Dam throwback game right here. Remember being so bummed it wasn’t on consoles back in the day
I don't feel like this game was ahead of its time, it was a polished gamble that ended up discovering how much outer space FPS games were more of a niche than we thought
This thing is a dream come true as this is the pinnacle of the 2000s PC exclusive games era and a true bummer for Futuremark as I remember when the community pushed them to make a game
This was my favourite game and still is a sequel would be amazing.
If you can find physical copies, they indeed still activate on Steam. I think they pulled it from sale due some online features related to ranks etc. no longer being online.
I swear the menu looks like Unreal 2.
The "sound in space" trope is very stubborn, meaning most film directors and game directors settle on Earth-like sound effects, which I've always found to be a big mistake. To me it is not less, but more atmospheric (and of course more true-to-life) when you have no sound.
I believe Firefly & Serenity got it right
