Of course the music and vocal quality is a must but I think Japanese put a lot of focus on the lyric. Many of the top songs have a very deep meaning to the lyrics.
niziu is created by the korean company JYP (home to stray kids, twice, itzy, nmixx, etc). but they are jpop as all of them are japanese and they sing in japanese
yes akb48 is a jpop group! fun fact they have 100+ members (idk how many rn LMAO) and they also have sister groups such as hkt48, stu48, ske48, nmb48 & more based in japan. as well as sister groups like bnk48 & cgm48 in thailand, akb48 team sh in china, jkt48 in indonesia, etc. so theres over 1k 48g members worldwide. they also tried to make an indian sister group (two actually) but they failed due to covid :(
one ok rock will release a new album in September. And the album tour will start in North America. Please give us your reaction to the new song "save yourself".
Even tho this was posted like a year ago, I still wanted to say this because it's pretty relevant: Senbonzakura is actually originally a vocaloid song! I defo suggest listening to the original featuring Hatsune Miku, because it's also an absolute banger. The Wagakki Band version is also absolute gold, but the original is too nostalgic to miss! If anyone here decides to give the original a listen, be sure to actually look up the correct version, since the Project diva version isn't the original song :)
BabyMetal is respected by and has performed or collaborated with the following: Metallica, Slipknot, Judas Priest, Guns and Roses, Rob Zombie, Korn The Red Hot Chili Peppers and so many more. They are legitimate. You should take a listen to BabyMetal’s LIVE performance of BxMxC.
React to number 48, Wagakki Band - Senbonzakura.. It's not their original song, it's a remake, but they make it with their style with the traditional instruments, really good..
I loved when Jpop was more Dance, Eurobeat and stuff like that. But well, trends change. Namie Amuro (one of the best selling singers in Japan) and Ayumi Hamasaki (best selling Japanese female singer and I think 3rd best selling act of all time there) deserved to be in the list. 😭
@@alexdhamp she does have the best selling album of all time there (and one of the best selling singles), but overall Ayumi sold more albums (just because she released music more often I think xd).
Sadly there isnt any japanese hip hop. Idk why but I think its bcs the censorship that makes j-hip hop is not in the mainstream now, yk cursing, brands name, etc. Ofc they have so many popular hip-hop artists, the japanese rappers that gained popularity recently is probably CreepyNuts, PUNPEE, Awich, Chanmina, and JP the wavy. Some of them have performed on the first take tho if you're interested. I think in the 90s until early 2000s japan do have so many hip hop artists in the mainstream industry, they dont just had so many rap artists and rnb diva, but even their pop industry is heavily influenced by hip hop. Some artists are still making music till today like M-Flo, Rip Slyme and Kick the can crew. Honestly 90s-2000s japanese music looks a lot like korean charts today, they have pop stars, hip hop and ballad, but japanese industry are more diverse with rock, alt bands and electro sound. I might be wrong tho, i'm not japanese, I just grow up listening to them. I dont actually listen to a lot of hip hop now, but if talking about j hiphop you couldn't leave out chill hip-hop since japan is the birthplace of Nujabes. There's so many playlist made in yt with chill j-music, and I think that's a popular genre there. What I like about japanese music is they're really diverse, ofc you can always have a formula that will works everytime, but its not enough to get you to the top of the chart, you need momentum, it can be through anime, drama or tiktok lol. I said this bcs so many japanese artists have a really unique sounds that will work on one spesific artists. And japan do respect such musicality, they dont really shy to mixed a genre or just be crazy on instrument. Westen pop and kpop are really popular too, but you have to know that their marketing is really massive there, not to mention that japanese have a very loyal fan culture that will make them one of the best music market for an artists. I just make an essay lol, thank you anyway
There is Japanese hip hop, you just don't see it with surface level exploring of the music. Delve deeper. Try some Daoko or Chanmina...especially Chanmina.
Kinda sad there is no ARASHI on here. They are such are big and known group. But i guess since there are no official music videos on youtube (i think) it's fair.
I'm Japanese . There is no singer who has both beauty and good singing like Su-Metal (the lead singer of Babymetal) 'in Japan' , I think . She is 24years old now . She belongs to the biggest entertainment company in Japan and is a famous singer and talent from when a child . When you have a hard time , you should listen 'no rain no rainbow' by BABYMETAL . Your soul would be fulfilled by the God blessing , I think .
Japanese music is less rap and edm, regardless of world trends. Instead, a wide range of music genres exist. Among them, rock music remains strong, and higedan and king gnu are very popular. Please react full song king gnu - hakujitsu(白日) official 髭男dism - pretender

Isn't Utada Hikaru the best selling in Japan?

Unlike others here, i also listen to J-pop from 90's and 2000's. They're very underated
The 90s, when Japan was more into Eurodance than Europe was. Loved that. XD
I listen to alot of citypop tho its so good
all are dominated by Kenshi Yonezu
Ado has an amazing voice

Rap in Japan only famous in 90's and 2000's. I still remember hillcrhyme has 3 great song then he gone when kpop hit japan hard in 2011
Maybe it's because Japan is a peaceful country and bad boy songs like hip hop seem unrealistic and very lame.
On a side note nizu is a kpop girl group created by jyp
React to Niziu songs
please react to super sentai opening
There are too many non-Japanese views on youtube.
