Thanks for battling the mosquitoes to bring us another fascinating story. Your work is fantastic.
You tell all your stories as if you were speaking to a friend.
Thanks, Chris
*_This was a great video, first of all! Those bunkers were ridiculously cool, all I could think of was how they could be renovated. You know, a good paint job with a cheery color, maybe some kind solar-powered generator hooked up to get through the winter, etc. That graveyard in such a remote area did remind me of a story I heard, about these U.S. Army Soldiers back in the 1970s that were ordered to clear out a small town very similar to this. The story focused on three or four Soldiers that were making one last sweep of the place and they passed through an old graveyard just like the one featured here. Then all kinds of strange things began to happen to them, like something out of a scary movie. The story was told on one of those "True Paranormal Story" shows, by one of the Soldiers involved and you could tell he still had no idea what was going on there, but it still spooked him. Keep up the good work & stay safe out there!_*
Amazing video. I grew up just down the street, it was the best times when parent just let you run wild.... literally 😂 you definitely did you research on this. It makes me very happy that the story will never die. Dad started telling me about it, but with the internet now there is so much more information. ❤
I've been watching your channel for years and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the videos. I'm gettin too old and way too broke for travelling around, so thanks man. Best wishes to you and yours. The Dude.
I bumped into you on that property (the guy with the three big dogs). Anyway, love your channels and cool places you go 👍
Wow, that cemetery is incredible! A true testimony to the poor souls that were displaced and affected in that take over.
And kudos to the people that are taking good care of it! I want to do that so badly with the one down the road from me in Dayton Oregon but it’s owned by a private party and they don’t want anybody on it which is really sad because people still go there and it’s just decimated 😔
Love your videos. Wish you could find more home houses in the woods types.
The bunkers are very cool. Interesting story
The people buried there from 1800 be interesting to know some of their stories.
Wow, all the bunkers I've ever seen or been in were empty. Boy did they echo!! Elias Sechler, PA Civil War veteran buried in one of the cemeteries there with flat stone and placard of confederate bullet and him falling in Battle of Fredericksburg. Its pretty large and hard to miss.
Hi I am so glad you showed me the big bridge I have never been that far, everything was so beautiful, think you for taking the time to show it, I hope those flying insects didn't bite you, you know I always love your videos 💕
Surprisingly I had very few bites!
You need to get one of🦟 those bug net head gear things for areas like this,🦟 and a safe bug spray🦟 too.. 🦟🦟😅👍🏻
Some of those burial plots could have been pre-purchased before the town was gone, that would account for some of the date differences. 😔
Love the stories Chris!
You are better than the US Mail, for you've made your way through nearly everything (including mosquitos) to bring us a story. And what a story this one is. Thanks to you, we now know about this place (I certainly didn't prior to your video), and of the sad story of what happened to the inhabitants of Wisetown (sp?). It is made all the worse by the fact that the government only used these bunkers and the land for less than one year. I suppose war covers a multitude of sins. In any event, thank you, Chris, for again bringing us a piece of history heretofore hidden from many.
Bravo cool stuff as always
Awesome video as well as the history.
Good stuff brother . God Bless
Another great part of the American history. Thank u Chris for the video.😊
Cool and interesting video.
Awesome video, and by the way, I see those pesky flies and mosquitos.😅 like the one in Arizona desert that followed you around.
Good video thanks.
Big Howdy from Williamsport!
You need to wear one of those rechargeable big chasers!!!!
These sites are all over the country and a few of them are still in use. Some of them were even used to store and destroy chemical weapons like mustard gas a sarin nerve agent.
Sickening
@@melikemusic753 It's sickening that the US destroyed their entire chemical weapons stockpile?
That last one would be a great house, except for the lack of windows. No worries about storm straight winds or funnels. This is interesting history but not so good for the people who had to move away and leave a family heritage behind. Our government! Displacing the town and spending all that money for the land and for the bunkers and then giving it away a year or two later. Sounds about right. I love my country but politicians certainly dont have a thought about spending lots of our tax money, and often very foolishly!! Nothing ever changes on that front.
Sum similar to, Igloo,SD. were sis an oldest bro born. dad shuveled coal for boilers to heat miliaty town. now units sold for homes and survivalists. Dad built home in Edgemont with lumber from munition crates..
I was swatting bugs through this whole vid
i wouldnt be surprised if they chose that area because of the number of days of cloud cover like the revenna arsenal in ohio
Have you to the TNT bunkers in Point Pleasant yet
Nice Video!!
🍃💮🇮🇳💮🍃
Gr8 story! Thank you
Bless your ❤ with those miserable skeeters 😒
My ♥️’s on 🔥, Alvira 🎵
Until you explained, I thought maybe you had an accident and got poop on yer lens.
😉👍
Thanks for the tour Chris!
🤠👍
😂
You are close to where i live lol
Imagine getting locked in one of those bunkers by some nut!
Throw in an m80 and close the doors lol
😵🤡
Why central PA? Because it was close enough to Richmond to feed the Navy.
Do you mean Elvira? I just started so you may have did this deliberately. Great videos anyway, Kind Sir! :)
It is absolutely disgusting that the government can use imminent domain to force average citizens from their land. There should be some kind of recourse that can stop it.
Well, now they have realized that the land is more profitable if the people remain, so they just decimate it now, rebuild, and create subsidies with penalty clauses that are extremely anti-human rights.. a.k.a. 15 minutes cities.
Not during a World War.
Eminent Domain
@@Ganiscol , not just that but most folks where glad to help in any way possible ! God bless this wonderful country !!
I make nice homes I would live there you don't have to worry about tornadoes😂😂😂
Exactly!
The bunkers should be fine for housing
Look out for ticks, chiggers, and snakes!!!
I'm sure there's plenty of them out there
I’m surprised nobody has stolen the concertina wire, obviously it’s not in California
Her name is Elvira: Mistress of the dark.
RUclips is so strange. I see this is published 9 hours ago. I got the notification NOW. Such speed RUclips..
Some things never change, government still lying, stealing land, wasting money. And maybe those mosquitoes are Bill Gate's, lol🤷🏼♀️
Allegedly, the nuclear material for Fat Man and Little Boy was stored there, too.
Avon skin so soft can keep the bugs down some
Amazing how you always find this stuff. The US government working for you. Thank you.
🇺🇸🇺🇦❤🤍💙💛
They needed a place to be away from the general population for safety of the civilization
