The faux hinges on his shoulders, is indeed replicating the hinges on the original toy, but, those joints were also details in the show. Also I like this figure very much.
The shoulder hinges are from the show, same as the chest hinge, that's not toy accuracy that's screen accuracy...of course Silverbolt had those in the show for toy accuracy so it comes back around, but I like them. I agree about the wings, hope a third party steps in and gives us big wings with forward hinges, not sure if anything can be done about the tail feathers. The face feels wrong because it's neutral and Silverbolt was constantly making expressions or tilting his head in confusion.
When did they ever give an indication that they would move away from the realistic beast modes? The behind the scens for tm2 megatron mentioned how hard it was for their pc to render the model due to all the scales they added for dragon mode. Tigerhawk they showed a diagram of what sculpting parts were reused from tigertron and airazor. The realism isn't going to stop anytime soon by the looks of things
I think his head looks off because its not "furry enough", it looks like they were trying to get it as close as they can but are leaving enough room to evoid being accused of being a furry.
But Dragon Megatron, and Tigerhawk, look WAAAAAAAAAY more accurate to the show models than anything else. I'm not too worried about some reused textures here and there. And maybe that's what they were doing wrong with the head.

I FIGURED OUT THE CENTER CHEST HINGE. The plastic on the neck is different than on the chest. They needed to attach it somehow so they used that hinge.
I just bought him, yeah, he has an interesting transformation with how he completely turns around for his transformation but he does nothing truely amazing like quake does
I think the hinges were there because the show model had them. He did. I've rewatched Beast Wars at least six - seven times over the course of six years. Don't argue with me, boy.

How you feel about this entire figure, I felt about the new animated bumblebees legs. My boy’s catchphrase was “wheels on heels” but the designer put them on his knees and gave him baby feet. Needless changes that only make the figure worse.
I never really considered Animated Bumblebee's feet a key feature of his design, but he was like the Autobot I cared least about in Animated, so I can see how I didn't pick up on his design ques.
@@PerspectiveEnd it’s just frustrating they already had molds with show Accurate sculpting and transformations for both figures and made confusing design decisions. Space Wheeljack proves they can do better on both fronts.
Honestly, the first thing that I noticed when I saw this figure was just how far apart his arms looked. All his other problems could still be there but just the way his arms look is so weird to me that I can't bring myself to buy him.
I was definitely underwhelmed with the figure too. For me it was the colors. Repainted it myself and it was already x10 better. Just a bit of drybrush on the fur and wings took it from a 6 to an 8.
From the pictures I thought this guy was a retool of the tiger hawks but it isn’t so count me pleasantly surprised I probably won’t get one but it’s cool they made a new mold
me who just go his copy: "who's a good puppy birb? such a lovable dork" for real that backpack from the 90s toy i wanted to fold down so darn badly as a kid
Tbh my worst gripe with this figure is that he can't shoot over his shoulder with his wing guns. He may have used that attack more than his feather swords, so him missing them pisses off SOOOOO much
@@shirothenoodle1810 Disagree. I believe there are more important articulation points. ROTB Airazor has no waist swivel and she can be quite expressive with her posing.
Glad to know your an Silverbolt fan. I can definitely see what you mean about Silverbolt, it’s an odd figure that could’ve been improved with some better paint tbh
Honestly, finding a used inbox old figure from the original beast wars would only be slightly more expensive than this. Like double the normal price at most for an amazing figure
They should have just done what they did with SS86 Perceptor and Kingdom Core Soundwave; take the OG figure and update the articulation where possible (wings specifically) but otherwise keep stuff the same since it worked the first time.
I think the robot mode is good, but I agree with you on the beast mode. It’s the most compromised by the waist swivel. I had the original toy and the new figure’s beast mode just doesn’t hit the same. The snarled expression, bulkier upper body, and curved talons made him look totally radical and gave him so much sauce as the kids say, but the new figure doesn’t have those so it’s just sauceless 😔
Ngl, when talk of a Silverbolt figure was going to be made, I thought it was just going to be a minor retool of Tigerhawk such a different head(s) and new color scheme. But to my surprise and shock, they made a new mold for Silverbolt.
I really want to get the original. This thing looks fucking freaky. But I cant afford it because it is so expensive. I’m just going to assume the Beast Wars Reissue line in cancelled because it just as never had an announcement in like a year, so i’ll see what i can afford on eBay. The original Fuzor looks great.
Actually, I got mine on ebay, for less than the Voyager. You can find em mostly completely for 30 bucks or so if you are willing to not have the package.
Apart of me likes the figure but at the same time the arms, the shoulders which i do not like, the wings and the coloring is what made me put the figure at 8.5 to 4.7 I kinda felt that if i didnt swap out wheeljack for SB and i watched this video i'd be a bit happier i didn't blindly grab him based on necessity.
@@PerspectiveEnd nah i get it because when i got the figure before the wheeljack video i had issues with the figure listed before watching your the SB video
Dang yea this figure does have quite a few problems. I’ll still get it since I need a chug silverbolt but I realise the transart silverbolt will definitely be a necessary purchase
I grabbed Legacy Silverbolt, not because I'm attached to the character or wanted the figure. I grabbed it since it was 30% off and I already have a Kingdom Blackarachnia
I know that feeling, one of your favourite characters being made an alright toy, but because you already liked the character a lot before you notice how wrong the figure feels. The explanation for this I think it is just that the it looks accurate but is so limited by how crap the toy is designed which prevents it from being peak that you know could have been avoided, making it a missed opportunity so big you resent the toy for it
@@PerspectiveEnd studio series roadbuster that thing is a backpack mess. The doors of the car that supposed to go on his calves just goes on his backpack too while his calves has the fake door, like WHY!?
This and Animated Bee are my first United figures and I gotta say, I love em both. Even with my love for the character I just, have a great time messing with it. The Fuzor aspect is something I love and am excited to get Tigerhawk for, and hoping we get Quickstrike soon too. Maybe they'll do another premium finish line if they make those two. Animated Bee, it's a fun little compact goober that takes me back to my childhood. Glad you liked that one, as for this I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it as much. Same with SS Rhinox and Origins Jazz considering the former I directly recommended.
I'm glad you are enjoying him more than me. I expect this means you are a little less familiar with the character than I am. I don't think Premium finish will fix this thing.
@@PerspectiveEnd I wouldn't say that, I have probably watched season one more than the rest of the show but only because that's what was available to me at the time. He's grown on me a lot since seeing the show in full. That could very well be the case. Again I'm sorry it didn't pan out in the end. Here's hoping for that core class Dinobot at least.
Those extra hinges and molded detail in the chest and shoulder confused the HELL out of me in the transformation, since I tend to try to not use instructions. I enjoy the figure though, but I guess once I get to his part of the show my opinion may change, still only on episode 5 or 6 of season 1
Hopefully you continue to like it as much as you do. And he had the hinges in the show, but they changed So much about this design, why keep an aspect that can confuse people.
I thought something was off about the figure when I first saw pictures of it! One of the first thing that stuck out to me were the hinges on the shoulders. I didn't know they weren't even real hinges. That's so stupid. The wolf head also looks weird and ugly.
While I'm sad you hated it, I was still excited to see it up for review. Silverbolt was integral to my childhood, so I'm just pleased to have another of him after 30 years.
I understand that feeling so much, but I think that's why I'm so mad. This was his first time in 30 years, and they phoned it in. He deserved better. I just hope the Transarts figure does him justice. And I just hope the Review was enjoyable, I was trying to make it funny rather than just let my rage take over.
OMG you are SO right! I couldn't quite place where my aversion to this mold was! It gave me the same feeling as the commander ultra magnus. Where the shoulders just seemed too wide. But no! Its his shoulders are too low, and his wings are even lower! Thise proportions just threw the entire balance of the figure off. Silverbolt has always been my favorite BW character so I had many mixed emotions with this one.
Speaking of German shepherds, how do you feel about K-9? I know you didn’t like Wolfang when you reviewed him a few years back, but it’s a pretty solid retool.
Outstanding review PerspectiveEnd!! I was blinded by my desire to have a figure of BW Silverbolt in my collection, I had no idea just how numerous his flaws were. lol Hopefully if we get a Legacy figure of Quickstrike it will be similar to Tigerhawk instead of Silverbolt. Keep on being amazing.
Not gonna lie, this video was quite suprizing, the fact that Bolt is one of your favorite BW characters ( hi to a fellow flying wolf fan ), or the reaction at the end resolt. As for my take,. the robot mode is dicent, but I do agree the head look's rather stiff. And the beast mode has wonky proportions to say the least, especially in the back. And as for the question of the video... As far as fuzors go, if you could pick, what non-show characters you would liked to see get a new fig and why?
Yeah, I've not talked about him much, though I've not had much cause to before now. The rear of the beast mode is a crime. Injector. I LOVED injector as a kid. He was my favorite Fuzor.
Bought this along side BB Megatron and never really gave it any thought since Peak was on the shelf beside him but... ya, I can't help but agree. I am fine with him, but this could have been WAY Better. Mine also has the issue of loose wings, they are so floppy you'd wear he broke a bone Either way, he is now holding Blackarachnia in his arms between the Maximals and Predacons on my shelf and aslong as he can do that, thats great
I think putting him With Blackarachnia does add something, since it feels more right that way, but at the same time, she's covering for his failures... Apt honestly.
I think the feet were changed to make it easier for him to stand since his original feet are shaped weird Even so it’s kind of a stupid thing to complain about, no one cares about the feet on any figure unless they make it impossible for it to stand
The old figure didn't really have a problem with that, and it was way more back heavy, and didn't have ankle tilts. I mean I care. It's just yet another aspect of this figure that doesn't look like the character.
I did not realize just how much better the original looks than the new one. I was totally 100% in on this until you showed the transformation that had random parts that don't do anything. I'll just get pounded on Ebay for an original. Thanks for the really in-depth review here.
No problem, happy to do it, and I got my OG one after this came in, on ebay my self, FOR LESS than I paid for the Legacy one, and that thing wasn't even scalped. So it's just all win for me on that front.
I can only imagine what horrors PE saw when he googled “beast wars silverbolts feet”.
I actually just went straight to the show, so I didn't have to deal with that.

I don't agree that both modes look sick. I could say so for the Robot mode, but not the beast. That thing look goofy.
From the pictures this figure already felt off to me, but this… just makes me feel sad :(
I'm right there with you.
Just by looking at the figure at my local GameStop, I already had a feeling this figure was underwhelming.
Deeply so. I cant believe this is not an improvement on the original in just about any way.
This figure and Rhinox and Tigatron were the only Kingdom/Legacy Bw figures I didn’t pickup just because they didn’t look fun to handle
Oh my Primus dude take it easy on the figure it's amazing figure to go in top 10 for me.
Yeah that would help a bunch, as one of this things issues is just how lifeless it feels.
From the pictures I thought this guy was a retool of the tiger hawks but it isn’t so count me pleasantly surprised I probably won’t get one but it’s cool they made a new mold
me who just go his copy: "who's a good puppy birb? such a lovable dork"
for real that backpack from the 90s toy i wanted to fold down so darn badly as a kid
He is indeed a loveable dork. Adorkable as some would call him.
And I do feel you on that.
So I wasn’t going crazy when I thought “ why do the wings feel like they should be higher”
Tbh my worst gripe with this figure is that he can't shoot over his shoulder with his wing guns. He may have used that attack more than his feather swords, so him missing them pisses off SOOOOO much
Absolutely, it's one of his most ICONIC poses, and he just can't do it here.
The one take I will 1000% fight you on: Every transformers figure NEEDS a waist swivel. Take that away and you practically have a brick of a figure.
I don't agree. You can do a lot to make up for a lack of a Waist.
If i ever get this figure i will probably repaint the the face to actually have some details.
I had a feeling something was off about Silver but I couldn't put a finger to it.
Turns out there was a lot.
When I got this guy, I liked him a lot. Whilst I still do like him, he's definitely soured on me as time went on.
They should have just done what they did with SS86 Perceptor and Kingdom Core Soundwave; take the OG figure and update the articulation where possible (wings specifically) but otherwise keep stuff the same since it worked the first time.
At first, I was like, that's not so bad, and then you turned it to its side
For the Wing Height?
@PerspectiveEnd Not just the wings. The arms are also slightly off
@@PerspectiveEndall right, I just got the figure, and I figured out what's wrong with the shoulders. Is that there too far apart from the torso
This is definitely a solid figure, but he could definitely stand for much more loyalty to the original show model and more wing articulation
I'm glad you are enjoying it more than me.
You can find em mostly completely for 30 bucks or so if you are willing to not have the package.
oh lord save this thing you literally had to put the review on hold at the start just to be able to swear curse at it
That's how full of rage this has made me.
His stomach comes off on pegs
What?
@PerspectiveEnd yeah I take where his red circle is the stomach comes off its connected by 4 peg no idea why
Apart of me likes the figure but at the same time the arms, the shoulders which i do not like, the wings and the coloring is what made me put the figure at 8.5 to 4.7
I kinda felt that if i didnt swap out wheeljack for SB and i watched this video i'd be a bit happier i didn't blindly grab him based on necessity.
I never want to make someone enjoy the figure less, I just want to warn you what I think is worth your time, while saying how I feel.
Yeah I'm going to have to get the Transart as well. Here's hoping they don't fall on their face again.
Just exactly how I feel about Studio Series 102 Optimus, but this one is sad to see given it's Silverbolt that got disrespected by Hasbro.
To say this was unexpected is an understatement.
I wish I could have been more positive.
The intro reminded me of this quote lol “Paul Mcartney called us Shitnot” (Slipknot reference)
This entire review needs to be remained "rost a mans: legacy silverbolt" because it what is it.
That's what I was aiming for, because I figured it would be more fun than me just raving in rage.
@@PerspectiveEnd to be fair at some part you was extremely pissed as if you talk about toy world constructor.
we should’ve gotten quickstrike first
Why first?
I grabbed Legacy Silverbolt, not because I'm attached to the character or wanted the figure. I grabbed it since it was 30% off and I already have a Kingdom Blackarachnia
Damn where did you find it for that price already?
@@PerspectiveEnd Target
The chivalrous hero fuzor of the maximals.
Into a garbage can.
I know that feeling, one of your favourite characters being made an alright toy, but because you already liked the character a lot before you notice how wrong the figure feels. The explanation for this I think it is just that the it looks accurate but is so limited by how crap the toy is designed which prevents it from being peak that you know could have been avoided, making it a missed opportunity so big you resent the toy for it
Who comes to your mind when this happened to you?
Great roast. Glad you like the figure.
Thank you. I was treating this as a Semi Roast Video.
I'm embarrassed to put this beside Black Arachnia.
I don't even bother with it my self it's such a joke.
Welp right bicep tab broke off the first time i moved his arm. Looks like i'm buying the 3rd party one.
Video of the year. Bravo.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.
@@PerspectiveEnd Dude. You rock.
When I looked at it in images I knew he was going to be terrible he just looked so uncanny
I thought something was off about the figure when I first saw pictures of it! One of the first thing that stuck out to me were the hinges on the shoulders. I didn't know they weren't even real hinges. That's so stupid. The wolf head also looks weird and ugly.
I Know Right?
And that Wolf Head, is a true sin.
The one from the 90s looks like a higher quality toy imho
Update:
Hes a fantastic toy! Super excited to see what my sister sees in him, i have no complaint except maybe more of a knee bend
I'm glad that you are liking it so much more than me.
For me K-9 was always just Wolfang in different colors. No level of change really fixed that for me.
I'd like to see you review a figure you know sucks but still love
I think I've done that before.
I never realized how bad the compromises were just to put the waist swivel on this Silverbolt 😂🤣
Bought this along side BB Megatron and never really gave it any thought since Peak was on the shelf beside him but... ya, I can't help but agree. I am fine with him, but this could have been WAY Better. Mine also has the issue of loose wings, they are so floppy you'd wear he broke a bone
Either way, he is now holding Blackarachnia in his arms between the Maximals and Predacons on my shelf and aslong as he can do that, thats great
I think putting him With Blackarachnia does add something, since it feels more right that way, but at the same time, she's covering for his failures... Apt honestly.
And they got rid of the coolest thing ever his firing Wing missiles
They are missed, but weren't expected at this point.
I think the feet were changed to make it easier for him to stand since his original feet are shaped weird
Even so it’s kind of a stupid thing to complain about, no one cares about the feet on any figure unless they make it impossible for it to stand
I don't always agree with Perspective, but man when he makes me laugh he makes me LAUGH
mooseknuckle onwards had me LOSING it
That's what I was hoping for. I prefer not to be angry and projecting it onto people, but angry and turning that to comedy.
I was thinking throughout the video that the robot mode didn't look that bad. But when it got to the beast mode... yeah, that's wonky as shit.
Yeah, the Robot mode would be tollerable, and everything I said, I would classify as nitpicks... Till you get to the beast mode.
6:39 His WHAT?!
You heard me.
5:31 does wolfang count?
He would yes. I forgot that happened.
I miss the question of the video very very much
I will do my best to bring it back.
