also been a propagation issue, as the dork Sad Hams mentioned. 73! de WX0V

Thanks for another great video. I like seeing how other people do their ham shacks! I have to spend tomorrow doing wire and cable management. I get so excited getting new stuff that I temporarily wire it and then get too lazy to redo it neatly. You probably tried this to get the TV to work as a monitor but: right-click on your desktop, select "Display settings", then in the "Display resolution" section, choose the "1920 x 1080" option from the dropdown menu and click "Apply" - this is usually marked as "Recommended" if it's your monitor's native resolution. I don't know if this will help but since you always give us viewers helpful information, I thought I'd try to return the favor. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to seeing the final work on the shack...73...Hugh...KN6KNB

Just on a side note that kind of goes along with what He said... I use to install the large c band satellite fiberglass dishes. I had a gentleman that created a board very similar to what he is discussing in this video. There were no electrical connections going through this board at all. Signal only. When his yearly insurance inspection came around they immediately told him he would be canceled if he did not have a certified electrician come out and verify no power was going through the coax. Simply as a friendly reminder keep your insurance requirements and regulations in mind when you pass anything through a window. Every state is different. My friend who is now a silent key had his coax running to a 2 m and a 70 cm antenna on a tower.. they threatened to cancel his homeowners insurance. Now as for me I have almost identical what he has described in this video and it works well for me I have a drip loop for each individual feed line coming in to a right angle connector then to the pass through zero problems works great!
@@thehulkster2707 thanks buddy!! thats great info!!73!!

@@rumpestillskin4671 thanks!!73!!
Glad your Dad is OK and settling in! Great video! I got into Arduino and ESP-32 based communication projects because I eventually wanted to build small HF radios. The MESH stuff is interesting. My radio club here has built a large network of nodes in the county and beyond. While I'm always going to be an SSB guy, I like experimenting with other forms of radio communication. I suspect the whole MESH craze will bring some new blood into the hobby. As for people waiting until the disaster hits, I run into too many people that buy gear, set it up, and then don't spend any time learning how to use it. Thankfully, I'm the opposite: I do research on gear before I buy it, including watching a bunch of RUclips videos on how to use it. The way things are today, a zombie epidemic wouldn't surprise me! Thanks again for the video...73...Hugh...KN6KNB

You can also get meshtastic nodes that operate on the 70cm band. There is even a board that can act as a APRS digipeter and or an I-Gate. It can be a deep hole just do your research. Hope you enjoy it. 73

Just a minor correction. Not the lower 900Mhz, the upper. between 902Mhz and 928Mhz ISM (industrial Scientific Medical) band. Im not sure I told you the exact frequencies when we were talking about it yesterday.
@@BrokenCircuitRanch thanks buddy!!73!!
Also, the channels are only encrypted if you set them up to be. Otherwise, there is a public “primary channel” that I think will receive anything anyone sends on that channel. So there will probably be lot of spammy messages.
