Lmao this is exactly how everyone played in high elo when i played it 💀 shit was atrociously hard to keep up with but eventually everyones movements becomes SOOOO predictable after a couple days of playing and their portals very easy to read

last sequel i expected tbh
i was good at splitgate 1 & loved it so I was sad when it dropped off. i am excited to hop into 2 to try it again. I think the options are they're to make it easy for players to hop in
Jev mentioning that he's never played TDM with rounds. I don't know any other games outside of Gears of War that had multiple rounds for TDM, but it has definitely been a thing before.
to be fair about gears that game usually has modes of multiple rounds, so it's pretty unique in that case.

Gears 3 had multiple round TDM and the mode itself was unique as teams shared a pool of revives instead of "whichever team gets x kills first wins"
You'd have situations where you have 3 people left alive with no more respawns going up against a full team with 2-3 respawns to spare. Amazing clutch moments were possible
Me and my friends played the first game since day one for about a week, took a couple days off from the game and when we came back it was like everyone were pro players, couldn’t compete at all, everyone was so much better.

I played that game religiously and I can tell you the main reason that happened is because the game was constantly bleeding casual players so the majority of players left after the first few weeks were the best players cause they’re the only ones genuinely enjoying the game every average or below player either quit or barely played atp

Since day-one on console or PC? Because if it's console, you probably just came back after they implemented cross-play. If it was PC, then it was probably because the game didn't have much growth for its first few years, leading up to the console launch.

You should play doom eternal modded multiplayer like Slayer vs Slayer or Invasion Mode. Peak multiplayer in my opinion.

@@Jsidious77not true. Almost every server is filled at max and activision can’t do anything about it. The files got leaked so anyone can just keep re-hosting the server.

as someone who has over 1000 hours on splitgate 1 I am SO hype to see these new changes. the weapon loadouts and attachments alone got me foaming from the mouth.
Two more things this game needs to survive. 1 A ranked mode that has legitimately good rewards 2 a PVE mode to relax and chill too wave based killing robots or zombies

Absolutely seems like an improvement in almost every single way. At the same time, seeing those devs FLY through the map, gives me the same feeling as the first game. I just don't have the time or care to get that good. Don't nerf it, don't kill the game, but add a no portals gamemode. Sounds fucking stupid I know, but so did No Build on Fortnite, and on any given day those two modes both have 250K concurrent players. Give the player the opportunity to play how they want without choosing to not play the game itself.
Let people who put the time in continue to stomp, and give people who still like the gunplay, maps etc a chance to play more casually. We CAN have both.
Honestly, the mechanics of the game itself even without the portals seems like a fun modern arena shooter. They could really make something adjacent to halo here.

i feel like instead of doing that, why not just add a party gamemode like you can have infection, juggernaut, melele only. I don't think they need to make a gamemode where you don't use portals
The portalling mechanics aren't that difficult to learn, and come naturally over time, while playing the game. The no portals mode in SG1, was the devs effectively killing their game to appease a more casual audience. No portals mode means there will be little to no inspection with the portalling and non portalling players, and the non-portal players will have a fundamentally different understanding of the game and how maps work; it segregates the playerbase.
So instead, here's a thought, if you don't want to use the mechanics the game is known for, then don't play the game. Fortnite isn't a good comparison either, as that started life as a co-op pve shooter. Everything, including building, was added on in interactions over time; it's identity and gameplay was never built around the building mechanics, like the portalling mechanics are in Splitgate.

Wym, titanfall was a pretty successful game enough of a success to warrant a sequel that improved on all the criticisms of the first and was a big success. Only reason we never got titanfall 3 is cause of apex legends.

Titanfall never got off the ground because it didn't give you a reason to come back, there was nothing to grind for and no competetive, and the game had virtually 0 way of generating revenue, so as a live service game it just fell over.
I actually had alot of fun on splitgate and played it for a while after it came out, nice to see it come back

Jev is speaking straight facts that's literally what happened to The Finals, 8:32 Embark took away all the strategy and skill from the game to make the casual noobs happy. The noobs started complaining because they are constantly getting shit on by players that take the time to learn the guns and the abilities. The Finals community wants the game to have absolutely no potential of having a comp scene, they want the weapons and abilities to have no potential of skill involved or out-play If you mention the weapons are week they will Mob you down because they want nothing to have skill involved.

? Are you saying it’s a skill issue? I drop 40+ on xdefiant everytime I’m on. It’s boring there’s no camos to unlock other then weapon levels and it’s stale af with kinda garbage maps. I played all betas and waited 2 years for xdefiant it’s been beyond a dissapointment

But to each their own I just don’t think the hate is from people not being good at it cuz my whole group stopped playing in 2 days cuz what’s the point if everything’s unlocked except 5 camos…
@@sagynagy7322 I agree for the most part but, old cods are hard to play on console because there's not many people playing the games anymore and unlike pc you can't play the upcoming remaster. But Xdefiant is the closest thing console players have to a classic cod-like game with a large current amount of players active. So about what you said "what's the point if everything is unlocked except 5 camos" I agree, there's not a lot of content and the maps aren't all that great either, but for most of the console players that's the best they've got right now and instead of players saying "I don't like it it sucks" I think more people should send actual quality feedback so we can take this rare opportunity where we have a game without sbmm and with listening devs, and support them in molding this game into something greater for everyone to enjoy.

I only started to get into splitgate once they added the No Portal mode, gave me classic Halo vibes that just hit, and finally found a game I could 50 - 2 and feel like a MLG god so if this brings the same mode but with all the maps it will slap! also seen they bringing a new Warhammer space marine!! now that is going to be NUTS!

A lot of people who haven't played and only seen trailers said the strong points and weapon pickups seemed to be entirely gone, but here I saw they were definitely still there. Seems that what you spawn with is all the weaker weapons. Basically, no more carbine/pistol only, you can absolutely choose different things to mix up your starting point.
