This came at the perfect time for me lowest I’ve felt in my whole life. Seeing people who are in a similar situation to me get through it and become better for it has given me the motivation I needed. Thank you
Big shout out to Aaron Lennon glad he’s in a better place. One of my favourite Spurs players and a severely underrated winger imo the guy was unplayable most days had most left backs on toast
Big Up Aaron - you are an absolute legend. Even as a die hard arsenal fan I love that you can talk like this. Opens so many doors for people struggling with similar issues. Everyone experience is different and I appreciate how stick to football is showing the human side of football and footballers. Makes you respect even more. Thank you Aaron❤
Well done fellas that’s a good show and highlights lots of very real and very serious issues. Let’s all stay safe out there lads and look out for each other.
Aaron Lennon should never been allowed to leave Spurs. As a Spurs fan I do man love Ian Wright. He’s as English someone can be. Brilliant bloke. I think someone who has nothing to do with football sits with Aaron and just LISTENS will help no end. But faith in the knowledge that what’s said stays between the listener and the one needing help.
Really appreciate the conversation lads and being open about everything. It's really tough to let someone know you're struggling but it's helpful seeing our role models do it.
Wrighty is such a class act, its just so refreshing to see. Can see how its rubbed off on Shaun too, such a great role model to have. Great to hear Aaron talking about his bad times, we will all go through it at some point.
Loved this! Massive appreciation to Aaron Lennon for coming on and sharing his story. Really insightful to what depression cues actually look like (not sleeping, not eating, not exercising, changing habits)… This is the important information for others to try to recognize and then help those struggling! Appreciate all at The Overlap… 😢❤
Ian Wright need to be Sir Ian Wright. The man's the epitomy of being British . He fought to get his profession , he fought to get better and better , he fought for 2 young boys and made their worlds unbelievable . Look at his relationships with his colleagues , and then with his son(s) and grandkid(s) . I'd be a happy man of I'm his age and even 10 % of the man and father he is 🏴✌️ But thinking , knowing people like two tier are sirs , would wrighty even want it ?!?

Makes me laugh when ex players say 'When i was a kid you'd always see me with a football in the streets' Yeah, The same as every other kid in the country 🤣, You'd cycle to your mates with a ball in a carrier bag and go the park, or walk to your mates knock on and have a kick about in the streets, Confident in saying this was the vast majority of kids in the country in the 90s and early 2000s
@@mattcarnell4763 academy player that played for us in the lower divisions till we got to the prem went down again. I think what football needs to realise is that footballers are mostly young men who have grown up in an emotionally deprived environment, with no one that they can really open up to, for fear of not being picked or seen as weak. The pressure, fame, and disappointment would be hard to manage for a well-grounded adult. More should be done in terms of help and support.
In 2006 summer window man utd fans wanted to get rid of Ronaldo and buy lenon since Ronaldo was not hitting the level required at utd but in the upcoming season he scored 17 goals in pl and then we know what happened
At the risk of mockery, and just in case no one else says it, Jesus can change your life. I’m not trying to convince you. All I can do is testify to his goodness. That His Spirit is real, and more powerful than any of the zeitgeists or addictions floating about. He saved me, and now I’m able to be a dad and a husband. You’re not alone. He will carry your burdens. God bless you all

The kids of the 2010s don't seem to do this anymore. Their kick abouts are on the PlayStation or Xbox now
True. Although, some kids take it more seriously (i.e. are more competitive) than others.
