Aloha, I have a question on your gaff with the rope- do you have loops to go on the bill after the gaff is set? How is that set up? Mahalo again for the videos, keeps me going when I catch a tan and no fish lol.....

The rope does not have loops, what i do is make half hitches which tighten around the bill when it’s pulled. Get flat nylon type rather than round (3 strand) rope as the bill will stick to it like Velcro 👍 once u half hitch it, it will not pull off even if the marlin starts to shake its head. Ah old trailer winch strap works well too! Thanks for watching again!

@@WindsAbove Mahalo for the info! The ratchet come-along is genius too, I have a 6:1 pulley in my boat but that looks like it works better.

Lilly O thanks for the reply. Also, whar caliber is your bangstik. Never used one, but after watching you am considering it. Was always worried but when solo I see it has many advanteges. Thanks

44 mag hollow points. gotta hit under water otherwise too much damage to the fish. to me its much safer with longnoses and it instantly knocks out the yellowfins...most times! hahaha! Safety first though!
