I have never made a sourdough starter. At the end of the video you said to add 1 cup of flour (Day 4) if the starter is active but you didn’t say how much water? Also, you put a lid on instead of a coffee filter. Is that necessary?

Mary, when you take sourdough out to use, do you add the same amount back to feed and reactivate? Thank you!
I only feed it when the jar is low. If there is still enough left in there to bake again I just put it in the fridge until I need it.
