Dan, No shame mate. I done Xterra yesterday after watching your vid for a bit of advice. God, I was so bad !! I thoroughly enjoyed it but it was a hot day. My normal middle of the pack full and half IM distance status equated for back of the pack, lucky to finish... Great organized event though, good fun and worth a tri... Next year I might have another go. Hope you are doing well.
I can finally say I've appeared in one of your videos 😂.... I'm the tall guy wearing black with a blue cap, waving my arms, in transition, over your right shoulder while you're talking to camera 😂👍
Thanks Shaun! Well I did see some people in race shoes, but I was definitely comfier in trail shoes. The technical part was such a small part of the race it's probably still faster in fast shoes, just got to take it sensible, it was very dry that day though
Hi Dan, I came across your channel when doing some research for Cork 70.3, I was wondering if you had any tips, particularly for the swim as this is my first Ironman 70.3 and I suffer from sinking hips syndrome 😂
Nice one, I'll see you in Cork! Well firstly a wetsuit really helps for buoyancy, I too have sinking legs but it's a lot better with a wetsuit. I'd try things like a lower head position and squeezing the core to bring the legs up, it's easier said than done though. Saltwater swims make you slightly higher in the water too. See you there & thanks for the support!
Well done Liz he did set a trend he is a fashion model after all. I love the pre race briefing Gaza line on my balls let’s get down, what a beautiful venue to race well done it you let minutes on the coarse with no aero bars on the mountain bike Clint would be disappointed
Haha no it was on, it was just that it didn't look anywhere near as "gnarly" as I'd hoped and I didn't think it flowed well with the external footage. I might use it on a reel or something at some point, I've still got it :)
La blague !!!! Rien d'extrême ici. Venez faire le XTERRA France, c'est un autre niveau. 1,5km de natation, 40 km de vrai VTT (dénivelé 1300m) et 10km de vrai trail (dénivelé 600m)

Great video mate, i like the new format. It looked like a cracking event, will definitely be adding it to my calendar for next year!
Thanks very much Ian! Ah yes I know you'd wanted to do this one, I'll be an offroad GOD by then ;)

Well done Dan.... 😁👏👏👍
Thanks very much :)
Well done Dan! Would you say the run course is a definite trail shoe course? Was anyone using super-shoes/ racing shoes?
Thanks Shaun! Well I did see some people in race shoes, but I was definitely comfier in trail shoes. The technical part was such a small part of the race it's probably still faster in fast shoes, just got to take it sensible, it was very dry that day though

Dan may have triathlon in the channel.title but he's not the person to ask about swimming! 😉
Do as I say not as I do ;)
