I saw the thumbnail, and remembered.... # used to mean "number"!!!!! and it was called "pound" omg what has become of us!! RUN FOR YOU LIVES!!! WE'RE ALL BEING BRAINWASHED!! #poundsignisnothashtag
"We are gonna be True Pacifists." Yeah, okay, I remember how this went last time. "/further explanation" You know, I really should have seen that coming...
26:45 - See this is exactly why Quill needs to pacify the universe. All those silly organics firing their weapons around willy-nilly with not a single thought to any poor innocent robot that might be harmed.
Well, either that or "You are a danger to your species so we are going to put you and your species under house arrest and watch you 24/7 to make sure you never do anything dangerous." but that's usually only if they have a rule that prevents them from harming humans.
cant wait for this to release this week. I want to do sorta inverted Borg where i'm not assimilating you to further the Collective, i'm assimilating you to save your frail existence. You are better off with us....
Quill's motto really ought to be "Welp, lets murder everything then." As this tends to be his play style when streaming or recording XD Even when he doesn't START that way.
Excellent video quill18. I like your style and subscribed. The Stellaris games look great but seem to have a high learning curve. One day maybe I'll get into it but right now I'm playing enough complicated games.
I've never noticed it until now but, the Round symbol, fourth from the left at the very bottom. For a second I thought I was looking at the glyph for the Mantle of Responsibility from Halo..
We are Legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world. You cannot escape your doom. I *am the vanguard of your destruction* ~Sovereign
Love the frequent dlc and patches for Stellaris, but it always puts a pause in my playtime. Because i just cant play without some of the mods until they are updated. More ships, traits, traditions, star types, event mechanics, weapons, planet traits, colonization events etc etc. And there's a non-SyntheticDawn required mod that adds animated portraits for, yes, space mecha-dinosaurs.
9:55 It means "If your ruler is of this species, everyone's opinion is affected like so." 27:50 If RUclips allowed embedding images, I'd plug in one of those "Lewd! But I approve" photos.
Taking bets on if he will go over 30 episodes and actually reach the midgame for once, never mind the endgame. I mean the game is finally in a state where it has those things.
His previous series actually made it 95% thru midgame if you define late game as beginning when the crisis hits. There were commenters who mentioned that at the game date he stopped at that if he hadn't conquered one of the only two fallen empires that the war in heaven crises could have started by then, but the only valid crises left had a later start date.
This looks neat. And luckily I got payed last week and have all my bills paid. Will be getting this for sure. Wonder how the A.I rebellion will work with this.
GOD i want the Advisor Voice feature to be in the free patch. I am not really interested in playing as synthetics, but i'd love the variation in advisor voices depending on your government. But 9.99 for just that, maybe not such a great deal.
I always always choose the "Resettlement cost +25/50%" trait for literally all my species in all my games of Stellaris. It is the given choice for a free trait point for practically no downside. Unless you play democratic civs, but i always play authoritarian and resettling is something i almost never do except in very rare circumstances. Its just kinda weird how resettle costs are considered as important as -25% build speed or -10% minerals for example, which is absolutely huge penalties that affect Eeeverything you do in the game.
You definitely should have gone with the gear flag... "The thing people don't realise about the gear wars is that it wasn't really about the gears at all"
I do not know what I would do, but I know I would do a machine empire, a hive mind empire and a humanoid (my choice) empire. I will be watching this closely.
Yeah im late but whatever, when ifound the channel recently i always go to playlists to see if they play games i like, saw stellaris, got excited. When he picked research alternatives as one of the civic picks i was so childishly triggered i clicked away and now its a month later. Take 2.
Why is nobody talking about how incredibly, ridiculously overpowered synthetic/robot species are? Immortal and can inhabit any planet... ? Very little to any downside ? Amazing civics?
demonsbanenathan .... You have to spend a insane amount to build a single unit.... Not as good in the early game when recources are sparce... You can get alot of planets but you can't utilize them....
fishworshipper I thought it was only the assimilation robots... Of course I don't even own the game and just gather knowledge through watching multiple different people play it
shiwanabe is right, it's this special case scenario of Mars. Regarding the patch, he obviously has to have the paradox-intern beta patch as well, otherwise SD wouldn't be playable at all. Edit: Look at the start of the video, it says "version Capek v1.8.0"
i hate those robotic fleets, even if i have superior fleet numbers/fleet power ( even at a ratio of 2 to 1 ) i still loose at least 10 ships in every battle :/ Worse part is those fallen empires became awakend and now i regret not managing my relations better with them. Oh well
Militant pacifiers. Seems like an oxymoron at first glance, but it works.
Isn't it what 'MURICA thinks of itself?
Q_Q
there is no war if there is no one to fight it
...
Really? I watch your video.
Also you said this yourself
Iiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmpeeeeeerrrrriiiiiiaaaaalllllllllliiiiiiiiiisssssm
*Reaper Roar in the distance*
I will pacify anyone, anywhere. Children, animals, old people, doesn't matter. I just love pacifying.
I'm glad you've found a way to embrace your inner peace. Let's hope it stays that way for at least 2 episodes.
You should've gone with the paci-fist as your flag.
I saw the thumbnail, and remembered.... # used to mean "number"!!!!! and it was called "pound" omg what has become of us!! RUN FOR YOU LIVES!!! WE'RE ALL BEING BRAINWASHED!! #poundsignisnothashtag
At leas you put "Pacifist" in quotes so we know what you really mean.
Nice Reference, Michael.
Quill: "Ooh boy, here I go pacifying again."
Finally Quill can play a Pacifist Run, like he always intended to.
Well the source of war is factions. Therefore to end all war there must be only one faction left in the galaxy.
Pacifist?

Saw the title. Scoffed a little. I know how Quill's "Pacifism" usually turns out. 5 minutes in and I was reassured Haha
Numa - I only needed ten seconds.
Hive Mind Name list is intended for Organics ... there is a Machine naming list
"We are gonna be True Pacifists."
Yeah, okay, I remember how this went last time.
"/further explanation"
You know, I really should have seen that coming...
LOL one of the anomalies was the mars used to support a biosphere
This anomaly is guaranteed to be on mars. Selecting Sol as the starting system guarantees you a second (small) planet in your homesystem.
I love how this 'pacifist exterminators' run might be a subtle nod to how his actual pacifism attempts at any game have turned out so far.
This is the only kind of pacifism we know here.
At least he used the quotes.
26:45 - See this is exactly why Quill needs to pacify the universe. All those silly organics firing their weapons around willy-nilly with not a single thought to any poor innocent robot that might be harmed.
damn serviceman chung... this is why you check your targets, this is why you wait for the computer to give you a damned firing solution!
"You are a danger to your species so we are going to kill you and your species" - AI logic.
Well, either that or "You are a danger to your species so we are going to put you and your species under house arrest and watch you 24/7 to make sure you never do anything dangerous." but that's usually only if they have a rule that prevents them from harming humans.
3:30 I was actually, seriously convinced you were going to go total pacifist, with no wars or fleets or anything. I wanted to believe. :D
You missed your chance to name the species Tranquills...
Woo-hoo! Finally, I can make my Dalek Empire!
Yes, I know the Dalek's are technically organic, but they might as well be robots.
let me guess. . . this is another "peaceful" play through :P
You should have picked lasers as your starting weapons. They're more elegant, precise; it would've been the logical choice.
But do jack against shields. Mass drivers are fast, tear through shields, and don't lose energy over long distances. Much more logical.
Not sure if Quill or Ultron
Ryan Miech Just thought that
Why not both? Quilltron
beat me to the punch dammit!
Cyber Goblin I knew someone was gonna day that
You can have allies, they just have to be AI as well.
BIkaloss I thought you were a hair on my screen. *triggered
kyle witt exactly I tried scratching it off lol
If anyone likes this sort of Hive Mind Stuff, I can heartily recommend the Commonwealth Saga from Peter F. Hamilton. Fantastic Sci-Fi Trilogy.
Always impressive with how much this game has constantly been improved even at the most basic level. This game is nearly indistinguishable today.
I absolutely love your backstory for the race! lol
Noooo! You should have called it Earth 2.0!
"And that's why you don't 'eyeball it', Serviceman Burnside!"
good starting episode. let's go to the next one.
The Quillbots were so sorry for Pluto they shaped their heads to look more like it.
cant wait for this to release this week. I want to do sorta inverted Borg where i'm not assimilating you to further the Collective, i'm assimilating you to save your frail existence. You are better off with us....
Quillbots, sounds like an 80's series / toyline, I quite approve :D
Quillbots? Quillians? There will be a time when your skill in naming your species will match your skill in playing this game. :D
I had not noticed the quotation marks around "pacifists" when I clicked on the video. Good one ^^
Synaptic Nexus is a pretty epic name.
3:38 Quill explains the plot of almost every Sentient AI movie ever made..
All we need now is quill doing the Harbinger voice
That's right. Pluto is not a planet. Pluto is a dog.
In my head cannon Quill is playing out the the ancient history of the Dune series before the Butlerian jihad.
Control + Shift puts an order at the front of queue
I've never noticed it until now but, the Round symbol, fourth from the left at the very bottom. For a second I thought I was looking at the glyph for the Mantle of Responsibility from Halo..
Poor Pluto...always being bullied and told he is nothing like a real planet! :(
We are Legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world.
You cannot escape your doom.
I *am the vanguard of your destruction* ~Sovereign

I wish the game would let you draw and upload your own flags by default...
That is the best starting system I have ever seen.
Game starts at 17:27. Your welcome :).
9:55 It means "If your ruler is of this species, everyone's opinion is affected like so."
27:50 If RUclips allowed embedding images, I'd plug in one of those "Lewd! But I approve" photos.

Was anybody else looking for a peace symbol in the flags list?
you had me at "exterminate all life"
This looks neat. And luckily I got payed last week and have all my bills paid. Will be getting this for sure. Wonder how the A.I rebellion will work with this.
Aesthetic dawn
Finally a pacifist run that suits Quill's play style!
very interesting keep this going quill
Damnit I wanted this DLC... I guess i have to check you out then and broadcast it in 2 days =)
I love your games
Ah I should have known that this was quill "pacifist" playthrough
You can't spell pacifist without fist
pacify also means "to silence".
GOD i want the Advisor Voice feature to be in the free patch.
I am not really interested in playing as synthetics, but i'd love the variation in advisor voices depending on your government. But 9.99 for just that, maybe not such a great deal.
robot hive mind race... so the geth? I now have more reasons to want this game
love the "2010" reference... :D
There's actually a peace sign symbol for your flag under "Human."
I always always choose the "Resettlement cost +25/50%" trait for literally all my species in all my games of Stellaris. It is the given choice for a free trait point for practically no downside. Unless you play democratic civs, but i always play authoritarian and resettling is something i almost never do except in very rare circumstances.

He finally got the joke, he finally got it. The joke is that Quill can never play a pacifist even when he tries because people DW on him.
"Pacifists"
Top Ten Anime Betrayals
You definitely should have gone with the gear flag...
"The thing people don't realise about the gear wars is that it wasn't really about the gears at all"
When sir Isaac Newton comes to the forefront at Triton
Ahh, too short. I wish you released a double episode when you start a new series. :)
WELP time to binge
This is the best kind of pacifist.
Luxurious is like the worst trait, you can't ruin your early economy in such way.
Take 2.

demonsbanenathan .... You have to spend a insane amount to build a single unit.... Not as good in the early game when recources are sparce... You can get alot of planets but you can't utilize them....
12% chance per leader for that leader to die every decade, though. Regardless of age. So not truly immortal.
Also every other species hates you if you're synthetic.
fishworshipper I thought it was only the assimilation robots... Of course I don't even own the game and just gather knowledge through watching multiple different people play it
0% anomaly fail risk? Didn't they say they changed it to a minimum of 5% fail risk?
That change is part of the patch which may not be ready yet.
Also, I believe that the anomaly was 'Mars is a terraforming candidate'.
I'd be surprised if they made those or the precursor ones able to fail.
shiwanabe is right, it's this special case scenario of Mars. Regarding the patch, he obviously has to have the paradox-intern beta patch as well, otherwise SD wouldn't be playable at all.
Edit: Look at the start of the video, it says "version Capek v1.8.0"
It's the only logical outcome that as a pacifist you must first pacify any non pacifists
I just found this and you seem cool! so yea while reading what I wrote I sound like a robot XD
iat first i was like wait! pacifist but you are exterminators ........... and then it clicked
Synthetic Dong Expansion hypeeeeeeeeeee!! heh
7:28 It looks like a robotic Genji
I see what you did there...
This is Terminator
3 of 3 RUclipsrs... all chose the same machine picture... glowing ball on tentacles.... lol.
Quill... Pacifist? suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.
At first I didnt see the quotes around "Pacifist" and was like that would be a pretty boring play threw. Happy to be so wrong
Wooo moar robits!
Thank you. I'm thinking about buying it myself.
It seems to be so error free ..*lol*
If you want to end wars, teach better morals.
Please don't rush stuff this time. You made so many mistakes on your previous Stellaris LP because you played it like you were in kind of a hurry.
Your "pacifists" concept seems quite similar to the AI construct of the Reapers from Mass Effect... triggered.
The Reapers aren't the first or only fictional AI to take this approach to peace.
or to be fair the 5,000th... it's pretty much the go to 'sentient AI goes wrong' storyline
They do it with purpose, they just harvest all the remains for the good of all other organic races
It reminds me of Skynet, personally.
Quill brand "pacifism" is the best pacifism!
i hate those robotic fleets, even if i have superior fleet numbers/fleet power ( even at a ratio of 2 to 1 ) i still loose at least 10 ships in every battle :/ Worse part is those fallen empires became awakend and now i regret not managing my relations better with them. Oh well
It's the borg
No, the borg assimilate, add to their collective. These bots are out for all the blood and none of the mercy.
pop9095 less borg more cylon
more plz!
Anybody wonder if quill is SKYNET?
sounds like a Quill civ pacifist game...
after gaming on 7k stars, this looks sooo desolate.
Would Watchful Regulator Fallen Empire hate u at the start?
You do realize that you're using the Hive Mind namelist and not the Skynet one, right?
i think your looking for the term purifier, not pacifist.
At 16:35 Terminator Theme begins to play
:P i thought you meant truly pacifists
No Pluto, 0/10 Sol System
Right... "pacifists"
