PLEASE READ: JFYI I REALIZED AFTER USING A FLASH LIGHT THAT THE CLAMPS DO HAVE RUBBER ON THEM, I DO NOT THINK THE SCRATCH CAME FROM THE SYSTEM BUT PROBABLY HAPPENED IN USE, GREAT JOB WORK SHARP YOU GUYS MADE AN INCREDIBLE SYSTEM, ARE A GREAT COMPANY.
Bro, thanks for the great vid as always I just ordered one from bladehq 49.99!
@@kevinAuman1 awesome! I know most places have been selling out pretty fast, even the place i bought mine sold out in a day, but said it was only a week or two and they would have more
@@NeevesKnives yeah I actually went on their website directly and they have them in stock but it was 59.99 but they had a link for bladeHQ n I figured seeing how them guys already had all my info n everything might as well buy from there and turns out it saved me ten bucks too!
@@kevinAuman1 thats awesome!
I was wondering about this because other videos said it had something there. I have this system on its way to me but have many systems including a Chinese knockoff of another system with a similar blade clamp and I use a thin magnetic tape inside the jaws and it works great as it is rubberized.
Putting a small mirror underneath the k ice can help you see where to stop with the tip. Also cutting a small wooden wedge to place under the clamp can help with the flex, or just buy the 3d printed block. So far I’m very happy with this sharpener! My knives are sharper than they’ve ever been. Definitely gonna need to get some double sided tape and sandpaper because reproducing with the 320 sure can take time. Thanks for the review!
I have multiple videos on this system including multiple aftermarket parts videos to massively improve it
@@NeevesKnives checking those out now thanks for all the great content man!
When I use my ceramic stone I move it in small circles while using full length of the stone. Seems to work better for me than the side to side.
Ok ok thank you im definitely going to try that and im going to do an update on this once ive used it a lot
Just finished my first s30v sharpen on this. I'll skip to the end, piece of cake. Blade was plenty dull but not clobbered, went nice and easy, used a touch of water to stay smooth and no problemo. I did clean the ceramic stone 3-4 times during finishing, do it by a sink with some scouring powder handy and it takes about 10 seconds.-Keeps it cutting good (and it does cut well).
Awesome! Yeah i clean my ceramic with bar keepers friend
Very nice affordable system, I see this being a big seller. Especially when they introduce other stones/ grit options & strop.
Most definitely even like this its absolutely a winner, the price is something you cant beat for what you get
I think it is a pretty big seller, considering the fact that it’s sold out everywhere 💀 couldn’t even get my hands on one
Very similar to the lansky too
I’m not sure how long they been out now but they do have an expansion stone kit for this now. It’s been a few months now anyways.
@@jamesfair9751 and now they have the elite system that comes with the upgrade and$20 cheaper then separate
That contraption is genius. Thanks for the vid.
Very interesting how you used the ceramic stone. Great tip. Great video brother
Great vid. I don't mind a toothy edge if the grit pattern is at an angle. I use a Lansky but need to refine my stroke to get a more consistent edge. I am still quite a novice, but I have lots of D2 and VG10 to practice with. I like the rotating stones on your Worksharp. Sees pretty convenient.
And you can get a polished edge, it just takes a little more time than it would with one more stone before the ceramic, but a toothy edge is fantastic i love a toothy edge
I just learned about the premium upgrade kit for this that actually adds more steps into the system… and a cool storage case. 👍🏼 thanks for reviewing. This is great for someone like me just learning proper sharpening technique.
Yeah I have a video on the upgrade kit, and I have a video on aftermarket parts, one is a stone holder attachment that allows you to get any kind of stones you want
@@NeevesKnives awesome, I’ll check it out. This system is great because I’ve acid etch and stone washed a couple budget knives to learn 👍🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for the great review. I really appreciate the tip on the use of the ceramic stone. Great content, please keep it coming. I will definitely be buying one of these in the future.
Its highly reccomended great system
Just two things I would recommend first thing I found that Windex is the best lubricant for ceramic stones, and also if you want to clean your ceramic Stones just by a little package of erasers.if you rub an eraser over ceramic it'll instantly take off any buildup that's on there within two seconds. Your worksharp ceramic side could be completely black and if you taking eraser and just rub up and down literally within five to ten seconds it's completely White.
And just for your information Inside the clamp it actually is lined with rubber.
Ive used eraser many times i have many large ceramic stones, and it works for surface but not great for long build up, i mean it works but bar keepers friend works the best for cleaning ceramic stones that have heavy build up, but you can clean them at your work bench with almost anything
@@NeevesKnives this Japanese erasers are specifically made for cleaning wet stones, sharpening stones, Rusty knives. These are miracle workers! www.amazon.com/dp/B00FS0BFJC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_rYaYFbTR19KJH
Mine is coming tomorrow. Very excited. Like how your not even making excuses for Kara she just busy. I heard from worksharp of a possible upgrade kit in the future with a strop. The jaws should have rubber all other reviews i seen have rubber.
Same, mine is in tomorrow. I have a kme and I'm still pumped. For the price this has CRAZY potential.
Really! Mine doesnt thats wierd, oh well its still amazing, and its a fantastic price the edges are great
@@TorlingJarl i was finally going to pull the trigger on a kme this year as a christmas gift to myself. Then i seen this thing. I think its what most people need.
After watching your review I’m going to do a follow up on mine. I was doing several things wrong.
Yeah im also going to do one after using it a bunch of times my self
A pink eraser works pretty good also for cleaning the ceramic stone, just remember to wipe off the eraser dust before using the stone.
WorkSharp makes some great stuff.
I bought their guided sharpening system 5 years ago, plus the kit with the extra grits and strop.
For my needs.. (kitchen and pocket knives).. It's great.
Really high quality and well thought out.
The only thing that I don't use much is the strop since I have a larger one I made that's better for bigger kitchen knives and fixed blades.
Even the ceramic field sharpener is super useful and has come in handy many times when traveling or camping.
This looks interesting as well. Might get one!
Thanks for the review. Very informative.
Yeah i have also reviewed the field sharpener and it is ver useful i enjoy trying different sharpening systems for review but im a freehander through and through
Part three the weight problem how I did that so that was I took the bottom off and I put the steel gear inside the housing right there that I made fit in this gear weighs and a couple more pounds maybe three pretty heavy and that helped lot my recommendation to workshirt make the footprint wider get the base is the wider never take care of the problem about it morning to go towards you when your shower add in the wobble that’s in your magnetic system that you have for the sharper yeah it’s still needs work stronger magnets that’s my review I would recommend this would I buy one for a gift yes theses are my thoughts from actually using this sharpener from Work Sharp
There are 3 othere rods with stones you can get that have all different grits Amazon I almost bought the whole thing but I wanted to try it first now I bought all items that go to this sharpener I'm good at sharpening but not awesome this thing makes me a professional lol...I love it
Been waiting for ur full review on this. For me, this is pretty good. I’m maxed out on knives.
Para 3 s45vn, quiet carry chase and eddy both cpm20 cv, native 5 LC200N, lil native comp lock, isonzo cleaver and large Pilar d2. That doesn’t include all my Japanese leather knives and European leather skiving knives, all are chisel grind, which I free hand and 2 kiridashis single and double bevels.
This is what I would like to see worksharp offer, 300/600/900 and 1200/ceramic fine/ceramic extra fine.
Yeah i agree, im sure after a bit they will sell extra parts most likely even a strop
Work sharp feels like the only innovator currently in the world of sharpening.
the only ones trying to make it cheap for sure
At the price, very nice! Still, I trust my KME diamond stones to last longer. Possibly better quality on KME diamond, and wider variety. However, I like this setup for simplicity and accuracy. I tape my blades for show knives on the KME, but only about 2/3 of the blade, leaving room for the clamp, then don't need to worry about clamping over the tape. Nice review, compelling piece of sharpening gear! BTW, I like your sideways technique for polishing - learned something!
Yeah i messed up theres actually rubber on the clamp, but the diamonds from them are usually pretty good sincevthese are very small the definitely wont last as long but they will have replacement stones
There's plenty of aftermarket blanks for these now, I have 120 grit up to 1 micron hones.
so this was in Stock on Blade HQ for about 3 hours on Dec 18th. glad i purchased mine as soon as i got the email saying it was back in stock. get yours whenever you see it available!
Im trying to get another one to give away
Welp, after watching this and Slicey’s review I’m definitely gonna get one of these. I’ve been on the lookout for something better than my old Lansky but have always been hesitant to spend the money for something like a KME. This appears to be absolutely perfect. Exactly what I’ve been waiting on. Thanks for the review brother. 👍🤘
I reccomend this way over the lansky which i do have with the base and this system is far better
Thanks for another wonderful sharpening video. You are becoming the sharpening expert on here! Love it!
Im trying p and putting in a lot of time towards it so i can
The other video I watched did have rubber layers in the clamp and there was a piece of cardboard that fit inside the clamp while in storage to help prevent the rubber from sticking.
I have about zero experience sharpening knives, but one tip I thought of is to take a picture of where on the spine you clamped, so you can reproduce the same angles the next time you sharpen. Otherwise, clamping on a different spot on the spine will change the angles, creating more work
Yeah you can definitely do that i dont mind the little change but it can definitely help with saving steel, i usually freehand so i can match an angle pretty well
Finally in stock in my area. I have one ordered. When it arrives I will pick up from store it was sent to. This way I don’t get shipping costs.
Nice where did you order from
@@NeevesKnives . Cabela’s
Definitely a pretty awesome looking system. Hopefully if it sells well they will offer different rods with different stone combos maybe like a two rod add on system to cover the in betweens and maybe even a strop. Great review 👍
They are going to make extras and replacement stones, they are selling like hot cakes
They do have extra rods and a leather one… I bought a triangle plastic piece off eBay and it came with 14 different grits of “lapping films” cut to size for attaching to the triangle plastic piece with adhesive on the back. They’re color coded to identify what grit they are.
I can't believe they are charging $80 for the upgrade stones and it only goes to 800 grit. I ordered a regular $60 worksharp adjust but am pondering the thought of canceling my order and instead by ruixin pro008 sharpening system and buy the separate pack of long thin diamond stones for a grand total of $75. It goes from 120 grit up to 2000 grit.
Definitely buy the accessory kit with the unit. More stones more options and a nice case to keep it all together..
Have used mine several times and love it. You gave some nice tips which I will use in the future. Nice review, thanks!
There's some aftermarket attachments available now as well
Just wow !cant wait to get my one, very impressed, hope ill get the same result 👍🔪
I have the same problem with Lansky.I can not get a real mirror finish. Also to get a hair cutting blade I have to go to ultra fine Spyderco sharpener at the end phase. The Lansky hard diamond does not last many knives.
Draw two white arrows at the base to show the direction every time.Very good review.Thank you!
This can absolutely give you a pretty good mirror polish it just takes a little time, also depending on the steel, some steels polish easier, but with little time your very close to perfect on most steels, the lansky, if you use diamond to fine, then the polishing stone then the saphire, you can get a mirror, and with some steels an aluminum oxide before the polish, you can get a great edge on a lansky as well, this is much easier though and much easier to work with
@@NeevesKnives Thank you!
Wow I was looking at cheap systems. I can make this more rigid. Thank you!
Use a pencil eraser to remove metal from the ceramic stones. Pink square eraser you would use in school as a kid will work.
I personally recommend the white squares as follow up from the pink ones. The white ones are a little bit more tough so they should get anything that the pink misses
Not the fastest way to sharpen a knife as I was using MDF wheels but this is FAR more accurate. I have this system and I absolutely love this, mine has the rubber feet inside the grip so no scratching on my blade. Buy it!
Yeah mine does as well i made a mistake and couldnt see them at first
I hope I can buy this in the UK I have a Spdyerco UKPK in CTS-BD1 which I I've been sharpening with he lanksy kit stones by hand no brace. It needs some love!
I thought I had a good edge until I got this product. OMG the edge you get using this....
Anyone know how I can verify the angle with a digital angle finder?
I wish I had time to watch every video you two put out but I do no have the time. I ordered one of these last week and cannot wait for it to come and also for new, finer stone options.
nice info. i saw the company show cleaning the ceramic stone with a pencil eraser. worked perfectly.
Yeah erasers work good for ceramic, bar keepers friend is the best, and another stone works good to if its real bad
I have the same one owned it about a year.I found the clamping mechanism to be junk. And I found I could never quite get the right angle.I made a jig for my vise and use it that way.I am new to sharping knives and not good at it😬Thanks for the video and sharing your thoughts.
My clamp has help up well so far but have heard of others having issues I'm sure they would take care of it if you speak with them
Holy Smoke! Wish I had known about that system. Great demo, ty.
Cant wait for mine to show up in a couple days. One thing though is by using the ceramic like that you are putting a more uneven wear pattern on the stone than by going up and down.
I go up and down also, i always finish one direction, since i go through many stones im pretty good at wearing my stones as evenly as possible
Just got this - thanks for video - not quite learned the correct angles yet
👋 knife wife, I have alot of Sharpening videos and even some of the freehand videos can relate, I also started a join membership where I'm going to work directly with people to teach then Sharpening among other things
Ouch!!! That Rockstead got you good, glad you didn't cut a tendon or something.
Looks like a great sharpening system for an awesome price, I'll definitely be buying one. Thanks for all your sharpening tips, not just this video but all your sharpening videos. I have learned a ton watching your content.
Keep up the great work.
Awesome Ryan I appreciate you commenting and watching
bro if your thumb has red on it your pushing to hard, basically just use the weight of the system to sharpen
Outstanding tutorial! Thank you👍🏻 I bought one and I subscribed. God bless you and yours❤️
Hey thank you for the sub, and its a great system especially for the $ its hard to beat
I’m a huge fan of this channel so don’t take this the wrong way…I always think it’s hilarious when I see cuts on the hands of knife RUclipsrs .
One the sharpening stones they need to make them magnetic plates so you can change them as you need too. Kinda like their field sharpener.
Yeah that would be perfect, i think they have more options now
Super sharpening system, at an incredible price! Very good review! Greetings from Bulgaria!
👋
I got this for Christmas, and I get them so much sharper than I did with the field sharpener. Not quite as sharp as yours but I don't have a strop yet 😅
Everything takes a bit of time practice and understanding, focus on your burr removal, a Strop is extremely important but you should be able to do great work with out, btw a lot of things can be used as a Strop like news paper. Watch my aftermarket attachments video lots of upgrades
@@NeevesKnives For sure I've got mine sharp enough to guide through cardboard easily and cutting paper has almost no resistance.
I have the power work sharp and have messed up too many blades. Still use it but more for hard grinding and then I have been just using the work sharp field sharpener. Have been thinking about a kme but for $50 I think I need to try this!
This is definitely great the electric one is great with the grinder, this one gives you v grinds vs convex from the other
I've always freehanded my knives and never used a set-up like this. What's it like for giving feedback between your hands, stone and blade?
The price and set-up look good for someone starting out, and to you a well choreographed video sir
Its great , you have to be careful not to put pressure, so not to make angle changes across the edge but its fantastic, i highly recommend it
I wish they would use a clamp with parallel jaws though. Jaws that move in parallel, that's what I am referring too.
Part two of my comment about the sharpener from work sharp I kind of agree with the pressure but how late can you go with that mean we did not do anything if this is the method they want to go with this system OK that’s fine to make the men stronger OK that’s one of my major concerns about it is the play room is round in the holder because of the magnets that hold it there’s a lot of wobble it happens I modified mine to fix the problem with the weight I just bought the bottom off and had to go steal gear around
I have had one since the day they came out and have used it extensively. Firstly it should come with some extra o rings on the end of the rod. You constantly end up hitting it and it gradually slides down the rod as you sharpen. It doesn't weigh enough and the center of gravity should be in the base. You have to basically hold your hand on top of it all the time to keep it from moving around. The clamp could use more support under it to keep it from bouncing up and down a little while you sharpen. Lastly my ceramic stone was not perfectly flat. It had waves running through it length wise and I had to lap it on some of my diamond plates. That could be a big issue if someone doesn't have diamonds to lap it since that is almost the only thing harder then ceramic to cut it.
I do want to note that it is a amazing sharpener for what it is considering the price. If there was one sharpening system I would tell someone to buy this is it. Anyone can basically get a hair whittling edge with a little practice and a strop to finish up on.
I agree with everything you said, and im also going to talk about flattening my ceramic stone in the long term review, im happy to hear they are going to start making replacement stones and accessories soon
@@NeevesKnives According to their site you can already buy replacement stones for the 320 600 and ceramic. I do also agree with you that there should be a higher grit stone before the ceramic. Ceramic isn't that aggressive and it's kind of a jump to it. It takes to much time if you want to really remove all the 600 scratches.
These sharpening systems are excellent for anyone who isn’t an expert stone honer.
Just watch this video through yep going to buy me one right now
Worksharp's video says you can clean the ceramic with a pencil eraser. I've seen others vids talking about this also.
Yes you can with all ceramic but theres a lot of things that will clean them even soap and water with a scrub brush and pressure the best thing is bar keepers friend
Awesome system, also my clamp has rubber pads not metal on metal.
I use a Tsprof k03, that looks like a lot more budget friendly option, they do sell replacement stones for about eight dollars now.
Yeah theres many systems out there, one thing that you have to kbow is the stones and if they are any good many systems are for kitchen knives and dont work as well on pocket knives especially with better steel, also a lot of systems seem great until you get them and you realize that they are not as they seem, this system is great and its exactly how it seems, the parts are extremely easy to use the stone works on all steels including super steels, and they will have replacement stones coming soon with other available parts like strops exc...
Ordered one and have never sharpened knives, looks straight forward and its not $300 bucks!
Absolutely!
I was going to comment about this sharpening system on your last sharpening video, glad you reviewed it
Great review J. Can you just sweep the blade when it's on the system are do you have to go up and down on the blade when it's clamped
You can get different grits for this sharpener I got 800grit and 1000grit it's all about the strop. Excuses unexceptionable when your a precessional sharpener. I been with you from day one bro when you had under 100 subs. 💯💪🤙
Use this thing all the time!! Always get a razor shaving results👍🏼
Nice video,thanks.
Have you done one on the Hapstone sharpener, similar model?
I have not
Looks really good. Probably with the 3000 grit ruby stone then a strop will give it a mirror finish!
Yeah its pretty close to a mirror now so the ruby stone definitely would, also just spending more time with the ceramic will also or a stropping progression
This thing is awesome. It's better than the Smiths. Even at twice the price it seems like ten times the product.
Great video sir. Thanks. Strange, but all the other footage I've seen has had rubber coating inside the clamps. Also some folks are bench clamping the base down to the work area. But otherwise, definitely promising as a more budget friendly guided system. Heck, I wish my EdgePro had the same angle adjustment system as the WorkSharp seems easier to just dial-in to the exact angle you want. 👍🏻
I messed up i can see the rubber it was very hard to tell the difference without shining a light on it, but it does have the rubber, and clamping it down is nice but honestly its no problem at all just using it without, you just have to hold the back end of it
Excellent video! You explained it very well. I think I’ll buy one!
Thx
Awesome, im sure you will be very satisfied
Bravo ! Another terrific and informative sharpening review !
I used mine yesterday to put a screaming edge on my Spider Monkey.
There ya go, its an amazing sharpener esp for the price, its very hard to beat
so you turned it into a Howler Monkey?
@@utrak 🙈🙉🙊
@@utrak 😆
Hey mate, yer I like the system but have my doubts about the lasting power of the diamonds. What do you think? Well done with getting some more views bro. Deserved.
I think they will last long enough for the price also they are goi g to make replacement stones soon
Replacement is only 7dollar a stone... Pretty cheap if u ask me.
Great video learned alot. Buying this sharpener soon. What gets the Sharpe off? Acetone?
Alcohol
I love it except ,i am worried i can't get a mirror edge with 2 stones and a ceramic.
I have gotten close with really light pressure and one direction passes. Fwiw.
GREAT INFORMATION THANKS. Gotta have a work sharp, much easier than the MORE EXPENSIVE system 😁😊🦊🐺
Would just this system with the 3 diamond hones be good enough for someone who doesn't do a ton of Sharpening.
I’m wondering how best to clean the abrasives during sharpening and then after usage… I’m afraid the cleaner I might use will dissolve the adhesives holding them on???
Damn! I wasted so much money on other systems . This looks to be the best dollar for dollar
Most definitely!
@@NeevesKnives used it on two knives and I've never sharpened knives this well
@@joeygonzo thats amazing its super easy to use which makes for great sharpening
@@joeygonzo soon il be doing my update on this one to show how its holding up
What's the make and model of the knife being sharpened? I love the colour of the scales.
Thats jade g10 or natural g10, many knives come with it, you can leave it plain or dye them any color you wish, the knife is the cjrb feldspar mini
@@NeevesKnives Thanks! Just ordered one!
Been putting time in on mine, thanks for the video though, got some good ideas and tips
Awesome! Im going to make a follow up video after a little while and a bunch of uses
Think I'd still go with kme
Yeah ofcourse but not your talking way more money, just the stones are more money
@@NeevesKnives this is definitely a good option for the money i must agree
I have one. I have to say that I am having some trouble with it. I am having trouble figuring out what angle to use and also the three knives I have already sharpened with it just aren't getting that sharp. They are getting mildly sharp.
So 20° should be a safe angle I usually go for a bit lower around 17 but 20 is a good angle, you have to make sure you get the entire bevel on both sides and get a burr on both sides, that is what will get you a sharp edge, I have a Sharpening play list that might help most is freehand but it still translates
I find the clamp doesn't hold very tight. Most knives move around a good bit especially bigger knives.
I have one of these, I’m sure that you know that the knive holder comes off it’s held on by but I do have in is about the sharpener do you like to know when can touch
Awesome video!! do you find this to be the best sharpener for a beginner just starting out or would you recommend something else?
I absolutely recommend this for beginners or vets, there's a lot of attachments available now also that massively improves it that you can buy
Great video, and thanks for the easy to follow instructions. Will be ordering my system soon. Was wondering if you, Jerad, offered sharpening service to the public (for a fee, of course)? I just purchased a WE 604, which arrived surprisingly dull out of the box, and I am in need of a sharpening by someone who knows what they are doing. I don’t trust myself to sharpen such an expensive knife on my own. Please let me know. Thanks.
Yes i do you can contact me through neevesknives on intagram or email jrneeve@gmail.com
@@NeevesKnives thanks. I emailed you
I'm a knife nut I spend thousands I love knives I got a problem I can't sharpen knives I just can't get the angle right I end up making them worse I want these razor edges back without have to pay a professional
Looks like a great system for the $. I'm sure more stones are coming. Maybe a base clamp too. I wonder if some rubber dip on the blade clamps (think the handles of pliers) would work? I'm very interested in one. Thanks Jerad! ✌️
Yes its a great system, also the edge on the civivi came out fantastic, but that was freehanded to mirror edge
Very cool! I'm looking forward to the review! 🖖
Just put a little bit of blue painters tape on back of blade.
Actually i messed up it does have rubber on the clamp i couldn't see it before but after shining a light i could see it clearly, also i need glasses
I get one when they are afailable here i have seen that much.
Soo,, if you can't trust a skinny cook to make good food, can you trust a guy to really sharpen a knife if he doesn't always have at least one cut on his hands?
Probably not 😆 lucky im solid in that are
The shiny edges r looking fine af
Wonder if a Machinists Jack would work to brace the clamp from flexing.
Watch my aftermarket parts video on this system there's many parts including that
I don't own any sharpening system, I want to get my first one and I can't decide between this and the Spyderco tri-angle sharp maker. The Spyderco is like 13 bucks more, but is it worth it? Very good reviews on both systems.
I highly recommend this one
Is it difficult to get a full flat grind clamped In this so both sides are even ?
Have one coming in the mail today and most of my knives are full flat grind.
I should have thought about that before buying maybe.
The Worksharp video I saw they did have rubber on the clamp. Separated by a piece of paper that had to be removed. They also said they offer replacement stones. So hopefully they will start offering different grits. They also said to push the knife all the way into the V at back then hold the clamp while tightening it. I think it is great at the price. If they didn't want to do a heavier base some way to attach it c clamps or screws to a table would be great.
You know i messed up i honestly thought, mine was all metal And im going to write something on top of the description because mine does have the rubber
good ,, well thought but diamons , not for me, it really tears up an edge then a very fine ceramic, should have used silocon or boride carbide, maybe. or an extra rod to purchase with a coaurser ceramic
I use diamond every day and completely dissagree on it tearing up an edge, theres some steels i use aluminum oxide or something else, but most pocket knives these days are using steels that diamonds work fantastic on, and super steels work best with diamonds, but even other steels work great with diamonds, other stones work great also, and this system has a fine ceramic on it as well
I used mine to reprofile my Benchmade bushcrafter in s30v.
That 320 stone is not made for that LOL but it worked ...I ordered a new stone already but for now on I'll use the sticky tape and sandpaper trick.
This sharpener is awesome but there is one flaw I don't like . The part that holds the knife pops out to easy they need to add a lock with the magnet . For larger knives it sucks.
Pocket knives you won't even notice it but heavy knives are a pain at times. That said as just a sharpener it's amazing in just speaking from an idiot perspective.. that reprofiled s30v on an outdoor fixed blade 🤣🤪
Yeah reprofiling something large will take some time, the stones are small but it will work, and for the $ its definitely a great system
Does this do larger kitchen knives?
To an extent yes theres going to be a limit but for most kitchen knives yes
Looks like the angle will change as you move across the length of the blade
I havent noticed that happening maybe with a very large blade but it would be a very very small amount, and your angle would still be consistent and that is what is more important
You forgot to mark the angle of the knife with a sharpie before you started lol !
