When I was a kid back in the 1950's, we used to call this kind of fishing 'spin-casting with a lure.' -Or at least that was the local jargon around here at the time.. I remember my Mom mentioning the importance of applying proper (a pause-and-jerk style) motion while reeling-in a hula-popper type lure.
Great stuff right here. How can you not love a guy that continuously wants you to succeed like he has. Oliver is the definition of a complete angler, from personality all the way to skill. 👍👍
Please do more of these videos! Love your channel and would love more instructional videos like this one. Would love one on that megabass grenade crankbait. About to grab me one or two after seeing them on your video lol!
Awesome tips! I’m new to this style of fishing, but what Oliver said resounds with me. Growing up fishing colder waters, jerkbaits were a staple. I tried glide baits once before with no success, until I started fishing it more like a giant fluke.
I am aware after reading your review that you have used the 7' 11' megabass leviathan rod, I was wondering in what range of weights is the sweet spot for that rod. I plan on using it for smaller glide baits in the 2-4 ounce range, thanks!
I wanna buy a big lure like that for spawn but here in Indiana we don't have trout, i don't know which type i have to buy, just generic look or should i find something that look like ????
No worries if you don't have trout. The profile of the I-Slide looks like many forage fish types. You may want to have just a good generic minnow match with silvery sides, but also consider the GG Bass and GLX Sunshine Gill. The different I-Slide sizes offer different colors. Here's a look at the I-Slide 262T colors for the biggest of bass: goo.gl/7dZ8iC The I-Slide 185 is a nice mid-size option for big bass and has additional colors: goo.gl/ZKQb53 The I-Slide 135 is the smallest of this product line and offers even more colors for common forage: goo.gl/ryfKkb
Big fish eat big meals, not just trout. They eat carp, gizzard shad, sunfish, EACH OTHER. Same concepts apply anywhere bass swim. The fish shown in the video is from Texas with ZERO trout.
"I see people fishing it safely" that's cause not all peeps can afford to hang up a 100 dollar bait lol but u r so correct about that bro, best way to fish it like a jerkbait, an the islide responds to it better than most big glides.

Those camera angles are nuts 👍
Nice to have a capable FAA certified drone operator on staff! Plus scuba diver and the rest.

We certainly like his style and the way he thinks about fishing. Pathfinder for sure, and a pleasure to work with.

Bass Casters he's in that class of the most humble anglers. 👊🏼
BigBassDreams you are the best your welcome.
Sick video! Thanx for sharing guys
You bet, appreciate the comment. Several more to come with Oliver.
Glad to see someone who knows the craft and can prove it. Rather than someone who is just making the video to make it.
Xiong Lor or just talking about their sponsors
Thanks for the tips.

GOAT
Whats the lowest water temp you throw glidebaits in?
When water stops being fluid and transforms into solid state
ATX represent!
Awesome!!!! :))
Yeah, I heard that, too and laughed!
I traded Oliver a lure for one of his reels 💯
my boy.
who here watched this video a dozen time yet? cuz im trying to get my first bite on the glide this year!
english with the reel...Oliver is a pool player??
He's terrible at billiards. He can finish a reverse layup with either hand though utilizing English...
BigBassDreams Epic!
lol fair enough! You should do more of these on your own channel, that was the most concise and elucidating technique video I've seen in awhile
we aren't intelligent enough to do it on our own :/
lol!
I get so nervous when I use baits that expensive I want to use 300 braid
hey have u been too bassmasser buddy
