Thank you. It takes a lot of energy to record these videos. But energy is never lost only transferred. So take my energy and make something out of it.

Your resource system is very similar to a Japanese tcg i learned about recently, Battle spirits.

Our resource system was only a twist on established resource systems. It was always more than likely that other TCGs had already attempted something similar to ours.
It is reassuring though, because it gives us confidence that the resource system works 🤣😅

What resource system have we decided on then?

@ShardTCG in five nights at freddys there is a resource called remnant which is basically soul energy.
In my game you'll have a separate deck foe your remnant cards and you'll add 1 to your pool of usable resources every turn. Each player starts with 5, you'll have to attach these cards to your "monster" cards for them to be played.
I didn't want the resources to be something you'd have to be lucky to pull like in Pokémon so I figured something similar to hearthstone was a good idea

Opportunity cost is another resource, but it's a bit more abstract. For example, cards that introduce deckbuilding restrictions.

    • @ShardTCG

      That is next level thinking.
All good players will consider opportunit cost, whether it is conscious or subconscious. Every move we make, we must consider what we are sacrificing to make that move.
It's a good observation, and it would have been fun if that was included in the video.

I have an idea for a resource called genes for my card game called Ashlyn's universe that you can put under the monster like putting a beast card under a beast monster and they will give the ability like boosting attack, drawing cards, or sacrifice a card for this effect, and use it to fuse to make bigger monsters it's a combination of sci fi and fantasy so you're making the monsters of myths and legends

If a player can only do one thing per turn, that is a resource. Like for example in pokemon (the video game) each pokemon can only do one move per turn.

      That's a good point!
Anything that you set a limit to, in the game is a resource. Some are just more conventional than others, but I like your outside the box thinking!
