You gonna look away and suddenly they built Minas Tirith on that mountain.
Bro this comment made my day hahahahahah con you imagine?
@lacuevawow9297 you dont need to imagine its probably being built as we comment
@@inviz835 do you thinks so? We should search if someone did it
@@lacuevawow9297 That moutain has the perfect shape for it.
@@Alex-K94 that was the entire point. Monas tirith was the blueprint. Asmon drew it out and explained it in episode 1 of this series
Need to build big ass fires on the other mountains so you can call Rohan for aid.
Rohan will answer.
They won't leave immediately though. They'll leave their gates at maybe the crack of....2:30 PM. Maybe a 1hr mountain dew dorito break here and there.
With how many people there are in Asmons community its 100% possible. Imagine on release people split into 2 teams, one builds gondor, the other rohan. And you could even get some guys to role play as the guardians of the beacons, make it an epic event. All the 30 year old nerds are living for shit like that

This is the most "the boys" moment of this game that I've seen so far
The boys are not just back in town, they BUILT the town!
Give men rocks, they'll start digging holes and build castles xD
Dudes just built Doru Araeba in 3 days.
Only men of a certain calibre...
@@Billy-bc8pkyep only a sigma men can build castle on Minecraft
I really hope they get the combat done well. That will make this one of the best games of the decade or leave it as a good builder but nothing special.

Sometimes player made structures can really be inspiring to other gamers. I made a really cool stone tower with a really dramatically embellished top level on top of a mesa in a desert in a game once. The structures needed to be maintained once a week or they would start to degrade. I stopped playing the game for over 2 years, but when I came back to check it out again because it was shutting down in a month, my tower was still there. Two years had gone by, and there had been passersby over those over 100 weeks that took the time to clean up my abandoned tower just because of how impressive it looked looming on the horizon even while it was surrounded by the corroded ruins of less impressive abandoned structures.
What game was that?
what game was that
🧢
Bittersweet moment.
So like real life? The highest achievements of the ancient civilizations, which still stand, are preserved by current civilization (most of these buildings are claimed by current civilization, but whatever, the result is the same. It inspires, and they are maintained.)
It genuinly looks like a real citadel, the houses in the corners and the shops at the beginning make it feel like a real medeival structure. Marvelous
It's *Minas Mongold.*

Asmonhold
This game seriously brought about some good nostalgia of when i first played minecraft. I love it.
for me it is skyrim and mount and blade, also bit of starbound. it feels like u belong to this world u have a place to return to, a place where u know u've build this, u are someone who make this possible. such an amazing feeling
I hope they add a system to make caves so you can have a kingdom in the mountain like lotr.
Two key features missing still, big (wooden) gate and the drawbridge across the river right in front of it.
Hope they add siege mechanics to this game, would love to see a full scale assault on this place
Along with horses and mounted combat, as well as beasts of burden and carts/wagons for transporting goods between pve zones. Could make for interesting pvp situations and commerce.
Seeing this place being destroyed would be sad
@mathieul4303 Remember, you give more value to something when it can be lost. Raise the stakes.
@@mathieul4303 That's the whole point. If they create pvp zones with building and full pvp with building destruction it would create great battles over land. That being said, I would assume that they would also have pve zones without the possibility of having your buildings destroyed. Or, maybe, temporary events in which they enable full destruction, but revert everything back after the event. Then people could test out how well their buildings stand against an assault.
@@IIKafkaI don't think you give anything more meaning by being able to lose it. You're just honing in on people human instinct of fearing loss and death.
This game being forced into being a medieval Rust experience would most likely ruin it.
Just make it a server option, a toggle for the base, an area to build in restriction so you know what you're signing up for. (Like PvP servers)
My only criticism towards this game is the same as towards most if not all medieval themed games: castles were not mossy ruins when they were new. Their walls were usually plastered white, so they would shine in the sunlight and could be seen from miles away, it was a flex and a projection of power. This bare-bones look was usually a thing for forts mostly, especially later on when they started using bricks more in the star-shaped forts that came after cannons became popular around the 1500's. Too bad we do not have accurate depictions of castles in media, they probably looked magnificent in their hay-day!
On a side-note, the pyramids in Giza looked very different too, they were covered in white marble, were smooth and their tips had golden plating. Now that probably shined like the nuclear flash in the desert sun!
We'll probably get more building materials as the game progresses. You raise some fair points tho
Some would speculate that it wasnt a desert when the pyramids were built.
@@im4freedom444 It was more lush than now but still a desert
@@AleksiJuvakkait's awesome that you were around back then so you can tell us what it was like 👍 👌
@@im4freedom444 No speculation, it was scientifically proven that Egypt and nearby areas of the continent were very rich in vegetation, it was prosperous and as green as it gets.

If this game lets you build like this then I need to get money for a new PC, Minecraft 2.0
Is there any footage of the builders POV?
A time lapse would be really cool too.
I just started watching your channel and after going through the backlog, this castle-building series has been my favorite thing from you. Please keep going and making this castle/city/mountain thing as crazy as you can. Thanks.
I must say the game developers giving Asmongold 1k game keys is probably one of the smartest things they could've done .
Lmfao I fuckin love when he's standing at the edge of a cliff, looking at the beautiful scenery, and some random player just leaps to their death. It's happened so many times, and I laugh every damn time haha.
This is so good. The proportions, the scale, someone knew their stuff and it's cool to see people coordinate around a great idea
Once this game doesn't need invites I will happily be a resource minion. I love multiplayer logistics.
It would be so cool if you could "build" NPC's and vendors that can be upgraded, along with other cool unique NPC quest givers, like a you fully build the world and server up
Ya it has been a blast playing this game. The building is addicting and varied. Still needs some tweaks but really good for the most part. Super excited when they drop the early access later rhis year.
Man, i've been waiting so long for a game like this, just building with the boys while watching Asmon walking through it. I'm 34, been following Asmon for a decade now. I was there when he was raiding, i was there when he lost his mom, and i'll be there when he quits streaming (AGAIN). I don't have nostalgia anymore with most games, but I do have it when viewing asmon. Dude, you are a living memory and i love it so much, thank you! Love you!
22:30 The beacons are lit, Gondor calls for aid
My love for architecture has increased immensely because of this game.
I'd love to raid your fortress in a souls game, best compliment I can give.
If 8 hours passes in 3 hours, that means a third of a day in-game passes in 3 hours time. One tenth of a day passes in 1 hour. Pax Dei runs on metric time.
If a third of a day in game passes in 3 hours real time, then a third of that, or one ninth of a day in game, passes in an hour real time.
9 hours
One tenth of a day is 2.4 hrs... but 8/3 = 2.666667 hours of game time that pass in 1 hour. Maybe close enough? Idk
9 hrs x 60 min = 540 minutes
540 min x .10 = 54 minutes is .1Day
It’s exactly 54 minutes so an hour is pretty spot on
Them:Finally my architect study tuition paid off
ME: I learned architectural in game
“All King Asmon requires is this: a simple offering of earth and water.”
Well, if Pax Dei devs are good at looking this as feedback. Then expect building structure 2.0. Main selling point is:
- More building components for filling the gaps & dynamic shapes for building
- Dynamic nature respond to construction on plant spawns
His clan/guild's build also works as a good stress test
Asmongold walks into the tall grass. "An Architect has appeared!"
The amount of people commenting about what they could add into the game is awesome, There's so much that could be done with this game. Im putting this on my wishlist Asap.
19:30 Those are HEMA moves, nice.
Your facial expression said it all when you went to look over the wall. That makes me want to try it. I've put my time in Rust, ready for a new base builder.
Build a huge gate between 2 mountains and behind Saurons tower
I think this will be the first MMO I’ll join you, I’m going to build you a fleet of ships
How did you put this out so fast? I literally just saw it on stream ealier.
All he does.
he has like 10 editors man he doesn't do any of this its called being a professional. he's one of the best
his editors are working while he streams and just cut specific topics into different videos
1000 people working together. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Seeing the valley light up at night, all the fires in the hearths throughout... it is absolutely magical.
The claim area should be grid based IMO, and you should get 4 claims. That way, if you build as a group, you can plan better.
Thar is impressive. The last I saw was them just getting started, and they did a bunch in just an hour.
I wound up with my own key and started day 1 of the Alpha 2. Sadly by the time I saw which server you guys were on it was full. I focused on crafting and learning vs building since its only a one week test. The crafting systems go really deep. I'm so excited for a longer term beta.
Pretty much every crafting specialty is reliant on multiple other specialties. In Alpha its already very impressive. I haven't been this excited for a game since vanilla launched!
*A tranquil monastery would be so cool, and some farms underneath the mountain. where people can do more or less as they please with buildings.* :)
I feel like half of the top should be one solid central keep, rather than several smaller connected keeps. 8:22 the whole right upper section being a solid tall rectangular structure, and the slightly lower left area being the courtyard.
It looks like Medieval MineCraft with actual textures that aren't cruddy. Dope.
I hope they add some type of terrain manipulation. Making a giant cave under a mountain and building Khazad-dûm would be amazing!
Best addition would be nice floor/tile textures which could be placed.
really nice. Love how there are player houses built in all around the place. Need to put lots of torches or fire/light sources all over so it is a beacon at night time.
The devs are farming so much interaction with this game through this. I personally absolutely adore the project so far and will definitely try it out when it releases.
42:39 Rob the viking waving at screen then a chatter waving back in response was so damm cute to me👋😁
Castle boys go crazy, to be fair I would also build one probably
Great gameplay. Glad you’re having fun Zach! Keep up the great videos and content!
During the night with the lights of torches moving along the walls, ouf that's beautiful!
The architecture is on point too!
Asmon should definitely react to some 40k lore. Really interesting and frankly, insane.
Bricky did a good video series explaining the different factions
Cant wait for RP walk along a path too or from the castle with torches at night on the way to a dungeon or raid.
The architects/designers/builders are 100% benefiting the most from this. Asmongold gathering a bunch of people to gather resources to build a castle and directing it all to the builders and they now have the resources to actually do stuff like this. And they've been doing amazing work.
4:50 I thought it would have been badass if Olympus had walled off that upper side there, the path snaking through that cliff there that those other guys built their castles/houses on. That would have been a good 'rear' side to defend. Still awesome to see, good work to all the builders.
They need to add blocks that will give the crenelations some kind of use, too bulky to effectively shoot out from.
I am so looking forward to see more of this!!
I just watched the video from yesterday and holyyyyyyyyyy **** man you guys did an amazing job! Actually nuts!
You need a screenshot of everyone geared and lined up on the ramparts when it's finished.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get crazier
The integrity of these buildings and variance in shape fittings is insane ❤❤.
I am so proud of the community, AMAZING job
Pax Dei more like Nox Clei
Try building city something like whiterun next time. I think it would look even better because rn the mountain looks half empty
More of a stone city than a castle. The fortifications of the walls especially leave a lot to desire. It looks formidable, but it could be made to be a lot more defensible
They should have some historians among them thou
You need a huge hall for meetings on very top, with plenty of chairs or benches so that all guild members can sit down. Like a parliament or Royal Council. This will be so good to see
This makes me hype for this game. I wanna live in this world in the woods and visit these castles it needs great combat tho.
Asmongold gave away 1000 keys to the game for people to be able to build this, so... "We built this" is not wrong.
Looks absolutely amazing! These devs are GOAT'd, so down to earth and involved with their customers/community!
my thoughts about the last question at the end of the video: JUST an easy example, but imagine monster hunter wilds will have a similar beginning like world, but instead of just being on that ship with only a bunch of npcs, you are actually there with your guildmates too. everything is more large scale, but without killing the initial immersive feeling, we all had while first playing the game.
so those things are made right and are just mhw but largescale, but then the next thing would be, instead of entering the already fully built astera, you build your own base with your guildmates. a massive unique base somewhere in the wilds, that just looks as awesome as what you can do in pax dei, but in a way that fits that new monster hunter game and in a way that this base is now really part of the world, instead of just having hartscripted events, that will try to make you feel that way. and this works for ANY game (just used monster hunter as an easy example and i really don't want this franchise switching into a mmo, unless it's working 100% without killing anything).
so you can have the same system, the same core gameplay, the same type of quest system, the same effects on your environment for any shit you did in this game, like in any franchise you could possibly imagine, but you can have it as mmorpg, or just mmo. so you can add everything you know that would it make mmo like, such as guild wars, raids etc and it would work, unless it doesn't fit your whole game itself.
but so far, no game i know did this right in a way, that everyone would agree it is the right thing to do. and that's the reason, why we have to do story content first to some extend in so many games, before we can touch multiplayer. that's the reason, why so many games are NO mmo, despite having the potential of being an interesting one.
and that's also the reason, why existing mmos are lacking stuff you would play other games for and why so many worlds in mmorpgs are literally just dead and only trying to look the opposite, while everything that's "real" just happens in raids or quests and only for the people who enter them.
so the issues are mostly coming from having too much shit going on, when every person could trigger big events, while other persons maybe not even part of it, because they are doing other things and often not even playing the game. because of this, it is extremely hard to make a game really that "open", when multiple players are involved, since some of them will just not get the same, if any experience at all.
you can prevent this by having small servers and groups who can organize them, or just singleplayer where you can also lock those big things behind a story mode again.
but the only real solution i see for a mmo style game like this, is to just fuck with everything, letting ai generate wild story sequences on the fly, hardscript NOTHING and whenever anyone just don't want to play this mess anymore, well there is always the option to start a new server and so a new game, with other, more, less, or even no people involved, to get a whole new experience... AND THIS will be the revolution, because games won't be stale anymore, without needing to get stupid "content" patches like most games do wrong.
I hope they add decal that can be put by players on the walls to make it non repetitive
They need to build Guardian Pillars, for Gondor on the Anduin.
But once built, they sculpt Asmo's face on each Pillar
How does the builder work? I’d like to see the customization options. I’m wondering how customizable it is because it seems like they’re creating anything. Imagine ff16 having a base this nice?
The Pax Dei guys couldn't have gotten better advertisement than this
They really need to add some cosmetics for the walls and buildings, maybe even make them customizable
The freecam should be an upgradable skill, like channeling an hawk spirit and it allows you to see in a range around your character
Man! The people building that thing are awesome!
Incredible job guys!
GG!
I'm no architect, but asmon you need arches circling round the mountain, giant archs. Then, use that as the perimeter of the castle, as the walls, then have your town under the archs. Try that out, it'd look sick, fantastic location.
Asmon keeps saying "WE" as he is the one building it!
This is the kind of thing i like to do solo in Rust so to do this as a community must be so epic.
More of this. This is awesome. Never stop uploading this content. This.
its unbelievable how well this game runs with such details and amount of polygons
when he zooms out it looks like a section of only up
this game needs like clans and stuff and so u can raid other clans and attack their castles and towns . dragons would be cool too and things like elves and dwarfes
I wouldn't doubt it if they put this build into a trailer when it fully releases
At some point, we are just going to want to be in a castle together. No need for fighting. Just in a castle together. If its a good castle. Thats what counts.
i really hope they put in the work to make combat good
Damn they killed this build. The fact that there was a irl architect to help is next lvl clutch
So this is the place where architects practice their castle layout making skills.
I hope there will actually be engaging gameplay on release. The building looks amazing.
This castle exists IRL, it's called "mont saint michel" in France
It's really insane how far games have come
That's damn impressive.
But to be honest, if this was built in three days and it wasn't several hundred players working non-stop, the material grind might be a bit unbalanced.
A decay mechanic sounds like a great idea as well. It could affect all surfaces depending on exposure and maybe even traffic.
How is the performance near such complex structures?
Every fortified city in medieval Italy. Welcome to my country.
This reminds me of oh could have looked like Lucchio, in Tuscany.....❤
1:17 Another well that high in the mountain, you going to need a LOOOOOONG rope to pump water through all that stone
Best part of every game. Craft gather build. Make it solo everything with just others around. ...so fun and now in every genre ....
