You forgot f1 22
F1 22 is not that bad
@@Sky_Ticktum_Yea I definitely think it's not bad. Just disappointing compared to previous years, and lacking.
@@Sky_Ticktum_ wrong
@@Sky_Ticktum_ It is unplayable on gamepad to me
It’s pretty bad. I played the crap out of F1 21 and stopped playing 22 after a month and a half. The handling was terrible.
I find it odd 2014 is mentioned when 2015 fundamentally was far more broken and buggy to play, and is the only Codemasters game to outright not have a career mode in it. At least 2014 had that.
It had a new engine and AI was massively improved
@@CrusaderAce24 that doesn't excuse the lack of career mode, the fact the game crashed Far more than any other F1 game had to that point and past it as well. As for the AI itself, F1 2016 had the exact Same AI And a career mode. 2015's only unique trait is that it also had the 2014 cars, but if you ever wanted to play a career using the 2015 cars, you're completely out of luck.
2015 was OK. 2013 is easily the worst.
@@JJames141 2015 is superior to 2014. the handling of f1 2014 was absolute dogshit, engine sounds were terrible some cars didnt have correct details on them among many other issues. f1 2009 is better than f1 2014 and f1 2009 is a scrapheap of a game at best.
The handling in F1 2014 was horrendous though. I remember it was like all the F1 cars were boats
No mention of 2009 for Wii
And PSP
It's actually quite fun as an arcade racing game
@@daidybearthepolarbear2851 yeah, I had it and loved it cos I could race as a Force India, but the graphic and the "damage" was really subpar
They weren’t mentioned bc they we’re really that bad
@@Dmooreslotreviews well it's not exactly supposed to be a realistic sim is it
I actually worked on F1 World Grand Prix 2000. We were using the same game engine that we used in 1999 for Le Mans 24 Hr, which actually was a good game for it's time.
I enjoyed F1 WGP 2000 a lot as a kid! Managed to install it on Windows 10 a few months ago (which was a bit of a pain), and still enjoyed it for what it was. Simple, but the career mode was quite fun. It's only "bad" when people compare it to Grand Prix 3, but that's a totally different genre to begin with.
And it had Tiff Needell for the tutorials!
@@yoshikempenaers8621 Lol yep, as did Le Mans 24hr. It was easier just to hire him again than look for someone else at short notice.
I play F1 WGP 2000 on ps1 and I enjoy a lot
bro is judging a ps1 game for its graphics 😭
You can compare that game with something like GT2 and RR4 and you'd probably see the point
@@strayednine8859People love to b*tch
@@strayednine8859real. GT and GT2 looked great for their time. If you play on an emulator and turn up the res, it looks great.
@@strayednine8859 you can even compare it to F1 97 which came a year Before and was way ahead in graphics for PS1 Standards
But if it's a direct port to PC from the PS1 then they could have updated a few things, like the graphics.
F1 2000 Championship Season was a much upgraded version of F1 2000 and actually wasn't terrible.
I love Championship Season 2000 for the PS1! The PS2 version sucked.
f1 22 is missing there
This comment reminds me of when people think Latifi is one of the worst F1 drivers ever
It's not as bad as these games
You have no idea for games y are useles
Tell me why?
@@instos4845 F1 98 is on here because it underdelivered compared to previous games and so is F1 2014. F1 22 is worse than 2021 which again was a step down from 2020. So it might be deserving of a spot here.
I think the list is missing Domark's F1 World Championship Edition from 1995. While being sorta fun in splitscreen head to head, the physics was more on the order of Moon Patrol than any accurate sim, yet it was still official F1 canon.
F1 games never had these issues back in the 50s and 60s…
I still love F1 98 on ps1 and occasionally boot it up on a emulator.
Yeah gameplay on it isn't nearly as good as it should be on the handling side, but for me the best times in F1 were the 97-2010 era, with Häkkinen on the earlier parts and Räikkönen on his prime on the latter half.
Especially the 98 season.
So the way it has that overall tv feel with the overlay timing graphics and then the most important part, commentators Matti Kyllönen And Erkki Mustakari made commentating track for the game (on the Finnish language setting off course)
And that whole package just presses the right nostalgic buttons on me that on a rainy night few laps on Australian track puts smile back on my face.
F1 2014 is not that bad is just a too basic game
bro it dosent matter the sound engine and handling
2014 deserves its place here because of that awful pace differential between pad and wheel on console. Absolutely ruined league racing until 2015 came out. It literally got to the point where the top leagues at the time (AOR, TRL) had to create wheel-only leagues so the wheel racers would have somebody to race besides themselves.
2014 was pretty good. They also had scenario mode.
Where is F1 22?
F122 is not a bad game, you buy it to sim race and it’s a good sim racer.
@@TheTwilight1924 have you even raced on it? There is nothing that is realistic about it, and sim racers are meant to be realistic
@@FORMULAF1NSTERZ yeah it’s fun and I have a blast playing with my friends
@@TheTwilight1924 yeah same here until Latifi kills me on lap 2
@@TheTwilight1924 its not fun ur just bad
Stil waiting for F1 2022
Nascar 21 ignition: hold my beer
Any game >>>>>>> NASCAR 21 Ignition
I guess that would be a really bad F1 game
Or any Nascar Heat games
@QF Dan it wasn't as bad as people think it is
Is that an F1 game? Can you read?
F1 98 is a hate crime.
"That's not what a hate crime is, Michael!"
F1 98 wasn't coded with physics the way F1 97 was. The whole approach was different, similar to rage racer etc. Control says turn right, track goes right or left relative to car, exceeds a certain rate, car spins. Symptoms were modelled, not causes. Even a child can tell they're being duped with coding like this. It never truly recovered. F1 97 had an engine like Gran Turismo. It wasn't super realistic but that's because of depth they didn't/couldn't add to the physics model due to coding time and hardware limitations. So they were both scalable with time and hardware improvements for future generations. Look at Gran Turismo now. F1 98 style coding was a dead end. And that's why FIA licensed F1 games sucked balls for years after F1 98. A true abomination of a game, and a real shame when F1 was so good around then with Hakkinen vs. Schumacher.
F1 championship season 2000 for the ps2 was fun as a kid. I used to love ramming cars & bouncing them around.
That's why I have stuck with Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix since '91
Can’t wait for f1 24 to be on the updated list 😂
First F1 game I played was Microprose F1 Grand Prix on the Amiga over 30 years ago, and a lot of F1 games since haven't even stood up to that vers.
They don't have the look the greatest as long as the game was good.
What bothers me is we never got great games intact any game for the 2007 to 2009 seasons for the big hitters.. I know we got 2009 on psp and wii but it just isn't the same as a ps3 or xbox 360 game would've been
The IMac version of F1 championship season 2000 is AMAZING the crashing graphics are one of the best and funny and there is an engineer that talks to you as well in the season mode the commentators from that season talk in cutscene parts
F1 98 has an awesome soundtrack and that's it.
As a child I played far far too much if that second 1998 game. Goodness knows why.
I'm pretty sure I own every single game you mentioned on here.
From 98-F122 on PS1-5. F1 09 on WII
F1 GP2 on PC I think it's called.
Trying to collect every F1 title for all my systems.
I have some for NES, SNES and maybe N64.
Where is f1 22
Ayooo where is F1 22?
f1 22 not there? ea killed it already...
I have some fond memories of '98 because it was my first F1 game, so there was the element of 'oh my god, an F1 game!', since I'd only just started watching the sport, but yeah, the handling was non existent.
F1 Championship Season 2000 left me feeling short changed. I left the PS1 game in pre-owned, thinking I was getting an upgrade, but a lack of options and challenge mode being removed in the PS2 game resulted in me getting the PS1 game back again.
Me and my friends always laugh about how the weather changing in F1 98 would be a line between the current weather and the new weather chasing you around the track.
I got an F1 game PC disc with a KitKat easter egg in about 2007 or 2008, i think it only had Monaco on it but i've always wanted to know what game it was.
F1 2014 is underappreciated
I loved Championship 2000, that was my childhood
I agree
I’ve always thought people hated G1 2009 because of the fact that you could play it on the Wii and for some reason no one likes the Wii.
Imagine if Polyphony Digital got the rights early on.
So they could ruin it like they did gran turismo
They make good car appreciation/collection games but not good racing games imo.
The driving in Gran Turismo is really good, it's the racing itself, it feels to processional as if you've interrupting them if you pass somebody.
The 90’s was my peak F1 era as a kid and I loved the N64 World Grand Prix game so much. Maybe not much to look at by the N64 was our first console since the master system so the step up from F1 championship on the mastersystem lol
Some nostalgic racing games i've played beside Zelda😅
What about F1 world championship for the commodore Amiga 600 you had to use the manual to go to a specific page then to a specific paragraph to find the word just to load to the game
The current licensing needs to be ripped from EA and given to decs who actually care about sim racing.
Let's see, Studi Liverpool is gone, Slightly Mad is gone, i can't think of any other developers
Its still Codemasters making F1 games, its just that EA owns them. Going off F1 2014 and the string of meh titles both before and after the EA acquisition (Including F1 2021, which the only EA involvement was a title graphic and logo on the box), I'm not sure EA has made much of a difference in said purchase.
Love it when Nathan (AKA PSL Racing) is on this channel. I appreciate when it comes to his logic and explanation and wording when it comes to his channel and the race articles
Dude, you mostly judged these by graphics, but with graphics you have to take in account of what year the game was made
'98 looks pretty cool!
That's about it!! The game sucks terribly!! Unplayable!!
We are gonna need to add f1 24 to this
Can't spell Chandler without Chad
I want f1 2014 and there’s nothing you can do to stop me
but why did they remove the classic cars in f1 2023????
yes I was very bummed too
F1 14 is underrated.
F1 98 had an amazing song in it I still listen to this day
F1 2015: I'm glad I'm not technically on the list😂
I’d put their mobile game on here. It was good before, but now it’s very P2W, there’s no way to practice, the tracks aren’t updated, and there’s multiple bugs that consistently occur.
F1 98 has nice music
F122 I don't think is that bad. It's not the best, but I've still been having fun with the careers
I remember trying to get into F1 again in high school after leaving it for a while when Schumacher stopped dominating and they had just released the V6 cars and maybe the worst F1 game ever which didn’t help
Anyway I haven’t watched anything till this season since then
i remember playing f1 2014 and the car would just snap sideways
skill issue
Worst? Just the previous 5, then add 1 each new year and remove the oldest.
F12014 was a reskin of all the basics from that engine copypasted from 2011-2013, but with all the really good bits removed.
2013 had lag spikes, auto-spin kerbs and the floating bollards of death. 2014 was horrid. Terrible handling model, massive pace difference which favoured pad users over wheel users in the console versions, just all around a bit shit. 2015 had no career mode, an equally bad handling model, over-aggressive AI (on online), an utterly broken penalty system for track limits, and 2018 Vettel levels of sidepod glitches. Utterly broken games
98? Are you for real dude.
Meanwhile GP vs Superbike:
I will not have a bad word said about fq championship season 2000 for the ps2. It wasn't great, but pinging other drivers around was a lot of fun.
Anyone remember World Circuit for the Amiga? Not saying it belongs on this list.
I’d rather hear about the best, ignoring the newer games.
We need nutty crash physics
I'd also put F1 22 in there. It was the first one after the EA acquisition, had poor Gameplay compared to 21 and the addition of regular sports cars was aweful. Also it came with even more microtransactions.
I love f12014, there are loads of mod including the whole 2023 grid
sports are a perfect excuse to bring out shitty games every year that hardly improve or even take a step back on the previous one
Sadly, that's in the contract for sports games: They have to produce a "new" game every year, no one is allowed to make one game and add seasonal improvements or content. Thus, the awful "Yearly Sports title" model is what we're stuck with.
My friend had F1 97 and we played the shit out of that it, it was so good, for Christmas the next yr I asked for F1 98.I'm still annoyed at how bad it was, 97 was so SOOOOO much better, even the cheats like the wipeout mode or big wheel mode was so much fun, it put me of f1 games for years.
Since when did The Race become clickbait?
how is this clickbait? it is titled "5 of the worst f1 fames ever" and he gave a list of what he or the people working the channel see as the top 5 worst f1 games. This is the opposite of clickbait lol
F1 on N64 was the bomb.
So 2014 was mentioned but 2015 wasn’t even on the list?
There was ZERO career mode on ‘15. If we’re pointing out ‘14s removed content then ‘15 is arguably the most bare bones F1 game
F1 2009 for wii is worth a mention here, even if it's more the console's fault than the developer ( it was sinceraly difficult to do a better job)
No mention of 2011 for 3DS
F1 2001 was so buggy as to be completely useless. A teenage me called them up and asked for a refund it was so unfinished
F1 2001 from EA is Missing, this game can not playing. The 2001 from Studio Liverpool his the a of best F1 Game for PS2, but F1 2006 is a littel better
You forgot Grand Prix Rock&Racing
You can’t include games from the 90s 💀
F1 22:
F1 2015:
En France on a eu un jeu pc, nommé "Prost grand prix".
Le pire jeu de f1 que j'ai joué, avec Formula one 98, aguri Suzuki F1 sur super Nintendo, et F1 2009 sur Wii.
They still don't do classic content and people should stop buying games every year until they do again.
Also the V6 vacuum cleaner engines had F1 take a massive drop in audience. And yet FIA still don't understand that people don't like it...
PS1/PS2 Formula 1 97 was astonishingly good!! The graphics and controller response is almost like a similator!! Formula 1 98 was a total joke!!
F1 2014 is a really fun game and is much better than anything codemasters has done since 2015 until now.
Honestly the only reason 2015 is better than 2014 is cause it includes the 2014 cars, otherwise i'd say 2015 was also a big misstep, i mean it didn't even have career mode
Is that Formula 1 98 clip going off a jump? Seems pretty rad to me.
No F1 car beyond the 60's aren't supposed to make jumps like that.
Formula 1 98 looking so real.
This list needs to be updated so f122 and f124 are added
Best racing game ever. Need for speed Porsches unleashed. Only game that truly had the full line up from the earliest to about 99 So hard but it would be cool to see on a sim
I feel like F1 2015 only included the 2014 season, because F1 2014 was so bad
You can now add f1 24 I guess
Welp F1 2014 was like F1 2013
F1 2015 was the worst F1 game of all time. Buggy on release. The invention of hoppers. Horrible game.
F1 career challenge of ps2 was unplayable
You missed the codemasters first dumpster on the Nintendo wii f1 2009
Is this trending again because F1 24 is atrocious?
I'm looking for the best here, can anyone help me out?
F1 2018? What was the latest year the classic cars were removed?
The classics are still ingame in F1 2020 (If I recall correctly)
@@lukashaggenmuller8917 oh great! Does it also have the other historical tracks like Sepang and others? Sorry I don't know much about the F1 games.
@@groundedgaming sadly no, there are only the tracks meant for the original, planned 2020 season. So although there is Australia, Japan, México, and China that didn't have races in 2020, it lacks the "Auxiliary" tracks that did have races in 2020, like the Nurburgring, Portimao, and Mugello.
@@JessidGallardo ok.
So what is the game that has the most tracks?
@@groundedgaming F1 2022 has the most. It has all 22 tracks on the F1 calendar and also added portimao and Shanghai, so 24 in total
question for f1 youtube, cus i forgot the name of the f1 game i had as a kid and would love to know if anyone knows it, all i remember is it had a purple disc and it was on like the ps1 or a very early ps2 game. it had michael on it as my favourite driver in the ferrari.
i played a lot of F1 2014 and i have to say it's definitely not that bad, people love to hate it just because they compare it to the 2013, but looking the game by himself is a ok game
F1 14 is goated😭🙏
You watch your mouth! 98 was an absolute beast of a game!
How I missed PSL's voice...
F1 2009 was so bad he erased it from memory
