  • In March 2008, the 1/9th Marines, USMC, deployed to Ramadi, Iraq. A month later, a detachment of 50 Marines were moved to Joint Security Station Nasser where they were to take over from a contingent of Marines from the 2/8th Marines, who were scheduled to return home to America in a few weeks time.
Security for Joint Security Station Nasser was provided by two checkpoints and, on the 22 April 2008, Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, of the 1/9th Marines, and Corporal Jonathan Yale, of the 2/8th Marines, were together holding post at one of the checkpoints. For two hours, the two Marines carried out their duty when a VBIED began to drive at full speed towards the checkpoint gate. In six seconds, L/Cpl Haerter & Cpl Yale made a heroic decision that saved the lives of over 150 American & Iraqi personnel.
This video is dedicated to the memory of Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter & Corporal Jonathan Yale.

    Hi everyone,
On 22 May 2020, Specialist Enrique Roman-Martinez, a 21 year old Paratrooper of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division and based at Fort Bragg, was on a camping trip at Cape Lookout, North Carolina, with a group of fellow Paratroopers when he went missing. Sadly, a week later on the 29 May, his partial remains were found in the area.
Since the day Specialist Enrique Roman-Martinez went missing, his family have been fighting to find answers and get justice for their son and brother, with the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) leading the investigation. As of the 8 August 2020, no arrests have been made in connection with the case and details regarding potential suspects have not been released. A $25,000 reward has been offered by the U.S. Army & F.B.I. for credible information that leads to the arrest of anyone involved. The 82nd Airborne Division has requested that anyone who has information related to this case, regardless of how small, to immediately contact the Fort Bragg C.I.D. Office.
I’m asking my viewers, especially those based in America, to please share and raise awareness for Specialist Enrique Roman-Martinez’s case and help the family get the answers and justice they deserve.
You can find a couple of links relating to the case below, including updates and ways to support the family:

How about when they return home, the government/private sector actually provide them with good civilian jobs. The rate of suicide is incredibly high, too. Those soldiers, far too often, are forgotten and living on next to nothing. But, I hold these soldiers in highest regards; am just mad they are just fed lies and many are sent into enemy territory (i.e. Niger) without adequate planning from superiors who have no business being a superiors!! :( BTW, many of those soldiers who return home, not to a hero's welcome, but to systemic racism perpetuated by a group of selfish and indifferent people being led by a man who know a thing or two about divisive rhetoric.

@Ricky the navy Cross was likely the only award they could've received at the time, since their actions were so brief and didn't unnecessarily expose them to sustained contact. They were simply manning a checkpoint that was attacked. Now, if they had left their bunker to rescue injured Marines or iraqi's under fire, they most deservedly would have been recommended for the Medal of Honor. There have been countless number of incidents over the years that didn't result in the awarding of the MOH. The criteria is pretty demanding.

I truly hope you continue making videos this! If it weren’t for ppl like you the public would never know of events like these. The news in each of their hometowns likely had a small piece when it happened but it wouldn’t be anything like this where it details the HEROIC ACTS of 2 young Marines that until that day had never met but when danger approached & aside from a select few the majority of the local police did what they always did over there which was run away from a fight Yale & Haerter didn’t flinch & stood shoulder to shoulder & although neutralizing the driver those 2 still made the ultimate sacrifice! These stories shouldn’t be forgotten to the pages of time as numbers in a KIA log bc what they did was nothing short of heroic! So as a veteran I thank you for sharing these stories no matter how small the event was in the big picture 2 young men lost their lives that day & it seems that if it’s not a giant battle like Wanat & those bigger TICs the news doesn’t give it proper coverage & there will never be a movie made on it but these 2 stood in the devil’s doorway & instead of taking a step back they stood their ground! 1 was going to be home in a weeks time & the other was fresh off of Parris Island & new to the country & the fight. Thank u for posting these stories! RIP Bad Asses we got the watch now! 🇺🇸
