And another great video from Heiko ! Thank you very much for sharing it with us all. I think it's nice to see how easy it is to make from an average razor an excellent razor. It took me 4 months to finally find my best blade / razor combination but it has made me very happy. Now you've made me think and start building again 🙂
I agree about the Henson occasionally having a little more friction on the face than a chrome or stainless steel razors. I have experimented with automotive paint coatings, but they do not work. I have found that the soap nerds to be well hydrated and very slick. I have also found that the soap shouldn’t have any detergent qualities either. The second and third passes are where you notice the dragging if your soap is not correct.
I think soap is the solution. I just shaved with the AL13 today and I used Palmolive shave cream, I had more friction than before. Thanks for your comment.
Great comparison video Heiko, for the price you can’t go wrong, open comb razors will definitely have more blade feel so choosing the right blade is essential to getting a smoother shave. The closest to getting a strawberry flavor alum block is to use an ice 🧊 cube after your shave and add some strawberry cool aid to it:-)
@@Heiko-shaves There are some other wet shavers that do use an ice cube after the shave, it really tightens the pores, but my idea of adding coolaid is my idea🤭
Excellent comparison shave! One of the things I like about shaving videos is the different razors everyone uses. I'm not sure I'll get around to trying the Yaqi razors, soooo many other razors on the to buy next list 😅 But I do like knowing about them! Cheers and have a fun week!
Great video to watch Heiko, that was enjoyable for me, because a few cheep razor heads and random handles that I required on line and wasn't really happy with any of them , until putting a Chinese made open comb cap on a Japanese open comb base plate and a USA made handle, looks awesome shaves great, cost $13:75 AU , purchased around 90 dollars of cheep stuff, only one was bad the rest , sort of ok , but built one good razor out of all of it , and the others will shave if I got really stuck. awesome video.
Nice shave. The mellon is very much like the razorock sloc (self lubricating open comb). You are not supposed to shake off the water. You should leave the water caught on those teeth to allow for better lubrication during the shave. I have found with the sloc it's better to ride the cap and I seem to like platinum coated blades but as always YMMV. Also the Tile is the Henson lookalike. ;) Great video mate.
@@Heiko-shaves one-quart plastic container to contain rinse water, and the initial supply of water for getting the brush bristles wet. All razor rinsing is in the plastic water tub. Adding water for building lather is either of two ways: put brush bristles under a very slow stream of faucet water (over the sink), or squirt onto brush bristles from a bottle, and then bring this to the lather on the face. New part of the practice is now (usually) the spill the spent rinse water into the toilet bowl - not into the sink.

Great informative video Heiko.
Thank you.

Another awesome video! Also not running the tap really made a diffrence I think. Keep up the great work
Thank you!
The mellon razor looks agressive but it is acrually a mild razor. If you want a more agressive razor try the yaqi slant razor
I ordered one. I will try it soon. 👍

You are right. There are so many razors out there. We can't have them all.

Sorry let's try this again $23:75
Experimenting is fun. I might start playing around with those cheap razor heads too. Thanks for your comment

Der Mellon ist ein ganz sanfter. Momentan bin ich ganz begeistert vom Yaqi Telstar...🤠
I might check that out.
I use a water & rinsing method very different from most people.
Interesting! How do you do it?

top review 👍have a nice day
Thanks, you too!
Does the head of the Yaqi Mercury is similar to the Muhle Rocca?
Good question. I haven't tried the Rocca yet.
So, is cheaper better?
Not better for sure but less expensive to try out new razors.
