I can understand why Bao Li is an extrovert, knowing who his mother is. Bao Bao was a pretty outgoing bear when she was at the zoo. I remember the "ow bear" video of her when she was having a checkup as a baby. She sounded like she was saying "ow" every time they did something. So cute!

I fell in love with pandas after I moved to N Va after college! My kids loved the pandas & now my grandkids. GK live near 2 panda bamboo sources & they loved watching panda cam, esp during covid. Thank you National Zoo, China, Panda FedEx (planes & trucks) & anyone else who contributed to bringing pandas back! 🐼 🐼 💕

Bao Li reminds me so much of his uncles - especially the mischievous Xiao Qi Ji!

Panda cam is only 7am-7pm? I hope that's temporary. They are active during the night too. The zoo installed all those new cameras, you would think it would be 24/7 like before.

Does anyone know why the panda cam will not be available 24 hrs as it was in the past?

There is no such thing as ''introvert'' or ''extrovert'', those are not scientific categories/terms. It's more of a spectrum. Just because one panda is more catious or reserved, doesn't mean she can't also be playful and sociable.

Please treat these two pandas with kindly especially Qing Bao. Qing Bao was with her two brothers till mid September when she was forced into Quarantine so she would take while to settle. No cruel biological experiment on these two poor pandas.

These are the most stupid animals in the world.
While other animals have figured out how to eat all sorts of stuff to get by, pandas will literally starve if they can’t find bamboo!

If you've read up about pandas then you would know that they are omnivores. I've seen those in the wild eating fish and wild fruit. Those in captivity have lesser dietary choices.

better than humans eating habits n animals eat animals. Dont worry , if their bamboo supplies run out , they can eat other fruits/ plants and wont take long to grow bamboos

Giant pandas are incredibly intelligent. They're playful, inquisitive, and highly individual. They have strong personal preferences for foods and scents. Our male bear who just left Atlanta, Yang Yang, loves bananas and the smell of Tobasco hot sauce. One of his daughters hates sweet potato while his other daughter loves it. His mate Lun Lun loves the smell of Listerine, because it smells like alcohol, so she associates it with the smell of the vet, which is positive for her as they get lots of treats during their check-ups.
To base their intelligence on an adaptation they make no conscious choice in is very unfair and overlooks all the amazing qualities these bears have to offer.

@@Julianna_w In captivity they are offered all kinds of fruits and vegetables too. They're just treats though. They aren't supposed to be eating anything but bamboo for their primary diet because it gives them digestive upset

ok ,i see ,the reason why NZ will make the public waiting for 3months to see the panda debut is 1 months for quarantine, 2months for the power politicians' and Celebrities' priority private visit. 😅

the pandas need time to adapt n get use to their new zoo environment before they are ready to receive visitors
