Just the way you pronounced "inexplicably" with a soft "c" when it should be a "k" sound. Then Morgan said "inexplicitly," which i don't think is a word, but I see why she was confused by your pronunciation. But then I actually think the guy used it incorrectly anyway and meant "inextricably." Made me laugh. Love y'all's channel!

I paid for my Bible. The most recent Bible I bought from what I remember I think it was like 30 to 40 dollars. I have multiple Bibles but this one I love the cover it's really nice. All Bibles are nice but I like the thick cover on the recent one I bought. I don't know what it's made of but the cover is thick and soft and I like the color of the cover. Any Bible is great but I wanted that one with a nice cover and it was worth it to me personally.

I'm gonna share some things here, y'all don't have to agree, but I hope you read. There's a reason Biden is a Catholic and still supports legal abortion. My grandmother is deeply Catholic and incredibly pro-life, but as I told her - "I don't want to convince you that abortion is morally right. I want to convince you we shouldn't have laws against it." Doctors go into their field because they want to help people - they are the best ones to make the medical decisions necessary for things like that. These states who implement these abortion bans are dangerous places for women to have children now - if anything goes wrong, they are forced to carry dead children to term. It's incredibly damaging both emotionally and physically. Doctors are leaving, women are leaving the state to get medical care... lawmakers are not medical professionals. They should not be making medical decisions.
I get incredibly confused when people try to mix religion and politics, to be completely honest. Faith is supposed to be a choice - God gave us free will. Is it not directly against scripture, then, to try to force faith on others and make God's judgements for Him? If people are only following scripture based on fear of punishment by law, they aren't believing it. That feels pretty opposite to a lot of what I read when I was in church.
Jesus was pretty explicit with what he wanted in scripture. He uplifted the poor, the sinners, and the lowest of the low. He had dinner with prostitutes and with beggars while physically attacking the falsely pious, and extremely judgemental, officials in the temples. There are only a few things we need to do on this earth in order to go on to the next - love your neighbor, give to those who need it, and accept him as savior. Everything in the New Testament speaks against judging others because only God decides who enters his kingdom. Everything in the New Testament speaks against the harsh laws, and unforgiving God, of the Old Testament. Jesus doesn't care what love looks like as long as we love. And no loving parent, I don't care who they are, would want their children to suffer miserably in a world they created for them.
You asked a question in a previous video about what "fruit" Biden has brought into the world.... I can tell you better than your guest did. I wish y'all would actually consider looking these things up though, because politics are incredibly important. Biden has lowered the cost of lifesaving drugs. He is working to increase union power, allowing workers to better increase their pay and quality of life and curtail corporate greed. He is investing in communities and bringing jobs, and hope, back while also pushing better climate initiatives. He is not spreading fear. He is not lying. He is not (only) aiding the rich at the expense of the poor, though it's impossible to find a politician these days who doesn't do a little of this.
I know your 24 hours with series is meant to be you engaging with people and trying to be open-minded, but I just... still feel you think there's only one way to be a Christian. And that your one way focuses on some of the worst aspects of faith, things that not only no longer matter, but were also explicitly spoken against in the New Testament. I hope you'll consider it, and if you never change your mind, I hope you at least pay attention to the impacts the "ministry" you believe in has. Because true Ministry is about helping people in this world, right now... it isn't only about preaching to them about the next. And there are a lot of suffering people in this world who religious people have turned their backs on because they deem them sinners. I don't think there's a moral high ground to be found in that.

I think charging $59 for material in the public domain (which I presume the King James version is, as well as the founding documents) is highway robbery.

    • @melonhead122908
      @melonhead122908 2 месяца назад

You are correct - the KJV is public domain in the US. That is PROBABLY why they chose it: the cost of leatherette and printing materials aren't that bad, so if they came up with a price like $60, it would have a really, really high profit margin. If they'd have chosen something like the ESV or NET, they'd have to pay publisher royalties and it would not be nearly as profitable. The price isn't THAT terrible, but when you consider how much more $60 will get you with any other translation, then it does border on highway robbery.

I'm only 6 minutes into this so I could come back and update however, I think what bothers some people about the Trump Bible (besides the timing of it) is like why did he create it you know? Other people who sell Bibles under their name or brand ( let's say Beth Moore since she is talked about on here sometimes) have something valuable to add to the Christian conversation. They create study Bibles to encourage deeper thought and relationship with God. What is Trumps Bible adding to the conversation other than the Declaration of Independence? Someone could Google that for free. He just is saying the extra value to it is his name is attached to it and that is what's bothersome. And this isn't even about Trump necessarily. If Biden or even a famous figure like Justin Bieber let's say did this same thing I'd also have the same thoughts as I do about the Trump Bible and I'd venture to guess others would too. In this context though, it to me almost feels like Trump is weaponizing the Bible (as other Christians seem to feel) to gain money and to gain favor with Christian communities/ potential voters. It's seems like his Trump sneakers, propaganda tactics. And in response to his Bible potentially drawing people to God; I think yeah maybe a small percentage. However, I think alot of the people who are Christians and are really lost right now in their sense of morality and left leaning non-Christians ( and I say this as someone who doesn't necessarily identify with a party) will feel even more detoured from the Bible ( in a general sense) because Trump is profitting off of it seemingly for his personal gain and not to the contribution of Gods work. I personally feel like we as Christians need to have our armor of God on all the time and need to be consistently in prayer for our country and for our personal walks with God so that they can be clear and God lead. There is alot of distracting untruths in the world and I just think we should really take long and thoughtful pauses about things Christians feel divided about. We are all apart of the same body and deserve eachothers respect and thoughtfulness to eachothers perspectives even if we ultimately just disagree ( and the disagreements about something so important feels hard and worrisome which again is why I think contemplating both perspetives is so important.) The Bible is so so sacred and I just hope along with other Christians that it isn't being abused for earthly gains more than it already has been ( in a general sense. Thats not all dirrected toward Trump). We as Christians/ humans need to do better and use the Bible for its intended purposes rather than our own (which we have a history of doing).

Thank you for reaching across the isle and starting conversations with Progressive Christians. PLEASE do your best to keep an open mind and understand progressives love god just as much, but have a different interpretation of how to live his word.
It feels important to mention that even if you believe the original texts of the Bible is accurate word for word, it has been translated and re-interpreted by man many times. Anytime man is involved in something such as this, the words can be corrupted or changed over time as a result because of man’s inability to maintain the perfection of the original.
So In modern day it is our job to untangle the errors of man to find gods true word.

You can look at the orginal languages and texts to find out exactly what certain verses mean exactly. There is many websites online that do this. Dont really get what that has to do with being progessive though. If anything looking at original texts in their original languages has made me more sure on many fundamentals and morals of Christianity. Dont really get why your progessive then? If the bible says something is a sin and the orginal texts translate exactly the same then there is no excuse to then say its not a sin. Alot of the time progessive straight up change the bible to fit their morals.

    • @mikaylatherose326
      @mikaylatherose326 2 месяца назад

@@rachele932 I get your point, and while websites like this are helpful in gaining insight, unless you can read in ancient Aramaic or Hebrew then that’s still relying on a translation. Have you ever watched a movie dubbed in English and have the realization that the diolge isn’t carrying over like intended?
Exploring the original languages and texts of the Bible can be a fascinating journey that adds depth to our understanding of its messages. For progressive Christians, this journey often leads us to question and critically engage with traditional interpretations, seeking a more inclusive and compassionate understanding of God's word.Being progressive in our faith doesn't mean disregarding the Bible or changing its teachings arbitrarily. Instead, it involves a thoughtful and prayerful approach to interpreting scripture in light of contemporary insights and ethical considerations. This can lead to nuanced perspectives on issues like morality and social justice, where we strive to embody the spirit of love and acceptance that we believe lies at the heart of Christianity. In essence, being progressive in our faith means embracing ongoing growth, dialogue, and empathy as we seek to live out the timeless values of faith, hope, and love in a complex and ever-changing world.

Hi! I know you guys read these 😊 very thankful for your ministry and what you're doing with the 24 hours stuff!
I've been watching since way back when you guys were still pretty charismatic and prayed for you both then, because in the height of covid many of those false prophets were brought to light and i was so thankful when the Lord sanctified you and you guys announced your doctrinal change to be closer to scripture!
I'm certainly no expert, but between this video (saying Trump's bible can make more people read scripture, therefore it's a good thing) and the Cindy 24 hours video (where you recognized that her altar call produced fruit and considered her ministry perhaps vindicated?), I was hoping to suggest a sermon that really changed my view of evangelism: Voddie Baucham's "The Pain and Peril of Pragmatism."
In that sermon, Voddie gives the example of a fire truck in the park attracting people to hear the gospel and resulting in a lot of positive reactions. However, he asks the crowd if they see anything wrong with this. People get saved, right? If that's the result, how can we fault the method? How many people are we saving?
In the sermon, Voddie explains how to respond and reconsider that pragmatic view point that focuses evangelism strategy on results and not on faithful obedience. Have a listen! 😊😊

I'm trying to be very careful about disagreeing without punching down on people (which is often my impulse) and I'm learning to disengage when I get triggered because I don't think it's effective to disagree in the comments in a way that conveys anger rather than curiosity. But if you have the capacity to share what you thought about how I interacted with y'all, I'd be interested in hearing it.

But this new place we’re in (though no yard) we finally live in a nice, safe neighbourhood with parks and a waterfront after years of living in sketchier areas even though our space now is smaller (The Lord answered our prayers by making it within our budget too). My husband recently said that he feels maybe we shouldn’t make buying a home our main priority and just enjoy what we have, it won’t matter in the end. What’ll matter is the Lord, and the love within our home and prioritizing gratitude. That can be tough when it seems like everyone else is getting ahead but we can have the same joy within our situation and be grateful. No, if I am wrong, your very forgiving God will forgive me and let me in heaven regardless. Why would he or she punish me for having free will, when he or she is the one who gave it to me in the first place? Enjoy the rest of your evening...

@@daout007He won’t punish you, you chose hell when you denied Him. The world is a sinking ship and there is a life boat for each & every person, but it is your choice to get on.
      The differences with Christianity:
One; God the Son sacrificed Himself to save you. It is the only religion that did not ask you to sacrifice yourself.
Two; The one true God will never ask you to kill for Him.
Three; many ancient manuscripts in the Middle East speak of Jesus, witnesses saw Him, many attest to a man name Jesus that died in a Cross. The Quran speaks of Jesus it says He was a prophet & a good man but missed the mark of who He really was.
Four; The Bible proves over & over its real through fulfilled prophesies, many archeologist use the Bible many ancient ruins have been discovered. Google it…
      Five; Dead Sea Scrolls.
God knows you and loves you even if you do not know Him. He created you I believe He may be calling you now. Why else would you be scrolling Christian channels; you can expect more signs.

The God that lines the most with Truth! Think about your life and things you KNOW to be true! Be honest with yourself, like not things that may have your biases! Think about things you are thankful for, think about what you are proud of. Notice I am also trying to think of positive things….we all face trials ofcourse, and I am not trying to dismiss that. But continuously try and reflect on what’s GOOD…and then, I’d recommend trying prayer! Prayer is so important!!
…I am not trying to tell you which God to believe in, but to start working in a direction, and if you find something untruthful, or not good where you look, look somewhere else!
Don’t give up, keep asking questions and challenging yourself!

Well, $59.99 really isn't THAT bad. It's not a great price, but it's not terrible either. If you shop around, you can find the NET bible in leatherette with full notes for around $40. If this bible were paperback, then I'd have a lot more questions about pricing.
The only honest criticism that I have is that they chose to print the KJV. Certainly, it's one of the greatest achievements of literature and it has a Shakespearean beauty that nobody can duplicate. However, if they are really wanting to get people reading the bible and taking interest in it, then it's a terrible choice for everyday reading. They'd be much better choosing something like the ESV or NRSV, or maybe the NIV, all of which are much better for everyday reading. If you're going to purchase a bible, you should be reading it often. Bibles are not ornamental to me.
I'm not even going to touch Donald Trump. Most Americans, if not all, have already made their mind up about election day, and nothing I post is going to make a bit of difference for anybody.

It’s wild to see Christians compare themselves to other christians and how christiany they are. Shouldn’t our morals be based on empathy to the pain of others? You can talk about the Bible all you want but it’s still just a historical document. Written by a human. And every human along the way… each one put in what they wanted to. Faith in the bible is faith those people. The messaging that we are inherently evil and have something to repent of *just for existing and are incapable of sinlessness* is so damaging.

You know, we really don’t know what is truly in Trump’s heart. There is so much negativity in regard to him and his faith. But only God truly knows. I prefer a president who is promoting a positive, Gospel type Bible. Of course, we have NKJ and other versions in our house. I pray that this type of Bible encourages those to really read the actual Word of God and lead them to pray more. He’s not perfect! None of our presidents have been perfect. We are ALL created by God and works in progress. I believe that although Trump has messed up with some of the issues in his life, his heart is right with God. Just our family’s humble opinion. We’re praying he returns as president and gets the next four years right!!!
Thank you Paul and Morgan for bringing up this topic! God Bless you and your beautiful family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸✝️
