  • We look at the new top end target sight from Axcel the Achieve XP Pro. We compare it to the standard Achieve XP and show you what has changed.
    I discuss what makes Axcel the best target archery sight in the industry and question why all American target archers don't use one?

    I bought mine used during the peak of the pandemic when supply was non-existent. I still love it.

    Upgraded my Axcel Achieve XP to the Pro for 3 reasons: the new first axis micro adjust (so easy now to level) and the updated windage block that locks the the scope barrel and block into place. Previously I had to feel if the hole was lining up properly with the hole then tighten, now slide until it stops and lock down- Awesome. And lastly the fine tune sight gauge to get those tight in between sight marks seperate to the main adjustment. Nothing was wrong with previous version I still use it as second sight.

      Some of us yes. I prefer the older Elites designed by Kevin Strother. Easy to work on and easy to shoot. I've owned this newer tech and sold them all. Bow tech now is just searching for solutions to where there is no problem. Now when it comes to sights yes I use newer sights because there are clear advantages over older sight tech.

    Picked up an Achieve XP last week and am shooting it, for the first time, tomorrow at my local club round.
    You’re not wrong about the quality, feels head and shoulders above the Spot Hogg it replaced

      For me, my Bowfinger replaced an OLD Surlock ( from the early 2000's ), talk about an upgrade!. I hope your Axcel serves you well, and you shoot some great scores with it!

    Great sights. Both my Dad, and Coach shoot them. But, I was able to get a Bowfinger for $350USD at an ASA tournament, and I've been loving it ever since, so I see no need to spend twice the money I spent on my Bowfinger.

      The XP Pro is $480usd from Lancaster
      You’d be spending an extra $130, not double

      @thenameiwantedwastaken ah, gotcha. I've never priced out an Axcel here in the US, so I was just going off the price he mentioned in the video ( I forgot about the Australian premium that they pay ). I'm sure one of these days I'll upgrade into an Axcel, but for right now I'm enjoying my Bowfinger a lot, and am putting my monthly archery budget into upgrading other parts of my setup.

      @thenameiwantedwastaken yea man, and I appreciate it, I'll definitely keep it in mind when I do upgrade my sight. Although, hopefully by the time I need to upgrade my sight again, I'll be a staff shooter for Axcel or Bowfinger

    Yeh I've had this sight for about 2months now!! limited use due to poor weather "the uk its been windy & pouring rain" until now where its nice & sunny until next wk apparently as we're due more rain!
    anyway yeh its great, easy to set-up.... multiple sight tapes included, you might be required to buy an extended threaded bolt for the scope to mount, I've a sanlida sight as my old sight & the bolt is just long enough to fit.... "so bear that in mind!" anyway the box is nice & large for extras to be stored safely, any extras are expensive... I've paid new £550

    ...also, the little little dimple insets used to set the sight on the sight bar are less accurate and harder to locate for me than the circular version in the Shibuya. There's a ton of play there.

  • @thomasstanworth
    @thomasstanworth 2 месяца назад

    I think Shibuyas are much better. They stay tighter and have a *much* more robust windage block to elevation bar connection. I found I had to adjust and tighten my Achieve XP periodically to remove play. The Shibuyas taken ten times as much use before you have to tighten the screws behind the Delrin runners. I’d recommend anyone to buy a CPX 3 and save the cash as well as enjoying a more robust, stable, reliable sight!

  • @thomasschonmann7599

    Looks to me like you're not quite up to date on the shibuya compound sights. the Ultima CP Pro also has a detachable front block.

  • @brianlew9559
    @brianlew9559 2 месяца назад

    So, i've tried this and the Shibuya CP Pro. I have to disagree, the new Axcel is not a better sight for two reasons: 2) The build quality still is not as obsessive and nice as the CP Pro and clicks still don't feel as smooth or nice to use. Also, the CP Pro has never, not once failed me in tournament. The new Axcel is nice, but removing and reinstalling for travel has already set my zero off.

    • @liamboyle9199
      @liamboyle9199 2 месяца назад

      Clicks are personal, I'd argue the shibuya clicks aren't as positive as Axcel clicks.

    Starting to sound bitter. Maybe we are not all like some of the yabadoos you deal with. Spent my entire adult life in service of country, but gotta eat too and sorry but there is more to my purchases than a flag sticker on the box.

      You do realise you’re talking about a superfluous purchase related to something you do for fun, right?
      If putting food on the table is a concern, you shouldn’t be buying ANY archery gear, regardless of where it’s made
      But, if you’re able to spend $600 on a target sight, why not spend the extra $200 and get something that’s made in America?

      Respect for that, i have deployed with some good aussies, but doubting my patriotism because i dont have a $800 axcel and in another breath hating Mathews seems odd.
      I love his videos, even with the bitterness but patriotism is NOT related to my choice of products.
      Best Wishes, I wish i could have seen more of Australia. The people i met were great.
